Happy Holiday to all!
We celebrated with a honkin’ smoothie in a bowl made with all of those plump strawbs from yesterday!
Can’t-Have-Too-Many-Berries Smoothie
Serves TWO
- 2 cups fresh plump strawberries
- 1 small banana
- 1.5 cups milk
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- Toppings: Hemp Plus granola, buckwheat groats, puffed quinoa, sunflower butter
I brewed peppermint + rooibos teas in a pot on the stove and poured them over ice. It was good, but Matt’s iced coffee looked better!
It maybe be a holiday, but it’s a workday in our family. I’m going to Body Pump and then to the bakery for the rest of the day.
Khushboo says
True story: you can never have too many berries! Looks delicious! For what it’s worth, today was a working day for me (and the rest of the working population in Mumbai 🙂 )
Kelly says
Well it’s actually not a holiday in the true sense. It’s a day of remembrance. I thought Kath would have at least acknowledged that.
KathEats says
I’m remembering in private, actually
Molly @ RDexposed says
I chose to quietly reflect today.
ashley says
i love how you handle all of the snide comments…you’re a classy lady!

I don’t work today, but I’ll be doing plenty of work at home, so it doesn’t really seem like time off!
Stacy @ Every Little Thing says
Have fun at the bakery! Maybe it’ll be a bit more relaxed 🙂 I’m at work but I’ll be celebrating when I get home!
Heather says
Have a great day!
I started my day with a run and am hoping to do a Kath-style clean of my apartment – including getting rid of some clutter!
Evan says
Love love love this long weekend; it’s the start of the summer!
Hopefully the bakery is chill today…at least you can get a workout in before working 🙂
Lisa Fine says
Still counting down until it’s strawberry season here. We have a few more weeks to go!
At least you and Matt get one day off together each week. Can’t believe your opening is in just a few days. You must be getting super excited!

Danielle @ weightsandmeasures says
Have you thought about brewing the tea or coffee the night before and putting it in the fridge to chill? You SIAB looks wonderful too!
KathEats says
That’s too much nighttime work 🙂
Averie (LoveVeggiesandYoga) says
Let’s face it, for me at least, iced coffee will always trump tea. Coffee, period, always trumps tea. Except when I was pregnant, then tea won. But I am a coffee girl at heart.
I posted about iced coffee the other day…I take anything I dont drink fresh, throw it in the fridge, and that’s my coffee that’s waiting for me the next day for iced coffee. (saw the person above me’s comment and your reply).
Or I take it and pour it over ice cube trays. Coffee ice cubes.
I waste nothing. Even old coffee. lol
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
Where idd you get your “placemat” in these pics? I think it’s my fav so far! 🙂
KathEats says

Kate (What Kate is Cooking) says
It’s only 56 degrees outside- too cold for a morning smoothie 🙁 I’m hoping it will warm up so I can have one for lunch!

So I made my first smoothie using cottage cheese the other day. It was very good! I wasn’t sure about putting cottage cheese in at first, since it is a {little} salty but I was pleasantly surprised 🙂 Looks like a yummy breakfast. Good luck at the bakery today!
Molly says
I love that table cloth! Where did you get it? It was hard to concentrate on the yummy eat because my eyes were constantly drawn towards the beautiful cloth!

It’s from Oh Little Rabbit’s Etsy Store

I actually had nearly the same exact breakfast this morning! so incredibly yummy 🙂 but my question for you is, how do you make your nut butter drizzles look so pretty? when I do mine it always turns out a little bit unsightly
KathEats says
The only nut butter to drizzle like that is sunflower butter! It’s just SO drippy
Christine (The Raw Project) says

I just found crunchy sunflower seed butter, and it’s so much more like crack than the smooth one! The same smooth drizzliness, but packed with merga-crispy roasted whole sunflwoer seeds. To die for!
KathEats says
