I need to stop searching for “Boppy Covers” on Etsy and get to work! Babies are expensive enough, and then you have to throw Etsy in the mix. I was searching for cute crib sheets one day and found one – didn’t even look at the price – and sent it to Caitlin. She said “Kath, you CANNOT pay $50 for a custom crib sheet!” She is right – but it’s sooo tempting!
Delicious breakfast mix today thanks to Alex’s newly created Caramel Apple Muffin!! It’s 50% whole grain (they are also testing a 100% whole grain version) and was everything gooey and cinnamony about fall!
I filled up my bowl with plain yogurt (off greek and back on WF Organic Low Fat for a week – I love to mix it up!) plus about 1/3 of the muffin, crumbled, berries, chia seeds, a sprinkle of raw oats, almond butter and coconut. No lime – that’s in the décor : )
I am also surprisingly into milk in my iced coffee. It seems to really bring out the flavors in the Shenandoah Joe’s Mexican Decaf more than other brands.
Lime tea towel is also from Etsy : ) Oh Little Rabbit’s store!
In just a few hours I am heading south to NC for a hometown baby shower tomorrow!! Excitement!

Baby stuff is so cute! Especially all the clothes….I can definitely see how it could be easy to get carried away! But they grow so fast so you’re probably better with used/hand me down stuff 🙂
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
Caramel Apple Muffin sounds so yummy! Perfect addition to breakfast. 🙂
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
OMG caramel apple muffins?!? Yes please! That’s hilarious about Etsy and the $50 cover. I understand how tempting it must be though. For human beings so small, how can they be so expensive?!? My favourite piece of baby clothing is shoes… I don’t know why, but they are just so cute! (Maybe it’s because my feet are so ridiculously enormous!)
KathEats says
Well if it had been an adult sheet I’m sure it would have been $200. So babies are cheap!? 🙂
Brie @ Coxswain Dilemma says
This tea towel is really too cute. Can’t wait to move to an apartment for three years so I can actually buy things! I feel like I live like a rogue..
The Mrs @ Success Along the Weigh says
I could go nuts buying cute baby stuff, I see the temptation! Have a wonderful shower and a safe trip!
Alicia says
Yesterday, though it was 100 degrees here, I was craving Fall foods. That muffin would have definitely done the trick. I am not trying to wish time away, but I am ready for apples and pumpkins, and sweaters!
Michelle@PeachyPalate says
I never drink coffee but you have me craving iced coffee with the daily pics!
Katie @ Peace Love and Oats says
Haha I can imagine it’s so tempting to buy cute baby things, especially with Etsy thrown in the mix!
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
The expensive stuff you feel bad buying is the stuff to put on your registry! 😉
Nicole says
Ha! There are two Boppy covers I’d love to have on Etsy, but they’re $25 a piece! Last night I actually tried my hand at making my own cover- I just need to figure out how to attach the zipper. It’s not perfect, but a pretty good first attempt. I just don’t want the standard (read: boring) covers.
KathEats says
Good for you!
Lindsey @ Pas de Deux says
Have a safe trip, and an awesome weekend!
That Etsy store is dangerously tempting….
Grace @ Grace Dishes says
Enjoy your baby shower! I can’t wait to see how it goes 🙂
Khushboo says
That muffin combo sounds great!
Susan H. @ The Food Allergy Chronicles says
A healthy Caramel Apple Muffin sounds delish! I must say, I am not ready for fall but would enjoy the muffin!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
Oh man, I’m going to have the hardest time not buying things left and right when we have a baby… I “oooh and ahhh” at everything NOW. I can’t imagine what I’m going to be like when the time actually comes. There’s SO many cute things out there these days!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Oooo! baby shower on the horizon! Maybe someone got you the $50 Etsy crib sheet! 😉
KathEats says
Haha I couldn’t even put it on my registry
Marissa@ohhhsolovely says
gosh, it seems that so many of us in “blogland” are already looking forward to fall! enjoy your shower!!
Lisa says
Enjoy your baby shower- how fun and exciting!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
It’s easy to get carried away with baby stuff. Little things and things for little people are so cute and so fun to buy. I’m thankful ETSY was not around when my kids were babies!
Laura Lea says
That muffin sounds heavenly! And I am addicted to Etsy hand-printed towels. It gets out of control real fast!
Erin @ The Grass Skirt says
I am also pregnant, and I am convinced that Etsy will bankrupt us. I got all of the nursery and bathroom wall art from there, and lately, I have been obsessed with buying cute little baby hats.
Hope says
The Circo sheets from Target are super soft and cheap!
Caitlin is very smart. When you see what your child does to those sheets you’ll be thankful that you didn’t over spend on them.
Rachel says
that muffin sounds great!
Elisabeth says
That muffin sounds delicous! Sure wish I was near your GH (or any GH!). I’m definitely looking forward to the store for granola coming to your website. Have a fun shower 🙂
Nicole says
Well, the really good things about newborns is they really don’t NEED very many things to be happy 🙂 Really just you guys, your breasts, a diaper (and I’d argue that they would probably be happier without one LOL) and a roof over their heads.
Have a great baby shower!!
Jennifer says
I actually drink hot coffee all year round. LOVE it even in the hot weather. 🙂
Have a safe trip down to NC.
Nicole says
Quick question–I have searching your site because I know somewhere on here you listed your favorite peanut butters but I cannot find it for the life of me! Can you point me in the right direction pretty please??
KathEats says
This is the only post that came up, but it’s 2 years outdated! I’m headed out of town, but I can think about this and get back to you on the latest next week?

