Must come down.
We’re dropping rain from the sky this morning. But in exchange for a rain-free wedding weekend, I’ll get my toes wet today.
I went from insomnia to accidental oversleeping today. All I had time for was a bowl of cereal and lots of fresh berries. Fortunately I might have chosen this breakfast anyways it was so good!
Honey Bunches and Morning Ohs (the last of each) with blueberries and blackberries, milk and sunbutter.
Happy Monday! I’m so confused what week it is I’ve been traveling so much. But I’m home for a month now!
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
Your breakfast looks great! I’ve been wanting fresh berries lately. I must pick them up from the grocery store today 🙂
Caroline @ After Dinner Dance says
I haven’t had cereal in so long! Sometimes it just hits the spot!
Allie@LiveLaughEat says
You passed your insomnia to me! Thanks for the reminder that I got that bowl on clearance a year ago and still haven’t used it yet.
Sana says
I love combining different cereals together, especially when they are almost gone!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says

Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
your bowl is soooo pretty! You really have the best stuff!
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
I had blackberries this morning too. They are so massive and juicy in ATL right now. I think this is one of the best fruit seasons we’ve had in a while!
Courtney @ Translating Nutrition says
Logistics question out of curiosity: when you put a nut butter with a bowl of cereal or yogurt, do you mix it in to the milk/yogurt? Does it taste good like that? Random question, I know 🙂
KathEats says
I eat it off the spoon a little at a time till it’s gone
Ann says
My grandpa always does that with Saksatoon Berry Jam in Saskaatchewan! 🙂
Ann says
*Saskatoon
Jen says
i don’t understand kath?! do you spoon cereal and berries and milk into your mouth with the same spoon that is filled with nut butter? i wanna know the details of this lol… 🙂
KathEats says
Yup!
Jen says
this really impresses me and if i ever get to see you (again) in person i am making you do it for me!!! 🙂 your spoon is too small i don’t believe you can do it hehe. ok?!
KathEats says
Well first I lick some off, then I pile on some berries and get some more in another bite….it’s probably all gone in the first 10 bites 🙂 Then I just eat the cereal normally!
Jen says
i love you for responding again! seriously most dedicated blogger ever. have a wonderful evening kath 🙂

I’d take rain for a rain-free wedding weekend any time. Heck, around here- we’d just take rain!!!! ….Those berries would make my baby kick up a storm- the little one loves fruit!!!!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Yum, I’m loving blackberries right now too! I just had a whole bunch in a smoothie this morning… and I don’t even know how many were consumed in the smoothie making process straight out of the container! Enjoy being back at home. I love traveling but it’s always nice to come back to your own bed!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
I’ve started putting protein powder or peanut flour in my cereal with fruit on top…it is such a great treat! Sorry you’re running behind today. Hopefully you are at least getting some much needed rest!
Lindsey @ Pas de Deux says
Beautiful berries! I love berries with Cheerios and milk–such a perfect combination!
lynn @ the actor's diet says

Mmm those berries look delish! I just picked up a carton of bloobs and blackberries for a dollar each from the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market! #whatadeal Happy Monday!
Hope says
Because of you I have recentlyy purchased almond butter and sunflower butter. I am in love. So, so much better than regular peanut butter.
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
YUM! All those berries look so delicious! And thanks for reminding me I need to get some more sun butter… 😉
Cait's Plate says
It really always is so confusing when you get back from traveling a lot to figure out what day is what and to get back on a regular schedule. Glad you got a couple extra zzz’s in – you probably needed them!
wesley @ the way home says
Wow, those berries look beautiful. There’s nothing better than good berries, and they are so hard to find these days!
Emily says
Hi, Kath!
I’m a relatively new follower, but you (and my blood test results) have inspired me to buy some chia seeds. I tried them for the first time this morning – I put some in my cereal. The texture that was created, however…not so good. Any suggestions? I’d like to get them into my diet, but would definitely prefer if they didn’t get all slimy on the outside by the time they reach my mouth. I was thinking maybe yogurt…
KathEats says
Unfortunately that’s the nature of chia seeds – and the very reason why I love them!! I love the slime. If you put them in a smoothie they would be ground up better and you probably wouldn’t notice the slime
Maria@Sinfully Nutritious says
If you can get over the chia texture, I love the slime too, try hempseeds.
Erin says
I notice the texture in smoothies and cereal (although I like it), but I do NOT notice it at all when I put chia seeds into oatmeal. Try that way.
Elyse says
I’m visiting Charlottesville from CA and I’m currently wearing a dress in this rain. Feeling a bit silly because it’s pouring 🙂 Love this city though!
KathEats says
Enjoy your stay!
Liz @ Tip Top Shape says
Those berries are making my mouth water!!
Amanda @ flecksofgreen says
Very antioxidant friendly breakfast! It looks very good. I am glad the wedding was rain free! I am one to have the attitude of “bring on the rain” during the week–as long as it means a beautiful weekend 🙂
Ashley @ Hudson on the Potomac says
Jealous of your berry-ful breakfast! Lots of antioxidants this AM!
Averie @ Averie Cooks says
I love blue and blackberries. Perfect summer breakfast!
Alex says
Hi Kath!
I have been dying to try this breakfast but struggle with proportions and feeling like I have gotten enough of my needed nutrients.
When your make your unreliable looking cereal breakfasts, how much of each ingredient do you use?
I know weird question but been dying to know!
KathEats says
I don’t actually measure anything…and my needs right now are probably different than yours! I’d go with 1 to 1.5 cups of a whole grain cereal with a real food ingredient list and then 1 cup of milk, 1/2-1 cup fruit and a little fat in the form of nut butter, nuts, seeds, etc.
Julia H. @ Going Gulia says
At first I thought you just had a bowl of berries in milk there! I’ve been so into cereal lately. For the longest time, my breakfast was usually greek yogurt with cereal or oats mixed in, but for the past couple of months, I’ve only wanted cereal in milk (with sliced bananas, of course!) every morning. So strange…I’m going through cereal like a machine!
Brita says
These pictures are beautiful! What a way to start a morning 🙂
@FactFinderSteph says
YUM YUM. Berries on top of cereal is my breakfast of choice! Unless it’s freezing out and then it’s oatmeal!
Annette @FitnessPerks says
Mmmmm mouthwatering berries. LOOKS so good!
Angel7 says
Wow!!! … Your breakfast was packed full of antioxidants 🙂

Jeri says
Looking at your bowl from the top, it looks so big. Then the side view it looks small. I need a small bowl for cereal. I use a Pho sized bowl. I measure the cereal and milk, but think that I need a smaller bowl to feel like I am eating alot.
Emily Butler says
I’ve been consuming large amounts of fresh fruit lately as well, I’ve been so busy it’s so easy to have bunches laying around the snack on!
Fran@ Broken Cookies Don't Count says
Delicious looking breakfast…I love berries!
Lexi @ You, Me, & A World to See says
Love nut butter on cereal! I always seem to have trouble making sure that it doesn’t sink to the bottom though 🙁
