Howdy! [Please pardon these awful photos!! I had no choice]
First I gotta give a shout out to that fabulous breakfast [that I can’t stop thinking about!] It held me over from 7-1PM no problem! Must have been the perfect blend of macronutrients 🙂
We broke for lunch at 1PM. Got a hummus wrap.
This guy was GIANT! Maybe 2 pounds!? Whole wheat tortilla (of of those big burrito ones) filled with some hummus, tomatoes, cuc, lettuce, jalapenos, sprouts and oregano. It was quite good!
About halfway through I reached fork mode. I ate about 80% of the guy, just leaving the butt of the tortilla (to try to shave a few calories off since I know how big they can be.)
On the side: a nice little orange.
With some lemonade-spiked water –
ADIOS!
Freya @ Brit Chick Runs says
Oohh that wrap looks lovely! Giant but good 🙂 You can totally afford the carbs – isn’t your half mary tomorrow!?
Enjoy the afternoon 😀
Sarah Jayne says
Delicious! And I adore the packet of Texas Petes in that last shot 😉 We found some in an airport a while back, and I grabbed a couple big BIG handfuls to take with me!! I keep some in my top drawer at work to spice, literally, up my lunches..
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
i always say that chipotle burritos are the size of a small child! sometimes burritos are ridiculously large – but i love ’em!
Jessica @ How Sweet says
That is cool that the RD’s get to eat for free! And also cool that it is reasonably priced!
Beth @ Beth's Journey to Thin says

That’s one massive burrito! It’s like Chipotle, where my friends and I always joke we get burrito babies. 😉
Sarah-Mae @ Eat, Run, Knit says
I agree, that burrito looks deliciously large!
Congrats on finishing your first week and best of luck tomorrow!
Becky @ flybynyght says
‘Wrapping’ up week 1…..hahahah…that must have been intentional. If it wasn’t, that’s even better!! 😉 Have a great weekend!
Jen says
Wraps are such an easy on-the-go lunch. I don’t have them that often, but when I do, I love ’em! How are the shoes doing today?? GOOD LUCK tomorrow!
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) says
Lots of math-related stuff with being an RD for sure! (especially clinical, I think!) 😀
Your wrap looks fabulous!
Estela @ Weekly Bite says
You’re bringing back so many memories of being an intern! 🙂

Wanna-be nutrition student here so I’m interested in what you mean with the math. I’m good at math, but what makes the clinical rotation different from the others with it??
Kath says
What do you mean “the others with it?”
It’s simple math – algebra! Multiplication. Fun stuff!
Melissa says
Haha wow that doesn’t make much sense, does it? Sorry I’m knee deep in studying Chem and Bio 101 right now for tests next week and my mind is all over the place. I meant your other internships, but it makes sense that clinical would be the most math-heavy of the three. Right now Chem equations are still a bit intimidating but algebra and multiplication are definitely fun!
(I promise not to comment in the middle of studying mitosis again 😉 )
Kath says
Clinical is WAY easier then Chemistry 🙂
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
The wrap is huge but looks delicious! You’re lucky to have such good food available to you!
Heather C says
Hey there!
Sounds like you’re enjoying the Clinical Rotation so far 🙂 I did my Dietetic Internship last year and remember those hospitals days very well! I just found your blog through a variety of other foodie bloggers (Anne P, Caitlin, etc) and first of all – LOVE. Secondly, that page of oatmeal?! OMG. No words. I ‘ll probably stare at it for days; and then start trying them one by one. A-mazing.
Kath says
🙂
carrie says
definitely agreed! the oatmeal page is my FAVORITE!!!! 🙂
Ashley says
Still love the photos!! I want that burrito NOW..just came back from the gym and i’m RAVenous!! Watch out 😉
Jenn (www. j3nn.net ) says
I had GIANT burrito at Chipotle the other day. It was SO big, but SO good, I really wanted to finish it all lol. I need to eat wraps more often, they are so much fun. 🙂

Texas Pete is the best hot sauce, it makes everything taste better!

Big wraps are my fave!!! I dont eat the full wrap most of the time but it’s nice to have the option so you’re not left wanting more!!
Christy says
It’s great to hear all of your internship experiences… I’ll be there in a year from now so I love to keep up with what you’re learning/doing during your rotations! Keep the info comin’! 🙂 Thanks!
Cait (Cait's Plate) says
That breakfast did look amazing but that lunch doesn’t look half bad either!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE huge wraps (even if you have to eat them with a fork!). Happy Friday Kath!
Melissa G says
Just wantet to clarify for all the RD wanna-be’s. The math that Kath is talking about is really very simple, and all done with a calculator. You need to have a basic understanding of alegbra, but really it’s super easy and anyone can learn it with the right teacher. I’ve been an RD for 8 years and I can do it in my sleep now. So if you want to go into the nutrition field, do not let math hold you back.! Glad you had a first good week Kath!
Melissa says
This is good to read! I am good at math and definitely enjoy working with numbers…but its nice to know not to be intimidated by it 🙂 Thanks!
Hannah says
Ooooh, an out-of-the-ordinary lunch! Shaking things up a bit, I like it 😀
lynn (The Actors Diet) says

I love hummus wraps!
Stacey@http://stacey-healthylife.blogspot.com/ says
Those burrito tortilla’s can be way to big sometimes. Halfway through I usually have to grab a fork and just eat the inside also.
