Things are warm and cozy in here this morning – because it’s hot outside, the heat is on and the oven was fired up! Triple heat. Too much heat!
I made a big batch of Cville Crunch French toast to feed the group.
Complete with grilled bananas and a few dollops of bourbon whipped cream!
I added some chia charger and coconut to mine too.
It’s been fun to have the coffee pot going these past few mornings but I admit I also miss my teas!
I spent the better part of the morning scrubbing the kitchen and dining room. I can’t believe how much food is tucked away in corners, under things, stuffed into cracks. Everything feels like it has a layer of grease on it. But luckily the kitchen now smells like a wonderful peppermint tree because I’ve been putting peppermint essential oil (10 drops – a lot!) into my Shaklee bottles. Life changing!
Andrew left early this morning 🙁
Mom and Dad are leaving after lunch 🙁
But Larbs + Matt are staying one more night!

That french toast looks so good! It’s always nice having family over for the holidays, but is sad once they leave! Hope you enjoy your last bit of time with them!

How many rooms are in your house again to accommodate extra guests? Love the close-up shots. Does taking photos in between add a lot of time into your cooking/preparation?
Christine @ Oatmeal in my Bowl says
Loving that Plate! Going to need to try grilled bananas. I love grilled plantains so I gather its gotta be good!

French toast – one of my favorites. Sure wish your bakery was closer to get some of that great bread. The right bread makes all the difference with French toast. Refreshing idea to put the peppermint oil in my Shaklee cleaners bottles. So awesome to know we are cleaning organically and it’s actually working BETTER than yuck chemicals.

Yay for having at least another night with your sister and Matt 🙂
I’m dying for my chia charger nut butters to get here!!

WARM BANANAS ARE THE BEST! Fried in butter = yes!! At least that’s what I did this morning. You were fancy and grilled yours 😉
Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn says
GH bread is literally so perfect. Yesterday was Woodstock, today was Orange Cranberry. Magic. The majorly amazing thing about being back home is that I wake up to a hot pot of coffee! Much better than having to walk all the way down campus to get a cup!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
That french toast looks delicious!! I’m sure the Cville Crunch bread made it even better. I love your green dishes too!!

It can never be too toasty in the morning during the fall or winter 😀 That breakfast looks awesome – I miss having french toast!

I don’t like a warm toasty house (I prefer it chilly – somehow it’s cozier with a blanket then!) but your food pics always make me want to come to your house for breakfast, anyway! 😛
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says
I am so trying that peppermint oil idea! How cool 🙂

That french toast looks delicious! 🙂 I like having a toasty house, although not too warm. Sometimes I like getting cozy with my snuggie and space heater.

I think the warm weather you had yesterday made its way up to Boston today – it’s currently in the mid-60s! 🙂
I rent my apartment and the entire kitchen is white – white walls, white cabinets, white counters. It shows ever speck of dirt and is impossible to keep clean. The key is to not look too closely or else I spend my entire day cleaning. Definitely don’t want an entirely white kitchen when I buy a place.
Sarah@The Flying ONION says
Mmm…lovely French toast. I think I’ll have to add some whipped cream to my breakfast tomorrow too…love it. 😀

I love how warm and cozy the kitchen gets when the oven is on! Sometimes in the winter when something is baking, I like to grab a book and read with my back against the oven! 😛

It feels good to get the kitchen all cleaned up after so much cooking!
Julia H. @ The Petite Spiel says
I had grilled bananas (for the first time) today! I made pancakes for breakfast and remembered that you like to throw bananas on the skillet, so I did just that–they’re DELICIOUS! Holy cow, how have I never done that? My mom was convinced that I must have put something on them to make them taste so good, but it was just the natural banana sweetness. Yummmm.
