I heart holidays!!
So does my little turkey.
{Gobble onesie by KERF reader Jacks & Roxanne!}
We were up early this morning (per usual) but this time we went out exercising with our friend Kipton before breakfast. I had half a banana and some sunflower butter before we hit the road for a great stroller power walk. I’m loving having a morning exercise buddy – I forgot how great it is to get moving before the day begins.
Maze turned from a turkey into a lobster with his new mittens from Grammie Buzz!
2.75 miles later, we ate some quick cereal before heading out –
Whole Foods brand wheat waffles + honey bunches with chia seeds, the other half of my banana and milk.
Shortly after breakfast, Uncle Andrew arrived from New Orleans!!!
M had a great time playing with him. Andrew and I walked down to the bakery together to see what was going on.
Rollin’ with the punches.
SO many dinner rolls – and pies!
Hi Daddy!
I had a tofu + pimento cheese sandwich on popeye bread for lunch
Plus some savannah bar crumbles for dessert
M and I got back to walking later in the afternoon (after a bakery office feeding) and headed over to Karen’s house
We did more nursing and some snoozing. Cuteness!
Until Uncle Punkle and daddy came home from the bakery for dinner.
Cocktail hour featured two beers Karen brought home from Maine this summer
Plus two kinds of fun cheese – a cheddar from Quebec and a gruyère
For dinner we had crockpot beef short ribs over rice
Plus kale, feta cheese + bacon
And ROLLS!
Baby getting ready for a little dinnertime nap
For dessert, we did a swap this weekend with the incredible Paradox Pastry – bread for sweets!
Pear Tart, Brownie Tort and Autumn Spice Cake!
We are stuffed to the brim and the turkeys haven’t even been stuffed yet!! Matt called this “Holiday Fullness.” The best kind of fullness there is.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy thanksgiving!!
M outfit is sooo cute!! Well, he’s cute in whatever outfit.
You take him out a lot, I wonder if he takes regular naps that way too or do you notice he naps better when he’s at home?
KathEats says
He naps in his stroller all the time and car seat too. It works for now!
Amanda says
Good for you. My kids always slept well on the go! It always drives me crazy when women plan their day around nap time.

Happy Thanksgiving! We already celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada back in October. However, we benefit from your Black Friday…alot of our stores are having Black Friday sales starting today and continuing through the weekend. My mom is visiting this weekend so perhaps we will get some holiday shopping accomplished…in between my nephew’s hockey tournament! 🙂 Spice Cake looks amazing…what did it taste like? What was the icing? Cream Cheese? 🙂
Spice Chicken says
Hi Susan, my brother lives in Montreal and I just had a lovely visit there. I second the question about the autumn spice cake — what were the spices? Did the cake include pumpkin?
Vivi says
Happy Thanksgiving Kath!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Mazen definitely looks ready in his turkey outfit. Too cute!
I love the cuteness picture. So sweet!
I’m going to guess that Andrew is Matt’s brother. Wow!!! They could be twins. Is he younger or older?
Enjoy your holiday!
KathEats says
Couple years younger!

As always you have some great photos in this post. My faves are the first one (M in his gobble shirt), the uncle/nephew shot, and the one of your husband multi-tasking (pouring wine while holding a baby). Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Happy Thanksgiving, Kath and family! Love the idea of baking swaps. More small businesses should barter. 🙂

I love working out early in the morning also! It just sets the pace for the day; plus, I find I get so much more done on days I work out in the morning–so alert!

Maze has gotten so big! Well he looks bigger from the photies! Those sweets look incredible! Which was the best or could you possibly pick a fav!? 🙂 Hope your having an awesome Thanksgiving, can’t wait to hear all about it! I’m enjoying it vicariously through all the American bloggers and now super excited for Christmas!

Kath, the crockpot short ribs look great! Can you post the recipe? Thanks.
Helena says
So cute! Are you hoping Mazen might one day take over the family business? 🙂 (I was just wondering, as a franchise, do you have job security separate from the company? Like if anything happened to Great Harvest, can you continue to operate your own bakery as normal?)
KathEats says
Yes, the business is 100% ours. We own it. We just pay them “consulting!” and secrets
Sandrine says
QUEBEC’S CHEESE! I’m from Quebec!! What was the name of it? Was it the first time you tasted something from here?

We don’t remember.. Threw away wrapper, but it was wonderful!
