That weekend when I got to meet Dustin Lynch – twice!!
Friday night we had a few friends over for casual pizza night. I roasted some cauliflower with curry powder and figs as a nice alternative to a green salad. We sipped lots of wine too and ate dark chocolate for dessert!
Saturday morning I was up early to go to 8am ath con at the gym. Bradley brought it with a mix of weights and cardio and this epic song for the cool down!!
I came home famished and polished off eggs, a pancake and raspberries before I could even think about taking a photo! I spent some time working on Saturday – have a few posts in the works! And getting in lots of snuggles with Mazen before packing my bag and heading to Richmond for the night.
The girls and I went back for a second helping of Dustin Lynch!
We had such a good time at our last show that we wanted to see him again and did the meet & greet option for our tickets. It was fun to get to chat with him if for only a minute! He also gave a private acoustic show to the group with a few songs.
My meet & greet photo came out blurry on the first take, so a staff member flagged me down and I got to go back for a second picture and chat with Dustin – this time it came out clear! He was cute and charming…
The girls and I went next door from the National and had dinner at Vagabond, which we heard was newly opened. The decor was amazing and the menu equally impressive.
I had a beet and butternut salad that came topped with chocolate dust!!
Plus these toast points with egg salad and smoked salmon. They were SO good!!
Back at the show Dustin gave another great performance.
Love that he still wears a cowboy hat! I borrowed Sarah’s for half the night : )
Sunday morning I went to Whole Foods for breakfast before the girls were awake and got a delicious omelet and fruit. I love poking around in other Whole Foods locations – like they don’t all have most of the same foods!
But then I found this elusive beer – can’t wait to try it!
After breakfast I met up with my friends and said goodbye before going over to the Short Pump mall for a little shopping.
Ladies and gentlemen, Christmas is here.
I spent most of my time in Crate + Barrel stocking up on some items for a blog post!!
Sunday afternoon was spent on the soccer field, per usual! I had half a goal and we tied our match!
The boys came to my game, and Mazen and I got to pass the ball around for a while. Can’t wait for him to start playing soccer himself! Hopefully next year. He is a good kicker already!
Sunday evening we joined some friends for a casual dinner at South Street Brewery. I had this Pumpkin Chai beer (YES!)
And a big delicious fall salad with beets and butternut squash (again!) plus candied walnuts and goat cheese. Crab cake on top!!
On a more serious note, we are keeping the people of Paris in our thoughts.

That looks like a fun weekend! The gingerbread stout looks so good!

Cauliflower with curry powder and figs? YUM! I’m usually not the biggest fan of cauliflower but that sounds like it would be SO good.
Also salad is always better with candied walnuts & goat cheese 🙂
Joanne says
What is a “half goal”??? Isn’t that an assist???
KathEats says
The keeper dropped it and I chased it in
Tracy says
How do you get half a goal?
KathEats says
The goalkeeper dropped it and I chased it in
Melissa says
Looks like an awesome weekend and that Christmas tree is gorgeous!
Natalie says
What is a half goal? Do you mean an assist?
KathEats says
Technically I sent it into the goal but the keeper dropped it so I’m only giving myself half the credit!
Sally says
That gingerbread stout is my absolute favorite beer – may even like it more than Pumking, which is a bold statement 😉 enjoy!
Amanda says

They bought them at concerts actually. I want one too!
