He’s on the inside, I’m outside. But we spent the morning together!
We played ball games
We took a hot shower
We listened to TLC’s Waterfalls
We put on delicious baby lotions
We played with Sophie
And we read a book!
We worked up quite an appetite!
I used two of the hard-boiled eggs I made last night to make Deviled Eggs for One. I have GOT to start keeping hard-boiled eggs on hand all the time – so convenient!
Some of my eggs broke when I took the yolks out, but they were just as tasty. Served over a salad dressed in olive oil, honey and salt and featuring garden tomato!
Cheese and crackers on the side
I am loving this raspberry leaf iced tea so much that I don’t care if it’s for my uterus or not – it’s great to have an iced tea that’s decaf and yet has a flavor like black tea.
Have a great afternoon!
Lisa says
I was given that Noodle and Boo lotion by a friend right before my 4th son was born. I think I used half the bottle before he even arrived! I love it!
Lindsay says
I was drinking iced raspberry leaf for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy and i finally made myself another jar of it yesterday. I forgot how much I love it!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
hopefully you’ll be doing these things with baby on the outside soon! And I can’t remember the last time I had deviled eggs, so good!
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
Crossing my fingers for you! You must be getting tired of the waiting game.
Stephanie @ Steph's Miles says

Aw..such a cute post! 🙂 I love that salad. It looks delicious! I haven’t had hardboiled eggs in a long time. I really love them.
Katie@Real Food Katie's Way says
That salad looks fantastic!! Devil led eggs in a salad! You just blew my mind Kath!
Becky says
I fell in love with raspberry leaf tea so much that all these years later, I still drink it regularly.
Sarah says
Hey Kath just curious- does Karen go to the bakery everyday or does she pop in and out like you?
KathEats says
She pops in and out
Mom says
So glad you are reading with baby. Start on the Mother Goose next. Maybe he will be born reciting Mother Goose rhymes. Remember, he is getting a quiz from Grandma when he is three (well maybe we’ll give him until he’s four).
Robyn says
Does this mean you’ve started labor? Maybe I’m reading too much into your post, but I know sometimes you can be cryptic. ;0) if you are, awesome! If not, hang in there. :0)
KathEats says
Nope. Just trying to get my mind in the right place.
Natasha says
I think it is already there.
Rachel says
awww such a cute post 🙂 You two seem to be having a great day 🙂
j3nn says
Glad you two had a good time today and a nice lunch! 🙂
Susan says
Such a sweet post! I can only imagine how even more loving you’ll be when you have that little guy in your arms.
Robyn says
Good preparatio!
Chelsea @ Dine & Dash Diaries says
Cute post! What type of tea are you drinking? Looks delish.
Love the giraffe. It’s so cute to see what sorts of things you’ll be doing with baby when he’s out! Enjoy the last of pregnancy!
Christine says
Do you have a contraction app yet?
KathEats says
The baby bump app has one built in. Now if only I could feel one to test it out!
Annette @FitnessPerks says
YAY! He’s almost out soon–enjoy these last few moments/days!
Kimberly says
Too funny…I love how much you interact with Berf in utero. I know some people talk to their babies or play music for them before they’re born, but you seem to spend so much time focused on him. Love they you “played ball” with him…not sure how he played with the giraffe in there though lol! It’s sweet.
KathEats says
Well it’s not really all that much…. Blog post creativity mostly 🙂
Stephanie @ Food and Fitness 4 Real says
Do you feel like a ticking time bomb? I remember the last few weeks of my pregnancy, I was highly aware of any change in my body and kept looking for the signs of labor. My work sent me home about two weeks before my due date because they were afraid I was too far from the hospital. I tried to relax and enjoy the time off but I would wake up every day and think. “Maybe today is the day!”
I loved reading to my babies before they were born. Both of them recognized my voice right away because they had been hearing me read and talk to them for months!
Becky says
Go to one of those foot reflexology places ASAP! They wanted to induce my second one who was being slow about coming- I read somewhere that reflexology can sometimes induce labor, so I went on my lunch break one day. Exactly 12 hours later, I had my first contraction and 3 hours after that my little guy was born! No time for an epidural—but I will you what- my first labor took 16 hours, water broke, had an epidural etc- second labor was 3 hours start to finish and although much more painful overall, I felt amazing afterwards! The natural endorphins that your body produces being drug free are out of this world!! 🙂
Good luck to you!
Amy Wiginton says
Totally, totally agree with this idea!!! I thought maybe after your pedi some things might start to happen…
jennifer says
Girl, the only thing left for you to do is eat pineapple. lots of pineapple!
Nadine says
Is tomorrow your due date? I hope Baby KERF comes soon!

