Like most Americans, it’s hard to go into Target without buying at least three items you hadn’t planned to buy. I swear, the store’s designers come out with the cutest stuff!
(Mazen agrees – he really wanted this Spiderman costume! Note his face..)
The good news is that our Target is quite a far drive up 29 North, so I don’t go all that often.
The bad news is that I know exactly where the hot spots are with new arrivals, so when I do go, I have a set path that I take through the store that inevitably leads me to the best finds.
While browsing I thought it would be fun to share the things I loved but didn’t buy for a bunch of reasons. (I’ll share links when I can in case they call to you!)
Starting with these coasters. Wood + marble catches the most Basic eye – mine!
In the same department, I loved these marble trays. Almost got them for blog photo shoots, but already have 3 marble trays – eek! (Actually the one I have is from Target!) Mazen asked “What are theeeeese?!”
Isn’t this gold fan so cute?! Actually I loved everything by Noble Supply Co.
This candle smelled like a firepit and was in a stemless wine glass just like the rose gold ones I got from World Market!
And this cake stand combines the best of trendy materials : )
In the process of sharing some links with you I discovered that online almost everything in this list is 10% off. Verrrrrry formidable!
Two things I did buy:
This light saber toothbrush for Mazen. It talks and lights up while you brush! He is OB-sessed!
I used to have my cosmetics in a little chest with drawers. It was nice because they were out of sight, but annoying because I was always digging through drawers. So I did a big overhaul of all of my beauty products (which included 100 samples!) and organized things into three categories: use everyday, use sometimes, and travel and spares. I trashed or donated the rest to friends.
The “use everydays” are above in my new organizer and my vanity drawer, which has face products and lotions.
The “use sometimes” are in the chest divided by category in drawers. Face, eyes, lips, hair. This was my grandmother’s chest that was her family’s before that.
And the travel toiletries are in a bigger chest full of all kinds of extras. Hashtag drawers!
One final thing I came home with from Target – a picture with blog reader Jill who spotted me trying to convince Mazen that he had enough Batman toys at home! : )
What have you found at Target this week? (Because I know you went!)
This post wasn’t sponsored by Target at all, but it does include affiliate links. Mwah!

My nearest Target is 2 hours away so I rarely make it to one. Sniff sniff.

I’m actually going to be shopping at Target later today! I ordered a staple handbag that I’ve been needing for a long while now, and I chose in-store pickup. While there, I plan to purchase a pair of shoes to wear to my rehearsal dinner plus also want to browse the clothes for a few last fun pieces to take on our honeymoon. I do feel successful when I pop into Target and only buy wat I intended, but today I’m cutting myself some slack. 😉

haha! Target is my favorite….and it is only 5 min away from my apartment. eek! I actually have already bought those coasters :). And now I want that vanity organizer – hmmmm ;).

The struggle is real. My son takes tae kwon do in the same strip mall as our Target…and he is a black belt so you can imagine how many times I’ve said “I’ll just run in there for a minute…”! I’ve been getting some of the super cute Cat and Jack stuff for my daughter. She’s a very outdoorsy kid and I’ve found her some comfy long sleeve tshirts that say “Go Outside” and “Have an Adventure.” She has one on today actually! Also, the dollar spot has some cute Halloween decor items.

The dollar spot was such a great invention : )

How do you like that Tom’s of Maine deo? I’d really like to go the natural route for that product, but I can’t seem to quit my Dove Clinical!
KathEats says
It works just fine, but I don’t like the smell quiiiiite as much as Dove. But it has worked well!

Hi Kath,
Not trying to be a jerk here, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how the 10% off sale is “formidable”??!?!
KathEats says
Formidable for my wallet!! “inspiring fear or respect through being impressively large, powerful, intense, or capable.”
Caroline says
I guess I still don’t understand, but since you quoted the dictionary, I’ll take your word for it!!

It’s probably a good thing that there isn’t a Target in Guatemala, but I do wish I could pick up some of those marble trays! Something similar would cost $$$ here!

The lightsaber toothbrush is the cutest!!!!! I think I’ll get one for myself, LOL!
Question about your knives. I stored mine pointy side down on the magnet holder because I saw it that way in your blog and it looks like you’ve changed it. Is handle down the best way? Thanks!!!!
KathEats says
This is always a debate! I prefer point down because I always worry I will fall into them (with my hand/arm) but I think point up is the *proper* way. Someone switched them for me after sharpening a few, so that’s why they’re different!

We have a new puppy and the dog toy section is amazing. We got her a pink flamingo squeaky toy that is also a tug of war and chew toy. She loves it and we are glad she’s chewing on it and not us now! Target is the best. Way less expensive than PetsMart.

I just said the day that I need to quit Target. I go once a week and almost always buy home decor. They have so many great things, especially for fall!

Target is one of my all-time favorite stores! You are right when you say that when one goes to Target they typically purchase three items that they did not plan on purchasing! I was just there a few days ago, & purchased three 🙂 items,, which were cleaning supplies.
By the way, I like that gold fan!

Haha! Just stopped by yesterday to get a … spiderman costume and left with the “gather” throw pillow, pumpkin carving kit, spiderwebs and some miscellaneous toiletries. Had I not gone with my 4 year old and the hubby, the list would of been waaaay longer. They keep me in line (and want to leave the store).
