I’m waddling. And not related to pregnancy. Just because my legs and feet are that sore!
Last Muffin Standing!
I sipped on an Honest Tea this afternoon because I felt like I needed some Gatorade – so thirsty and needed a boost!
Follow by a late-afternoon Oikos. Protein in my back pocket.
We celebrated another awesome day with two confetti eggs Nathan brought in! Cracked on heads.
After work (and 20 minutes with my legs elevated) we changed clothes and headed out for dinner. Not sure if it’s the tiredness or week 19, but I suddenly feel very pregnant (relative to previous weeks, not weeks ahead, mind you 😉 ) I see my stomach in my peripheral vision! Jacket also difficult to button…
We walked to Mono Loco to meet our Davidson friends Jessie and Kevin, who are visiting from DC!
And our other Davidson friend, Brian [Albers!], who lives here in Cville, joined us.
His hand or Matt’s?!
This afternoon I had the thought that I might be able to get a virgin Spice-a-Rita, my favorite mixed drink in town. When I inquired, our server was quick to say YES, they could make one with limeade!!
All the spice without any ‘rita. Guess which is which!? It was SO GOOD I didn’t miss the Tequila one bit!
We started the meal with a shared bowl of chips n salsa
And I couldn’t wait to get one of their famous burrito bowls!
This one was filled with fried oysters and crispy cod plus a poblano pimento cheese!! Plus the standard rice, beans, greens, cheese and spicy white sauce.
Deeeeelicious, but it filled me up so fast! I ate about 3/4 of this and all of a sudden I was sickly full. Fullness is so different these days.
Had to waddle home to digest!

Jen says
It must be crazy that something is changing your body – I’d be freaked out! I really don’t know how pregnant women do it! 😉 Love the photos – man, you snagged a real cutie didn’t you?! 🙂
Allison K says
That spicy drink looks amazing…but I get heartburn just thinking about it. I will not miss pregnancy heartburn….or the waddling!

Erin says
Your bump is adorable!!! Week 19 was definitely a turning point for me as well, in the “I definitely FEEL pregnant” department. Enjoy every bit of it…it is absolutely as amazing and life changing as you think it is going to be. Even more so! I’m at 36 weeks right now. Make sure to take time to pamper yourself in the weeks ahead! 🙂
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says

Ahh, your Toms look so cute – I’ve been coveting them lately. Hope you can recover from your long days at the bakery and have a relaxing, fun, and chocolate-filled day tomorrow 🙂
Amanda Cowan says
Two things: A) that pic at the top with the lone muffin, your belly really pops there! You are just going to get rounder and rounder! So cute!
B) When I was pregnant with my 3rd I craved that sour lime-y icyness of margaritas constantly and was always suggesting mexican so I could get some virgin ones.. yum!!! So refreshing and tart!
Kerry @ Totes My Oats says
Look at that baby bump! Too cute – you look so happy!
j3nn says
That burrito bowl looks SO delicious!!! Not your ordinary burrito bowl, for sure. Yum!!
Kylie @ immaeatthat says
Oh I love burrito bowls. And this one looks classy with all those fresh greens on top! : )
Khushboo says
You’re glowing Kath :)! Have you and Matt started thinking about names for baby Berf?
KathEats says
Thinking, yes. But we won’t share till he’s born 🙂
sb says
Do you mind explaining why you’re waiting on sharing the name? I’ve heard of other people doing the same thing, but I’ve never heard an explanation about the motivation for keeping the name private for a few months…
KathEats says
We’re waiting until he’s born to see if the name suits him. Plus we don’t want any feedback until it’s official
sb says
Thanks for the reply. I understand better now.
Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope says
I can imagine what a crazy busy weekend this is for a bakery! Sounds like you are both enjoying it though! 🙂
That burrito bowl looks fantastic too!
Daphna says
What’s in that drink? It looks great!
KathEats says
Limeade, jalapenos and juice, club soda, lime…. I think?
emily says
I think reading “poblano pimento cheese” actually made me a bit dizzy! Yum x 1000. I had a chile relleno with dinner tonight but we were at a random rest stop place and it was too fried and icky.
Janine says
Your belly really looks pregnant now!! You look great pregnant too, it really suits you. Sorry you are not feeling too well. Hope tomorrow is better.
Averie @ Averie Cooks says
Love the two-tone salsas…so pretty.
And the opening pic of you…that is the first yes, she is truly pregnant, picture I think you’ve posted. The bump is adorable and you look great Kath (although you could still pass for telling someone you just ate 3 burritos and 2 beers and are bloated and they’d believe you…I would!)
Happy Easter to the THREE of you 🙂
jojo says
It’s always good to be busy than not right?
That’s great that you guys are doing awesome 🙂

Looks like an awesome meal! I love when friends come to visit! It makes weekends so much more enjoyable and fun!
Brittnie (A Joy Renewed) says
Love your bump. I am waddling too! At 36 weeks I really can’t it – Ha! At my dr appt last week he reported that the baby dropped and is head down (which is good!) but it sure isn’t helping the fashionable waddle walk. 🙂 You look great!
robin says
AWWW, look at that baby tummy, now you definitely look preggers.
Zoe @ loseweightandgainhealth says
You have a real baby tummy in that first photo :-). I think it is incredible how our bodies adapt to fit in that growing baby – you look really healthy which is great.
Ashley @ Coffee, Cake and Cardio says
Awe, you look so cute! Happy Easter!
Amelia says
Oh man, I can so vividly remember the feeling in lower half after a day on my feet! By week 23-ish I was getting cankles if I didn’t pause to elevate my feet once every hour or so. Crazy!
Lexi @ Cura Personalis Foodie says
I never thought of the gatorade thing, but I totally get that way sometimes too!
Erin says
Aweeee so happy for you! You’re so cute pregnant. ( you don’t know me but I love reading your blog)
