We had a calm weekend over here. One of my dear friends received some heartbreaking news, so the weekend was a bit somber.
Friday night we had no plans and ate leftovers for dinner – meatballs, noodles and an amazing kale salad with red peppers, avocados and the Whole Foods Lemon Basil dressing.
Saturday morning the boys went swimming and I headed to a power vinyasa class at Fly Dog Yoga.
Me & my space heater 🙂
The class was a good balance of strength and stretch – just what I needed. With all this soccer + running in my life, yoga is not just a fun addition but a necessity.
Afterwards – a visit into Pottery Barn. I couldn’t help but smile at the design trend recommendations I saw ; )
And then some groceries. The wine bottle bags are also great for vegetables!
Lunch was epic – smoked salmon and cream cheese on crackers plus leftover kale salad and grapes. I am craving cream cheese like a pregnant lady these days! (However, to clarify, I am not one.)
Saturday was rainy all day, so I did get a little TV time on the couch while Mazen took a nap. He needed one after a poor night’s sleep.
Saturday night the clouds parted and it was juuuuuust warm enough to enjoy drinks on our new deck before enjoying dinner with some friends.
Lauren + Miriam came over to dine before we all went to see our friend Alice’s play.
We had turkey burgers on homemade buns with salad and grilled asparagus.
Alice was brilliant in The Fantasticks! What a cute musical. Of course the vegetable song performed by the two dads was my favorite.
Sunday morning we made flax pancakes. Topped with banana, blackberries and almond butter.
I did some chores I’d been putting off – like washing the cushions on our outside couch – and meal prep.
I ate a delicious PB&J for lunch and then it was off to soccer! I’m playing on the women’s league as well as the co-ed and all of our games thus far had been canceled due to muddy fields. This week our co-ed game was cancelled and the women’s was on! It was a glorious day for soccer, muddy puddles and all. And we won!
Sunday evening Matt and I went to our friends’ house for a St. Paddy’s Day party! Irish Soda bread and beer – a match made in heaven!
We enjoyed lots of traditional Irish foods and a sampling of homebrews.
Plus stout and chocolate cupcakes with Bailey’s frosting!
We also met this cute couple who have a daughter, Megan, who is a KERF fan in Texas! HI MEGAN! We had a great time getting to know these guys and spent the whole night talking!
I think spring is just around the corner!