YES, that was the one! Thanks so much 🙂
KathEats says
OH good!
Ashley @ Coffee Cake and Cardio says
Cute towel!! Have a blast at your shower.
Andrea says
What do you do with your leftover muffin if you don’t eat the whole thing? Do you leave it at room temp. or stick it in the fridge? I only ask because I made some muffins the other day and they went moldy after sitting at room temp. for 2 days! I was SO mad! I have that problem with muffins every time I make them. But putting them in the fridge changes the texture for me 🙁 Suggestions!?
KathEats says
I leave at room temp and if it’s not gone in a day, I toss the rest.
Courtney @ Brussel Sprouts and Beer says
Have fun at your baby shower!
Cristin says
Etsy is a dangerous place PERIOD! It would be tempting to buy cute and unecessary baby crap. But crib sheets from Babies R Us are soft and functional. Don’t worry!
Julia H. @ Going Gulia says
Etsy is addictive. I’ve known about it for a while, but didn’t really get into it and make an account until this past fall. And now I’m pretty sure every gift I buy for people for the rest of my life will come from Etsy. It’s just too good.
Averie @ Averie Cooks says
Kath, you CANNOT pay $50 for a custom crib sheet!” <— just wait til you start cloth diapering and pay $50 for ONE diaper cover that you find on diaperswappers that you just HAVE to have…that your baby goes…to the bathroom in. Yes, millions of women do it…meet the ladies on that site 🙂
Maria Carolina says
Hey Kath really random question but do you prefer raw or roasted sunflower seed butter? I bought raw sunflower seeds to make sunflower seed butter which I soaked and dehydrated but don’t know if I should keep it raw or roast the seeds? I just want whichever tastes the best!
KathEats says
I always prefer roasted things
Angel7 says
I always put milk in my iced & hot coffee, & like it a lot better that way!
Hopefully, you get everything you need at the baby shower 🙂 How exciting!

that lil towel is so cute! And man, I can’t wait for fall since it’s my fave season and the seasonal food is the best during fall! and maybe it’s a good thing I’m not an avid Etsy person–now I remember why I don’t go on there as much as I would like to 😛
MegS @ Beauty of Meg says
Haha! Etsy is an addiction. A good one though 😉
I love shopping on Etsy!!
Cait's Plate says
I always find myself justifying Etsy purchases and need to snap myself out of it. It’s just too tempting sometimes!
Amanda @ flecksofgreen says
Adorable towel! Thanks for sharing the link too–I just checked it out and I think I might have to some major shopping 🙂
Amelia @ Eating Made Easy says
Just wait til he’s actually here! You’ll love him so much the temptation is even greater!
Elizabeth Austin says
I know the feeling- I have two children, a boy and a girl, and with each pregnancy I would get soooo far into the Etsy Baby universe, I’d be drowning in handknit booties and monogrammed bibs. It’s a dangerous place!
Vanessa says
Thing is, about that crib sheet, you might end up co-sleeping! We had the most beautiful Pottery Barn crib set up and a gorgeous nursery. We chose love (and cosleeping) over beauty and moved little one into our room. We are so glad we did. Things change when you get that babe in your arms. Just to warn you. We lost so much money though on that darn crib. Someone got it as a steal on craigslist!
Erin @ erinberries says
My older sister got customer crib sheets and a custom full bed set for her first baby. The sheets are really cute, but were SO expensive.
Fran@ Broken Cookies Don't Count says
I love Anything Lime!! Love the towel!
Lexi @ You, Me, & A World to See says
Mmmm I like milk in iced coffee for the same reason!!
Jessie @ Graze With Me says
Oh boy I remember the crazed Etsy shopping days of pregnancy. ????But now that my little one is here I’m addicted to zulily.com, I have the app on my phone and it’s too tempting!
