Thanks for all your nice compliments on my wedding photos 🙂 I have decided to start a wedding photography business: If you invite Matt and me to your wedding and allow us to blend in with the guests, enjoy a few drinks and feed us your wedding cake, I will blog about the experience and have a blog post of photos (and a video – which I made for C+J) ready that night to share with your family and friends! All the details, especially the food, will be documented for free!
Only kidding. Well, sort of. I would happily come to all of your weddings if travel weren’t an obstacle. Oh, and the fact that you probably don’t want some random couple as your guests 🙂
Matt and I went out running today to Jefferson’s house and back. Normally I despise getting in a car to go for a run, but the Monticello Trail is worth it. It’s two miles totally UP hill to Jefferson’s and then two miles back DOWN. But the hill is just steep enough to make running UP and DOWN possible. And the scenery is gorg!
Once home I showered while Matt made lunch!
Herring salad made with carrot, pepper, basil, mayo, mustard and tomato
Scooped up with chips
Buttered grilled corn
And grilled broc tossed in Worcestershire and Garlic Gold Nuggets
Tasted pretty awesome!!
This afternoon I have a walking date with a new friend followed by a dinner date with another new friend!! Good times.
CJ says
It’d be perfect…and so random…
‘how do you know the bride and groom?’
‘oh we were college roommates, how do you know the bride and groom?’
‘oh, she reads my blog and comments occasionally and just invited me to come and take pictures for the blog’ haha

You’re really filling up with the lighter, healthier meals today! 😀 Sounds perfect.
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
We are having grilled corn in a few hours – I can’t wait!
Freya (Brit Chick Runs) says
I love that lunch! The chips look so lovely 🙂
Feel free to photo my wedding – though also feel equally free to find me a groom first..the first obstacle!
Christine says
So true!
Evan Thomas says
Kath, you are totally invited to take pictures at my wedding. I just need to find a date for Friday night first, ha!
Katie @ peacebeme says
Where do you get herring? Is it canned? I am trying to eat more Omega-3’s because I think the healthy fats really help with my depression but I hate taking the supplements!
Kath says
Next to the sardines!
Alexa @ The Girl In Chucks says
Corn is following me everywhere…
….I will be having it for lunch also. I wish mine had been grilled instead of boiled.
I think you should attend all of your reader’s weddings. I don’t have any interest in marriage….but I do like cake, so it might be worth it! 😉

That trail looks amazing!
Steph says
You can totally come to my wedding! It would be awesome to have someone JUST in charge of blogging about my wedding. It seriously sounds like an awesome idea. I’m getting married in September of 2011 in New Hampshire!
Kath says
If you’re serious, I’m serious 🙂
Steph says
Okay, once the wedding plans become more solid, I will seriously let you know! It is definitely a real possibility and would be fun!
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
Seriously, how cool would it be to be a wedding photographer? Sure there may be pressure..but you’re doing what you love and you get t obe around all the excitement! In the middle of the excitement actually! 😛
Ashley @ Nourishing the Soul says
I actually think the photo business is absolutely genius. You totally wouldn’t have to do it for free either! Just charge beer, wedding cake, and a few hundred dollars. You’ll be in business is no time 😉
Sandy says
I love that trail. You would totally be invited to my wedding, except we’ve already been married 29 years. Too bad you weren’t in town for my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding last year at Keswick.
Stacey (The Habit of Healthy) says
The trail looks so scenic and beautiful. I hate running uphill and the only thing that keeps me going is the nice downhill that inevitable follows!
Heather says
Sounds like a great day you have planned! I wish I had a trail near my apartment to run on – I would love a change in scenery.
Love grilled corn! Never thought to toss broccoli with Worcestershire and garlic gold – sounds like a great combo.
Laura says
If YOU provide the food for the weddings, i’m pretty sure the bride and groom would PAY for your travel!!! xx
Kristine says
Haha! What if the blog reader covered the travel costs?!?! That would be a fun little business for you! 🙂
holly @ couchpotatoathlete says
You may be kidding, but have you considered taking pictures at weddings? I know you’ll be busy when the bakery opens up, but it would definitely be something you’re good at!
Grilled corn sounds so good — I wish I had some!
Sarah K. @ The Pajama Chef says
that trail looks so great! i always have to drive to run unfortunately. 🙁 my apt is off a busy road so i prefer to stay alive! haha. kind of. but seriously, it’s only a couple minute drive to a bike path so that’s where i do most of my runs.
Camille says
What a tasty, fresh looking lunch! Score!
Caitlin (EatFeats) says
Wedding-cake-eater would be the best job evarrrr.
Sam @ thesecondlunch says
Well, you’ve left me with a craving for fish 🙂 And garlic gold. I broke down two weeks ago and bought them (they were on sale here in SF at Rainbow grocery, and possibly still are for about 7 dollars)… So, so good!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
YUM! Great lunch! Enjoy your afternoon. Looks like a beautiful Sunday!

