We had one awesome weekend!! While it started under my umbr-ella-ella-ella it ended with an awesome two days of warm sun.
Friday night we dodged rain showers to make an appearance downtown. We didn’t stay at Fridays long, but just enough to catch this video of Mazen dancin’
We had plans for a picnic, but due to the soggy ground, we ate at Citizen Burger instead. Love that place! I had a glass of wine, the most delicious beet, goat cheese + candied pecan salad and half a traditional grass-fed burger. And all the sweet potato fries!
Saturday we had a glorious day to make up for the rain! Matt took the day off too, which made it extra special.
We headed to the city market where we browsed vendors and I picked up a Juice Laundry green juice.
We all enjoyed it : )
Cville was celebrating the Dogwood Festival with a parade, so we settled down at Lee Park to watch with friends.
It was a great parade!
Later that night we had friends over for a last-minute cookout!
A new recipe for The Shrimp Council! Coming soon.
Plus salads, grilled veggies and bread
Alice made the most delicious Chocolate Banana Bread!
Sunday was all about soccer! We played our last game of the season. I ALMOST scored – the ball swished into the back of the net on the perfect shot but unfortunately it was the outside side of the net!! Ugh!
Here are some of our girls representin’! {Missing Eva and Gaby and Meg on maternity leave!} We’re a co-ed team, but we girls keep things fun : )
I had my guys as spectators for the second half!
Sunday evening we went to a soccer cookout to end the season and enjoyed barbecued chicken, pasta salad, grilled bread, beers, strawberry pie and fresh air!

I continue to live vicariously through your sunshine and warm pictures!! 🙂 I can’t wait for eating outside and grilling parties. I think Mazen’s little green crocs are just about the cutest thing ever! He must be loving the nice weather and being able to play outside!

Great post! I have been reading for years, your blog is one of my favorites 🙂 There is one thing that I’m not loving these days and that is all of your Cook Smarts meals. I used to love seeing what you cooked each day, it was so inspirational! I feel that watching you just follow a preset mealplan each week (and then having those meals as leftovers) isn’t nearly as interesting as seeing you create these meals (and ideas for them) on your own. Personally, I joined Cooksmarts and didn’t like it so watching your meals from that website week after week and meal after meal isn’t inspirational or interesting at all. I just love your blog, I miss all of the great ideas that I used to get from your daily meals and your ideas behind how those meals came together! I know that not all of your meals are Cook Smarts, just wanted to give some feedback regarding the ones that are. Xo

I wanted to stop through Saturday to the market on my way to the Spring Game. But didn’t want to be late to tailgate. LOL! Priorities. But I will get there! I have all summer

Isn’t it crazy how quick they go from looking like babies to toddlers?! He’s looking like a toddler now, to me, anyways! 🙂
I dressed my now 5 year old in a sundress this weekend that went down to her feet – with her spaghetti straps and small wedge shoes, it amazed me how grown up she looked (broke my heart a bit too…)
