Some mornings I wake up with a purpose – a run, heading right in to work, AM yoga – and food can wait. I usually do want to have a snack and some water, but it’s not like I have to eat immediately or I’ll die.
Like it was today.
I couldn’t wait – I just had to have breakfast.
Could it have been the thought of a loaf of High Five! in our “kitchen” that was psyching me out!? Because that’s all my stomach could think about.
I toasted some in our Homewood Suites toaster (yessss!) and used a Homewood Suites real plate (yesss!) and a real knife to mash in a banana (wheee!). Plus some Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter in a to-go packet and a little Hail Merry grawnola on top
The coffee wasn’t bad either! Had to drink it black though.
Back to bread!
Kristina says
YUM! What a delicious looking breakfast 🙂

You mentioned recently that lack of coffee made your shoulders hurt and the light went on – I’ve not had coffee in 3 days and my back and shoulders were hurting so bad, I was getting concerned.
I’m now finishing off a cup, and my back is already feeling better. I had no idea. THANK YOU! Now I can get back to thesising without writhing around in my chair. 🙂
KathEats says
Glad you figured it out!

Heather @ Get Healthy With Heather says
Breakfast is always on my mind first thing…err okay coffee’s first, then food 🙂
Eileen says
This used to be my morning routine: Wake up, run 4-8 miles without so much as a drink of water, shower, get ready for work, commute for at least 40 minutes, THEN eat a huge corn muffin and drink a massive black coffee. I didn’t have an eating disorder; that was just how I structured my day.
This is now my morning routine: Wake up, tend to three kids, eat something that HAS to involve a little bit of protein (oatmeal, PB on toast, sometimes an egg) and drink coffee with cream. This seems much more sane!
Christina says
Mmmm don’t be surprised if you see this on my blog for tomorrow’s breakfast k? 🙂
kaila @ Healthy Helper blog says
i have never had a loaded piece of toast like the ones you always make….usually like simplicity with just some jam or nut butter….but this combo looks fabulous!

Hi! Love your blog. Just found it a little while ago. Also, I love that you love oatmeal so much. I can’t get enough! Have you ever put barley in it? Just boil the barley for a little bit and then add oatmeal, it gives it a great texture.

That looks incredible!
