Part II of our long weekend started Friday evening with a workout class at ACAC’s EDGE!
The workout was stations plus a fun obstacle course – all 80s themed!
Afterwards we enjoyed Coronas and Brazos tacos!! Plus chips and a veggie platter. Oh and Great Harvest cookies!! TWO tacos for meeee!
Later that night we went out to watch the UVA game – happy they won that round at least. (Boooo Carolina)
Saturday AM breakfast – filling enough to get us to Richmond! Irish Soda Bread + Cinnamon Chip mini pieces, eggs, orange, cappuccino.
Sarah and I took the Sayas (plus Sawyer!) to ACAC Short Pump.
We wanted to see if all the rumors about The Royal Palace were true!
Mazen and Sylvia had nothing but good things to report about the KidsZone there. The play structure was two stories, so they were in heaven! They did not want to leave.
This was a total win-win visit because Sarah and I got in a quickie 30-minute workout…..
…and then spent the rest of our time on the rooftop pool deck!!
We ordered paninis from the cafe… I had the tomato/basil/mozzarella plus a fruit cup.
And a beer!!!! Ahhhhh the life.
We took a quick dip in the hot tub before heading to the showers (which were as nice as the two fancy spas I’ve been to!)
Yup, Short Pump was pretty epic!! We kind of felt like we were visiting our rival high school, but it was weird for it all to be free aka included in our Charlottesville location membership! Worth the 45 minute drive every now and then? Yes!!

Oh wow the rooftop pool looks awesome! My niece and nephew love big kidzone fun places, it used to be favourite “day out” as a kid too…running around and climbing until you’re dripping in sweat and in need of a refuel…it’s a real workout!

What a great gym to belong to! I’d be tempted to spend all of my time there. That view! Who/what are the Sayas?

I love Oskar Blues. We were just at their Carolina brewery a few weeks ago. The coconut brew is the best!

Ahh it looks like heaven! I live in Richmond, but in the actual city, so shortpump is 20 minutes away. I would love to join the acac out there, it’s way better than my gym. I have heard only great things! Unfortunately, ot just doesn’t make sense in my schedule to join a gym that is 20 minutes away…
