I *THINK* my pounding headache is about gone. THINK! It’s weird because I didn’t feel sick today or thirsty – just headache. We had no medicine in the house or I would’ve taken some!
This afternoon I worked away and required a snack:
YIAJJ
Yogurt In A Jam Jar
The last of my Bella Eats blackberry jam, plus Oikos, chia seeds, and almonds. It was awesome!
Speaking of Bella, we met for a walk this evening! We have so many topics to talk about that we’d gone 45 minutes before we knew it! Bella is very cool 🙂
I didn’t return home till almond almost 8PM, so Matt and I had a low-key dinner.
And I missed the daylight and had to resort to 100% artificial lighting. Booo! I need a light studio this winter…
But we did break out the cloth napkins!
And we invited a big lamp to share dinner with us!
To munch, we had leftover Smoky Bean Soup topped with avocado, greek yogurt and salsa
Plus a side of local green beans cooked in….coconut butter and Garlic Gold!! OpenSky representin’ – and these are two products that I buy from myself on a regular basis. Both have been life changing!! The coconuty "sauce" was sooo good. I’m obsessed with that stuff.
For dessert…you’ll have to wait till the morning!
I’m working on some enhancements – a new KERF Favorites tab that will link to some of my favorite and noteworthy posts.
Including a whole page devoted to the Bears!! If you don’t know who the Bears are, you can find out all about ’em there.
I think my headache is back.
Must…stop….thinking…
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) says
I don’t know if its the same where you live or not, but there are a *lot* of allergy problems going on right now. I wake up every morning feeling in a fog. Tired. Headachy. Drowsy. Blah!
Hope you’re feeling better soon. Headaches are seriously the worst!
holly @ couchpotatoathlete says
Sorry about your headache — those are awful, especially when you can’t “cure” them with sleep, water or (in my case usually) caffeine.
I look forward to the KERF changes!
Heather says
yay for a page about the bears! great idea!
Estela @ Weekly Bite says
I hate those never ending headaches! Hopefully a good nights sleep will help!
Hope you feel better!
Emily says
YIAJJ is an amazing innovation that I’m looking forward to at the end of my current blueberry jam jar 🙂 I have been following your posts lately and an wondering how you strike a balance between your cardio training and yoga? I am a grad student so my schedule can be tight but I am trying to get my running milage up but also enjoy yoga for the stretching/flexibility/peace/sanity. I really want to get back into lean running shape but need my yoga too. Any suggestions?? Thanks so much 🙂
Kath says
Lately I’ve been alternating days between yoga and running. I could just do those two for the rest of my life and be so happy! But I do prefer a bit more power yoga and less lay-on-the-floor types, so it’s a bit of a workout and not total rest.
Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday says
I appreciate the info on the 3 bears after the apparent $h!+storm of comments that went down after I asked about the bears a while back. That was kinda awkward.
Kath says
I did this post just for you 🙂
Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday says
haha, thanks!
i have a stuffed sasquatch that my husband and i make funny voices with. he has his own personality. glad to know i`m not THAT weird.
Allie (Live Laugh Eat) says
I’m gonna need a light studio too! I hate competing with the sun, esp. when it’s dark at 4:30pm!!! Love the hugh jass lamp you have on the table 🙂
Evan Thomas says
That lamp is so romantic, lol
I love eating out of a jam jar so much more than a peanut butter jar. That super sweet bite at the bottom is just the best.
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says
I hope your headache goes away 🙁
That looks like a great fall dinner!
Chelsey says
sorry your head hurst so bad – mine does too!
Cara says
Hopefully a good sleep will clear that pesky headache.
notyet100 says
i gonna try smoky bean soup soon,,,;-)
Kristy @ KristyRuns.com says
Could it be a lack-of-caffeine-headache? Those are the worst. I’m off caffeine now, but when I was on…boy, those were no fun. Water, sleep, nutrients…nothing could cure them but more caffeine! 🙂
Kath says
Actually…maybe. I did skip a day of coffee this week. But I did drink a lot of wine!
A Teenage Gourmet (Sami) says
You don’t need a light studio, darling! Your pictures are great.
Laughter-Loving Stacy says
mann i wish i had the money to keep all that food in my apartment!!! YUMMMM <3
Michaela says
Ditto to the allergy reference in earlier comments. The same headache problem happened to me on Saturday. It was awful. I had caffeine, ran, showered, napped…all the usual cures but nothing worked.
Krystina says
I’m glad you feel better! I had a headache for a week straight and it was torture.
Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter says
All of the artificial lighting in my house is all yellow or orangish. I’m jealous how great yours is!
Kath says
You gotta touch them up in a photo program. Mine are yellow to start too. I use Windows Live Gallery, which is free, to touch up my photos
Heidi - apples under my bed says

Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
Yuck, headaches are the worst!!! I used to have chronic headaches and they are simply no fun.
Hannah says
Glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better – coconut, beans, and garlic gold must’ve had something to do with it 🙂 Hope you get a good night’s sleep and feel stellar tomorrow!
Jessie says
The new header and favorites page look amazing. They make me want to work on my skills!
Kath says
Thanks!
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
Hope your head feels better soon. 🙂 Maybe getting away from the computer will help! I know my head sure hurts after staring at the bright screens.
Brooke - One Healthy Cookie says
I love the bears’ escapades. They are so full of mischief!
Kim says
I know you all went wine tasting, but it could be allergies too.
My husband had seasonal type allergies when we lived in Ohio and I didn’t. I never had allergies in any of the places I lived. Then we moved to Colorado and a altitude of 5430 ft and now I have seasonal type allergies and he doesn’t have ANY!
I take a homeopathic remedy by Boiron called Sabadil and it helps me so very much.

Kath says
I think it COULD be allergies – because it’s still here just a bit in the back of my neck. And I’ve noticed a bit of an on-and-off sore throat too. And we just moved to a higher altitude!
Gree says
Those green beans looked so good, that’s just what you need for a headache, lots of vitamins!
Caitlin (EatFeats) says
Dessert is intriguing! And I like the lamp…really sets the ambiance.

Dang, those shots of the soup are making me want to run downstairs and slice up the avocado I just bought. Now. At 11:15 PM. Tell me that’s normal.

🙁 I hope your headache goes away soon! And the jam yogurt looks awesome, that’s such a great idea!
The lighting in my house is AWFUL, we are surrounded by trees, so I have to take every pic with lamps or overhead lights on
Jil @ Peace, Love & Munchies says
Ohhh – that yogurt in a jam jar sounds so good – I’m just a blackberry jam freak so this is right up my alley.
Andrea says
You’re pretty cool too, Kath! 🙂 Enjoyed our walk, looking forward to more soon!
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
I can’t wait to finish a jar of jam so that I can make YIAJJ!
Sorry about the headache. 🙁 Maybe it was weather related? I get them whenever the pressure drops.