What book is that? So cute!
Also, TLC’s Waterfalls is a classic 🙂
KathEats says
It’s called Foodie Babies Wear Bibs 🙂
Kavi says
LOL, didn’t realize that was the title! Thanks. That would be a cute gift for some upcoming baby showers I have!
polly says

i was considering what to have for a late lunch, and right when i was about to give up, you posted this. i made some deviled eggs, and they were a GREAT addition to my leftover tomato soup 🙂
Karen says
I have subscribed to your blog for quite awhile, and I am planning on starting a blog for my home childcare. I was browsing through your favorite posts, in general exploring your site because you do such a good job with it! Anyway, I came across the post for “conception of baby KERF,” it brought a tear to my eye thinking of your journey over the last 9 months. Congratulations and best of wishes. Tomorrow is my youngest daughters 11th birthday, so that is probably where a little of my nostalgic thought’s come into play! Best of luck with delivery, enjoy every moment with your little boy. I have been very impressed with your frame of mind during your pregnancy and how you have cherished the time. Very inspiring for other mothers to be.

I love red raspberry leaf. It’s great to keep drinking postpartum for recovery, too. I wonder if you’ve increased your intake of evening primrose? I had been taking it orally, but after 2 nights of taking it the other way in addition, I went into labor. I had already had some progression for a few weeks, so who knows if that just helped tip the scales or not, but it’s worth trying. It’s great you’re soaking up these last few days – I remember thinking about how it was the last time I would do certain things alone for a long time. Definitely try to sneak in some more naps!
KathEats says
I haven’t done it the other way. My doula doesn’t seem to think it’s worth the mess. She said by mouth is most important. So I haven’t bothered yet…
beth says
Got it. I used mine at bedtime wearing a thin liner & it was just fine.
KathEats says
Maybe ill add it mid next week. Can’t hurt!
Angel7 says
I LOVE iced tea!!! I could drink it everyday. My fave iced tea is one that someone I know makes. It is just regular tea with mint, & I think it may have sugar in it as well, but not a lot. And it is very refreshing!

that book is absolutely adorable….”foodie babies wear bibs”. i love it 🙂
The Other Kath says
I LOVE dressed eggs and yours look delish! Help me understand the lack of acid in your salad dressing, though. Is this a dietary restriction? I can’t imagine just honey and oil…I have to use vinegar or citrus and a dash of mustard to emulsify my dressings. I usually skip sweeteners in my vinaigrette since there are so many vinegars with “sweet” notes like champagne, good balsamic or sherry vinegar.
KathEats says
I just find vinegar to over power salads. Not that I don’t like a good balsamic dressing, but at home I like my salads on the simple side.
Nicole says
Do you use any kind of measurement for your dressing (like 1 part EVOO and 2 parts honey) or do you just throw them both in with a dash here and a dash there? Been wanting to try that combo on my salads but not sure where to start since I don’t want my salad to be too sweet.
KathEats says
Just a drizzle of each!
Brie @ Impatient Baker says
After you’ve hardboiled the eggs and drain out the hot water, smash the eggs around in the pan so that all the shells are cracked, then immerse them in the cold 🙂 they literally peel with ONE peel after this, rather than in little bits! So nice. (Can you tell I love hard-boiled eggs?)
KathEats says
Really? That would be so convenient!
Brie @ Impatient Baker says
Definitely! Just smash them up good (I just jiggle the pan and they all hit the sides), ice ’em down for 5 minutes, and peel! Wondrous.
Deirdre @ Oh Well Whatever.com says
Baby watch is on!!! Isn’t sitting on that ball the best? Love it!
Kim@hungryhealthygirl says
Looks like you and the little guy are having a great day! I have never put deviled eggs on my salad and I have a salad almost everyday….I’m gong to have to give that a try.
Jenica says
Looks like you two had a great day together. He’ll be here soon!
Lauryn says
Aw Kath, I dont usually ever comment but that was so sweet how you spent time with your baby even with him still in the belly. I cant wait to have a baby, we have been married 6 years and we absoutley cannot wait!! You almost brought tears to my eyes, its so sweet, I am so excited for you and I cant wait till you can hold your little man! Love the pic of you and daddy in the back ground too, so precious!!
Averie @ Averie Cooks says
I am a coffee over tea drinker, always, but love red rasp leaf tea, too. Something about it is just so refreshing!
The salad dressed in olive oil, honey a garden tomato with those trisuits is simple perfection. Love that!
Rhapsody says
OK, I wasn’t fully paying attention when the page popped up and for a long second I thought the first picture of the exercise ball was your baby bump! Anyone else want to confess the same?
kristen @ verbs and vignettes says
your deviled eggs look so good! like a mildly more healthy version of my mom’s on Easter. hers are fantastic, but just a liiiiiittle too much mayo to want more than one or two a year. 😉
Karen says
How sweet…this is so adorable! I think I’ve checked in 5 times today hoping for some progress! I have a strong feeling that as a child of yours he’s going to be relatively punctual 🙂
Have a good evening, Kath!
Cait's Plate says
I agree you can’t beat the convenience of hard boiled eggs…yet for some reason I don’t use them nearly as much as I should.
Sarah @ Fresh Living says
I haven’t check in on your blog for a while because I was at my summer cottage that didn’t have internet. Lovely post today! Good luck with everything…

I don’t leave the house without it….although I rarely put it on heavily.
Melissa says
Um, Yum (your salad)!!! 🙂

Cute! Curious: do you think you might eat differently if you weren’t blogging your food everyday and photographing it? I mean, do you jazz things – colors, add extras to dishes – up sometimes for the blog?
KathEats says
