Animal Kneads was very fun – and so was my bike ride there!
I don’t normally take my camera on the Greenway, so I thought it would be a fun day to show you what it’s like.
The only problem is it takes me 25 minutes to bike there. That’s along a busy road, but I stay on the side walks:
Have to pass through a few intersections, but I am very careful
Still not that pretty, but bikeable
And I arrive!
Then the scenery improves:
The McMullen Creek Greenway is 8 miles long (as of this year) and has various entrances.
Great Harvest and Trader Joe’s shopping center is at one end
Look who I found!
I had fun checking out the animals who need homes. They were all sweet. Loved the kitties especially. I am partial to cats because of Lillian, Gretchen, Edmund, Turner, Rocky, Tace and Molly (our family pets). But Matt is allergic 🙁
Meow.
Found a few doggin’ too – like Clide here!
Ruff.
Scuff to Buddha!
I found these two animals wandering along the Greenway as well!
Snacks included a bite of garlic herb bread and this Y cookie in honor of my last name 🙂 (At least I think it was a cookie and not a doggie treat!!! LOL!)
6 miles home, showered, etc., I sat down to some leftovers.
I took Friday’s Mushrom Bean Salad and turned it into a soup with some veggie broth and farmer’s market tomatoes –
Plus a side of only the best TLC Honey Sesames
I’m a’thinkin’ I’m going to need a snack sooner than later!
See y’all then!

That looks like a beautiful place to bike! For your soup, did you cook the items together (i.e. submerge the tomatoes in the broth and heat) or just combine them at the end?

I have two dogs I adopted from an Animal Shelter I’ve been involved with for seven years, and it’s amazing I walked out of there with only two! You definitely want to take them ALL home…

Sounds like you had a great day so far! Those kittens and dogs are so adorable! I wish I could have one but my apt complex doesn’t allow them. Someday though, and I will definitely get one from a shelter 🙂

The kitties are adorable. We now have Chester a little orange Tabby who went 2 years waiting for a home. Its hard to go to the pet store on the weekends (adoption day) I could see my self saving another one. 🙂

Just wanted to tell you there is something you can put on your cats to stop the spread of dander. We did that with our cats for a long time because my stepfather was allergic. Now he’s fine around them without us having to apply the product anymore! Just google “allergy relief from cats spray” and the product should come up 🙂
Shannon says
Awww! I like Clide! I wasn to get a cocker spaniel or a king charles. I just love those curly-haired, long ears!
Looks like a great day. And an even greater cause. I wish I could adopt them all!

I love trails like that. We have one that runs from the next town over all the way to the mall. Hunni and I try to get out there as often as possible to ride down to the mall and look around before riding back.
And those animals are adorable. So great that you were able to go and Matt was able to help. Such cuteness. 🙂
