Good morning! I’ve been up since sunrise listening to some Christmas music and working in bed on my laptop. There are still presents to be wrapped, and I’m running out of time!
Keepin’ it casual and sharing some Lately meals this morning. Like this bowl of Raisin Bran! Karen bought this when she visited and I found it in the back of our pantry. I love Raisin Bran! Mazen gave it a try too, but he wasn’t really into the cereal-in-milk concept. He’s more of an oatmeal guy! I topped it with some almond butter and juicy blackberries.
Oatmeal was on the menu the next day! Classic whipped banana with lots of chia seeds, granola and sunflower butter.
We made smoothies together another morning. The usual mix of things like greens, banana, milk, berries, and yogurt. I added a little chocolate protein powder my friend Natalie gave me for a little decadence and some granola on top.
Chef in the making!!
Lunches have been all over the place – literally. I ate at Revolutionary Soup one day and Tea Bazaar another. Tea Bazaar has the BEST salad! It’s greens with candied walnuts, goat cheese, smoked salmon, pear, tomatoes, cucumbers and the most delicious herby pita chips.
Another day I had a hot dog and salad at home. (#becausegrownupslikehotdogstoo) Plus a side salad with hummus and leftover roasted butternut squash.
It’s a nice time of year for soup! Oh wait, no it’s not – it’s 70 degrees outside! Not complaining – just observing : ) This soup was a mix of fresh and frozen veggies in broth with crumbled tempeh and parmesan on top.
And here it is in dinner form!
Edamame on the side!
Champion has been showing Christmas movies on Tuesdays throughout December, so I went to see Home Alone – one of my all-time favorite movies! While there I had their sweet potato beer (yum!) and 3/4 of this delicious pizza from Blue Ridge Pizza Truck.
Here’s a still performance of Jingle Bells for you to start your day out with some holiday cheer!

Hey Kath-
Is there a protein powder you would recommend? I have been thinking about adding one in as I begin to train for a half, but am overwhelmed by the options.
Thanks and happy holidays!

I don’t rely on them, but my favorite for flavor and a decent plant-based nutrition profile is the Vega line. The Coconut Almond and Vanilla Chai flavors are great.

There’s still a solid day and a half left to wrap gifts 😉
(at least, that’s what I’m telling myself…)
