I’ve got a camera over my shoulder as I type!!!
We got up early this morning so we could be filmed on our way to the gym. I knew it would be a while before I got to make a bowl of oatmeal, so I decided to have a snack –
Greek yogurt, a small peach and some Kashi U cereal. Plus some tea 🙂
When the camera arrived at 8, we boarded our bikes and off we went. She met us at the Y for some more outdoor footage. I must have been full of adrenaline (or caffeine!) because it was the quickest and easiest 30 minutes on the Stairmaster I’ve ever done! I really thought that I’d programmed the time wrong, but I looked at my watch and sure enough, 30 minutes had passed. I did a few pull-ups and dips and we hopped on our bikes and headed home.
After a quick shower and time to fluff my hair for the video (
) we started making oatmeal – smiling for the camera!! We’ve done a lot of talking while cooking and eating, so it’s going to be a pretty busy day. But as usual, the oats turned out delicious!
Today’s mix was rather classic for the camera –
- 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
- 1/2 small banana
- Pinch salt
- 2 tbsp-ish kamut berries
- Vanilla
- Flax
- Granola plank
- Spoonful AB
We’ve got some more things planned – grocery shopping (with cameras), a grilled lunch, a wine tasting (with cameras!), some studying (hopefully it can be real studying 🙂 ) and our party tonight.
Back after lunch!!

I would be so nervous having someone watch my every step! I hope the segment turns out well, and that we all have a chance to see it when it’s done. Good luck with the studying!
Maryam says
where do you get your granola plank from?? there’s no whole foods near charlotte, is there??
Meghan says
Exercise always seems easier to me when others are watching (or just simply around!), which is why I prefer to run downtown as opposed to an empty track or park!

Hope today turns out great for you guys!
(I too would be self conscious if someone was filming me work out – I’d probably fall off the stairmaster!)

so here’s my question:
do you feel like you can relax and go about your day the same way with the camera? do you feel like you are acting differently?
im not entirely sure if i could be myself…i mean, i wouldnt do or say anything different, but i think i would be more aware and not entirely relaxed.
and i would probably not swear as much either.

Haha, groundedfittness, that was my thought. I curse like a sailor, and while my husband thinks it’s hysterical to call me his “delicate flower,” I don’t think the rest of America would find it so cute.

That is too funny. What is it like to be a celebrity?

The act of observing alters the actions of the observed….
I would have a very hard time being myself while being filmed, even if I wanted to, I think subconsiously I would act differently

Maryam ,
I bought it from Honest-Foods.com
Grounded Fitness,
It’s definitely hard to act natural, but apparently we’ve been doing a pretty good job. They aren’t just filming us from the sidelines – we’re doing lots of interviews, talking, demos, etc. so it’s not just the whole “elephant in the room” thing. It’s been kind of nerve wracking though!

This sounds amazing! Would you have ever guessed this blog would bring you this much exposure – and friends? How exciting for ya’ll.
Nancy says
Hey Kath-
I’m sorry but I’m confused- why are you guys being filmed?
KC says
I don’t know if I could eat with all of those cameras watching. And I’d be embarrassed to run to the bathroom or anything… I think I’d just be overly self conscious the whole time! Good for you for handling it so well :o)
Hayley says
I must have missed something…are you going to be on TV??? 🙂
emmy says
general question to the readers: is there a way to post on blogger blogs without creating an account? Sorry to interupt Kath’s post, but clearly I couldn’t ask this on the sites in question.
Kath says
Nancy + Hayley,
Check last night’s post for the update!

Emmy,
Some bloggers may have (unknowingly or not) selected the option that people who leave comments must be members or have an account. Others may just require you leave a name and email to verify that it’s not coming from a spam program. Hope that helps.