Those wedding pictures were absolutely gorgeous…I feel like the couple loved having an extra photographer there!! And that lunch looks delicious. I’m always amazed at how you constantly manage to turn such basic foods into such wonderful creations!

My fiance and I just picked up a big back of corn on the cob today. I can’t wait to eat some! It’s probably one of my favourite foods.
Amber K says
lol, can you imagine going to EVERYONE’s weddings? You’d be one busy girl!
I actually got married almost four years ago and I still haven’t gotten to see the wedding video. I’m thinking my husband’s uncle isn’t ever going to finish it!
Lindsey @ Gingerbread Bagels says
The grilled corn on the cob looks sooo good. It’s been forever since I’ve had it.
Have fun with your new friends today! 🙂
Katie says
There is nothing that screams late summer like grilled corn on the cob. Any meal goes from ok to fabulous if you add it.
Liz @ Tip Top Shape says
That trail does look beautiful!! It must be cool to take a jog up to Jefferson’s house. How historical!
Heather says
that trail looks so pretty!
oh, and I LOVE wedding cake!
Steph says
Well, I don’t have a wedding date yet, sometime next fall. But I would love for you to come! Your pictures I so gorgeous, so that would be awesome for you to come be my special wedding photo blogger guest 🙂 Matt can come too if he brings us some bread!
Kath says
Maybe our bakery can do bread at the reception!
Diana @ frontyardfoodie says
Good business idea…..except it doesn’t pay!
I hate driving to run too but sometimes doing the same old neighborhood run gets old!
barefootgirl (our first CSA) says
seriously?? this is an awesome idea…… you would be perfect at it!!
too bad I’m already married….
maybe a 25th anniversary party?
Lisa @bakebikeblog says
oooh that looks like a wonderful lunch to me! Love the corn!

That corn looks very tasty. I haven’t had it in a long while.

I think being a wedding photographer would be absolutely the funnest job ever. A little bit of pressure, yes, but still fun. Especially if a free meal was involved…haha. 😀

What a great day! I love scenic runs like that.

Jasmine @ Eat Move Write says
You’re very talented when it comes to photography. I think you should actually offer that service. Seriously!
Laura (spokesnoats) says
Come on over! I’m getting married next weekend.
Kath says
Where!?
chelsey @ clean eating chelsey says
Well, if I would have known the wedding thing earlier, I would have had you come out to Chicago a few months ago (no it would not have coincided with HLS!). That is too funny
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
There are so many places that I’ve been tempted to drive to, just so that I can run there. So far I’ve just stuck to around my neighbourhood, but I feel like I can only look at the same houses and the same views so many times. It would be nice to get some variety!
Diana says
A coconut GH muffin!!!! I want one! Yum! 🙂
Laura (Starloz) says
oh oh, corn is just so great. i’m obsessed!
Lauren says
Hahaha, I would have definitely invited you to my wedding! 🙂
Jil @ Peace, Love & Munchies says
Gorgeous scenery!! and the corn on the cob…mmmMmm good.
Paige (Running Around Normal) says
I’ve never had grilled corn, but it looks so good! I’ve actually only boiled it.

Anne@ Food Loving Polar Bear says
That herring salad looks delicious 🙂

Love your blog. I am fascinated by those dark coloured chips. What are they? I don’t think we have an Australian equivalent so I am really intruiged.
