Back at the bakery! Mmmmm it smells good in here!
I’ve been working on paperwork stuff – Matt tends to let that slide when I’m gone! I gotta keep the office in tip top organized shape!
I brought a salad from home filled with mixed greens, cucs, tomatoes, black beans and blue cheese and added tofu and Dakota end pieces for croutons. Plus olive oil, honey and lavender salt for dressings.
Plum on the side. And when I tried to make it plumb with parenthesis THIS appeared automatically!
Weird! Must be a sign to have a beer!I’m working here till 3:30 then headed to dance and possibly, the pool!
Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance says

I have always wondered about tofu (taste, texture, health benefits, brands, etc.) but have never been brave enough to try it! It would be so great if you did a ‘tofu’ feature in an upcoming post!

I recently tried a combo similar to your honey, olive oil, and lavendar salt topping and it was awesome! New favorite way to dress a salad (and so simple!)

I run Kilwins Chocolate Shoppe with my fiancee. I can we are the same in that I always am the one to organize the office. I find myself saying ” Isn’t there a file folder for that? Then lets put it in the correct file!”. I think its a guy thing. Or maybe he just knows I’ll do it if he doesn’t!

Question regarding bringing your salads from home: Do you put dressing (or EVOO etc. in your case) on your salad as you prepare it so it’s already on and ready to eat, OR do you bring that stuff on the side and dress your salad right before you eat it? I bring a salad to work with me on a regular basis and have a really nifty container that holds the dressing that you can just turn and dump on top of the salad and then shake it all together. However, it is a HUGE container that takes up my entire lunch bag, and since I eat breakfast at work as well, I need room for a LOT of food! Plus, it’s made of plastic and I would really rather be eating my lunch in a glass container.
KathEats says
I put it on before I leave my house. I think because both honey and oil are thick, they don’t make the lettuce soggy. I also don’t use too much – maybe a 1/2 to 1 tsp of each
Sweet and Savvy says
Yay for baking! Hope you Have a great day. 🙂 the salad looks great!

spicy plum chutney..i want it!
I buy TJ’s spicy mango chutney by the JAR LOAD! I love chutneys that are fruit based but also with some heat/spice.
And that embroidered dish towel reminds me of my childhood w/ my grandma and helping her embroider. Such a sweet towel!

Lexi @ A Spoonful of Sunshine says
I love the smell of lavender, but I’ve always been a little bit put off by the “soapy” taste. Do you find that the lavender sea salt is very strongly flavored?
Just curious 😀
KathEats says
I used to think it was soapy too – because that was my only association with it. Now that I eat it often, it’s more of a food than a soap! And it’s made me like the soaps more!
Lexi @ A Spoonful of Sunshine says
Haha that sounds awesome! I’ll have to give it another try 🙂
Namaste Gurl says
Aw, the pool. That sounds so refreshing. Have a wonderful rest of the day!

Okay I have to know…where did you get the lavender salt from? Every store I’ve been to (in Canada) from Whole Foods to independent health stores to fancy grocery stores do not have lavender salt. I thought about making my own but I don’t want to mess up a bunch of dried lavender.
KathEats says
The San Francisco Farmer’s Market. You can make your own – check out Gracefulfitness.wordpress.com
Dominique says
Thanks for the speedy reply. Would you suggest a fine sea salt or a more flake-like sea salt?
KathEats says
Id go with bigger crystals
