Have you ever seen a tree that meows?
And purrs?
Looks like I have my very own Pumpkin tree now!
Amazing bowl of oats this morning
Oatmeal made with milk, water, banana, and chia seeds with 1/3 cup low-fat organic cottage cheese and 1/3 cup fresh blueberries stirred in at end. Took me right back to summer berry oats!
Almond butter and Ellwood Thompson granola on top (a Richmond store brought to me via my friend Elly!)
And on the side – a big mug of coffee!!!! French pressed to perfection. NYC brought back my love for the good stuff.
I my tree produces some great orange pumpkins soon!
Krissy @ Shiawase Life says
LOL! Cute kitty – hope it’s able to get down okay!
The Mrs @ Success Along the Weigh says
I got a vision of wee little pumpkins sprouting all over the tree. How cute would THAT be!?

Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
You have some very cute wildlife there Kath! And on the cottage cheese note, I can’t seem to get enough of it lately! Couldn’t stand it when I was little, but it’s my go-to snack right now…. I might even say I like it more than Greek yogurt!Gorgeous oats as always. 🙂
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
That cat is cute! I hope it was able to get down alright! Fresh blueberries sound delicious 🙂
Maria @ Sinfully Nutritious says
Coffee and oatmeal, I love the combo. Who am I kidding, I love coffee with anything, but always the good stuff. Mine has to be dark and rich with just a little vanilla soy creamer. YUM.
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
It looks like summer over there! And I love that you have a pet cat without actually having to take care of it! Haha so cute!
KathEats says
Best of both!
Melissa @ HerGreenLife says
‘Tis the morning for amazing oats. In my bowl: blend of rolled and steel cut oats, chia, soymilk locally-grown pear, homemade hazelnut butter, and cinnamon 🙂
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
That is such a great pic of the kitten in the tree! We had a kitten growing up that got chased so far up a tree she got stuck… it was a giant pine tree, so tall a ladder wouldn’t reach her We had to call a tree service to fetch her!
Ashley @ Coffee Cake and Cardio says
Too cute! That’s not y’alls cat right?
KathEats says
Right, she lives next doro
Blessing @ Working Mom Journal says
The kitten is sure getting some workout climbing on those trees!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
a pumpkin tree?! how fun would that be! would sure save me some money on libby’s 🙂
Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning says
It doesn’t get much better than French press coffee! I feed my addiction daily with my little one that I keep at work.
I have the mixings for a dough boy smoothie sitting in my vitamix waiting for me in the fridge for when I get home. I didn’t want to experiment for breakfast on a work day, just in case. 🙂
I’m hoping to be well enough to do the new Bodypump launch today (it’s killllllller) and have the smoothie for a post-workout snack!
KathEats says
I did the new launch yesterday! Pretty good one!
Cara @ I Don't Believe in Diets says
haha that cat is so funny!
Christine @ Oatmeal in my Bowl says
Cats are so funny. Each w/ their very own cool personality.
Breakfast with that granola… delicious. Never thought about putting cottage cheese in it. Will need to try that one. 😉
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
I wish I had a pumpkin tree too! Kitties are so cute especially the orange variety! That’s why I have two! Breakfast looks perfect today! I hope you have a great one Kath!
Stacy @ Say It With Sprinkles says
I have no idea how cats successfully get up into trees that far, and how they manage to get down – although with all the cliche firefighter-cat-up-a-tree-rescues, I guess maybe they’re not as successful at getting down as I’m guessing!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Nothing beats a good cup of coffee..nothing. 🙂
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
This post brings back memories of my childhood cats who would climb trees and then get scared to come down on their own 🙂 Hope yours makes it down okay!
The breakfast looks delish.
Khushboo says

Sweet kitty– makes me miss my orange cat who passed a few years ago. Orange cats are the best 🙂
Cait's Plate says
That does look like one amazing bowl of oats! The other day I made my oats on the stovetop and stood there and stirred it the whole time – I felt just like Matt 🙂
Cat @Breakfast to Bed says
I want a hissing tree. I bet it’d scare the damn squirrels from my bird feeder. It may also scare away the birds…
Mariska says
Wow,that cat looks just like my cat!
Johanna B says
I love cats. Our orange cat was called Butterscotch but Pumpkin is a good name, too. I’m sure she will get down ok. I’ve never seen a cat skeleten in a tree.
Sarah says
Chia seeds! THAT’s what I left out of my oats this morning!
Ellie@Fit for the Soul says

Mom says
I want a Pumpkin Tree!
Leah says
I’ve never tried cottage cheese in oats but I am intrigued. Does it make a more savory oat? Also anyone know a vegan alternate to cottage cheese?
KathEats says
It’s a tiny bit more savory, but with fruit it’s just as breakfast-y. I don’t know of a vegan alternative other than crumbled tofu – not sure I’d be brave enough to try that! Or perhaps a coconut or soy yogurt stirred in
Becca says
“…with 1/3 cup low-fat organic cottage cheese and 1/3 cup fresh blueberries…”
…sounds like BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE oats!
Oh, and were they really fresh berries if you got them in January? 😛
KathEats says
They were…from CA
