NO CAVITIES! Cue this flashback photo from my last visit in August. Whee! Amy the Hygienist and I talked about babies the whole appointment. Well she talked, and I mumbled a lot 🙂
I actually really do like getting my teeth cleaned. All the poking and scraping feels good (probably because I have tough gums from flossing like a champ.) Once I got the cavity free news, I breathed a huge sigh.
I came home and nibbled on this snack before heading out on a walk:
This trail mix is coming to OpenSky in a handful of flavors. I absolutely love the packaging design and names (this is The Walrus!) and the flavor profiles are pretty awesome too. The Walrus is slightly chocolate covered almonds and goji berries, mixed. [Does anyone else think goji berries taste like graham crackers!?] Coming to OpenSky tomorrow: WILD SQUIRREL! This time both peanut and almond butter!
Before going out on my walk, I got a text from Matt that two blog readers were at the bakery and wanted to meet me and ask about Cville – they’re thinking about moving here. I said if they were willing to walk, I’d be willing to talk! So we went on an hour sightseeing tour around town and had a great time chatting. The tour even ended with a mini beer tasting (not for me!)
Hi from Elyse and PJ!
Dinner was simple yet satisfying.
Condiment army:
No Bull Burger, baked, on a Virginia Roll. And K+M smothered on top with some jalapenos!
Pikal on the side!
We also had some veggies – steamed collards. The only way I could see myself eating them was ELF style – smothered in sugar. So I broke out some Dr. Pete’s Praline Mustard Glaze and covered ‘em! I actually couldn’t even finish them all – toooooo sweet! But at least I got some down : )
I wish I had another plum – I’d eat it for dessert! Fruit is soooo appealing. Might go eat some grapes or a popsicle. Interestingly, as my stomach volume seems to be slightly reduced (or I’m just feeling more full lately due to less hunger in general?) the less I want ice cream for dessert. It seems too filling! Fruit sounds refreshing though. I’m thirsty!
Nite!
Jacqueline@digintobooks says
That burger looks awesome! I’ll have to check out that brand!!
Sydney@ Nutrition with Sydney says
The trail mix looks delicious! I like the idea of just getting a little taste of chocolate, without overdoing it on the almonds–yum!! 🙂
Caroline @ After Dinner Dance says
I fear getting my teeth cleaned more than you can imagine!
Kinley @ Better Off Barefoot says
So since you guys are K & M, are you going to name Baby Pikal? or Jalapeno? Hahaha!! Kidding 🙂 That dinner sure looks good though!
[New Balance] Nicole says

let’s be honest, the best part of burger night is the condiments! specifically ketchup, in my opinion 🙂
Stephanie @ Legally Blinde says
Yay, glad you’re cavity-free!
Kelly says
For dinner, I had a perfect Kath type lunch, whole wheat tortilla, scrambled egg with avocado and jalapenos! Was good….
KathEats says
Hahaha – yum!!
Emily says
Have you ever tried freezing grapes? That way you get both grapes and a version of a popsicle!
KathEats says
I think my teeth are way too sensitive for that! I can’t even eat them cold!
emily says
The sight chocolate covering on that almond is sort of adorable.
Pickles are amazing in general, but do you feel like you’re having extra pregnancy pickle cravings? I swear to God, reading BERF the past week forced me to go out and buy a jar. Sympathy cravings?!
KathEats says
I don’t really think so. I only started liking them when I had one at convention on the sandwich bar. I think I just rekindled an old love
Amy says
I so want to like Goji berries but they have the most awful aftertaste for me.
I wish I could get No Bull burgers here in Canada!
Maria@ Sinfully Nutritious says
I loved jalapenos when I was pregnant! The spicier the better, until I started getting heartburn at 7 months. 🙂
amy says
Just in response to your tweet — dad’s don’t babysit, they parent.
amy says
dads not dad’s
KathEats says
Well what do you call it when a dad has to come home from work to parent? There has to be a name for that. Dadsit?
Allison K says
Going home to watch their kids? Parental duty?
chelsey @ clean eating chelsey says
I’m a condiment queen too! I seriously wish I could fill my entire fridge with condiments!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
I’m always a fruit for dessert gal. I love how refreshing it is after a meal. Cleanses the mouth and hydrates me! Congrats on the clean teeth Kath! Great news! Have a great night!

Lily says
Wow that trail mix looks good!
jen_alluisi says
I think I saw you walking around town! Did you guys walk through Court Square? I was heading up to the court house to meet my walking group around 5:45, and a woman who looked an awful lot like you walked by with another woman and a man, and now that you’ve posted their pictures, I *think* it might have been those two? I said to myself at the time, “That looked an awful lot like Kath!” but I didn’t want be all interrupty and ask or anything. 🙂
KathEats says
That was us!
lynn @ the actor's diet says
i eat frozen grapes almost every night with hot cocoa. highly recommend the combo!!!
Lexi @ Cura Personalis Foodie says
I love how fruit is the perfect combo of food + drink! Best of both worlds 🙂
Jen says
Yum! A lot of pregnant women seem to crave fruit – I think it is the water factor. And sweetness 🙂 Cantaloupe and melons are popular. How many more seasons of LOST do you have left?
Cerissa says
Watermelon! I LOVE it when I am pregnant (and even more the month after delivery)! Tonight we had watermelon and blueberries with cinnamon sprinkled on top… yum!
Dena @ 40 Fit in the Mitt says

Whew! I have been on pins and needles wondering how your dental appointment went. Now I can turn in for the night. Have a good one!!
KathEats says
Thanks for your concern 🙂
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
Congrats on the good dentist news! The dentist has GOT to be my most dreaded appointment of any kind.. thinking about it makes shudder.
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
I always think it’s so weird that the hygienist talks the whole time while cleaning my teeth. I obviously can’t respond so it just feels awkward!
Paige @ Healthy Hits the Spot says
Haha, I agree with Gina ^ So funny how they do that! Mumbling works I guess 😉 You make CVille look like an awesome place to live Kath! I live in Southern California and think about CVille often just because of your blog!
KathEats says
Come visit!
KhushbOo says
I am suddenly more interested in buying goji berries if they taste like Graham crackers 😉
kristin says
HAHAHAHA! I love your description “ELF style -smothered in sugar” so I immediately pictured you in ELF getup, downing bottles of maple syrup and lollipops, etc. 😉 I don’t think I’ve commented on your blog, but just started reading… and I really LOVE seeing all of your scrumptious meals!!! Lovely blog, lovely lady -thanks for sharing all of the great food ideas! 🙂
KathEats says
Thanks for reading!
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
Condiments galore, that’s me. x10 I have so many but hey, variety is the spice of life and usually all I want is a serving of something, but end up with…the whole jar. haha!
Glad you’re cavity free!

Wish we had No Bull burgers over in LA – I haven’t found any veggie burgers that look like this!

Grapes were one food that I always craved and tasted so refreshing when I was pregnant. Definitely helps quench your thirst. I also consumed a lot of watermelon and cantaloupe while pregnant.

I just recently got my first no cavities report in a long time and I was thrilled! I take care of my teeth as best I can but I’m cursed with bad genetics. Glad you got a good report as well 🙂

I was super excited to buy the Wild Squirrel Nut Butters on opensky but then I noticed that they were $5 more than the last time you put them up 🙁
KathEats says
That’s because there are two almond butters – almonds $> peanuts 🙁
