I am beyond exhausted – but because it was a jam-packed day!! From speaking to speaking, I’m losing my voice!
This afternoon I went to a session and accompanied Emily, Cullen and Lacey on a quick trip to Starbucks
Followed by a long walk with Tina and Monica to the 5 Bamboo HQ!
I love all of their clothing – so soft and cool – but this shirt is by FAR my favorite ever – coming very soon to OpenSky, an “I Eat Real Food” shirt (with KERF on the back!) I pink + grey. So excited to wear it!
We had fun chatting with the Five Bamboo team and especially meeting their mascot, Ruhki, who was like a little human!
Our total trip was just about 3 miles, but when I returned, I crashed. For about 10 minutes. Just watching the baby move –
But I couldn’t relax too long because Amie was calling my name with the lure of cheese + crackers!
She had a plethora of Organic Valley goodies – including that delicious cheese – plus some amazing cookies from Saint Cupcake Bakery here in Seattle. I tried a bite of the Smoked Cookie (campfire meets bacon and chocolate!) plus a traditional chocolate chip – great snack!
After cocktail hour, I headed across the street to meet BethT and Helen Jane from Federated Media for dinner at the Purple Café.
We shared a beautiful and wonderful meal with several other bloggers
Including Gina of Skinny Taste and fellow RD Heather, The Diet P.I.
Small plates were passed around
But the show-stopper was my Copper River King salmon served over tomato couscous and swiss card with candied fennel on top – heavenly and SO good!!! Sadly I could only fit half of this inside, but it was tasty through every bite!
My evening concluded in the loft of the Purple Café with a lovely soirée put on by Stonyfield.
We chatted and mingled for an hour. Others sipped amazing smelling red wines, while I guzzled water for my fading voice box.
Amelia and I concluded the evening by each giving a short talk on what it means to us to “know our food.” I touched on my journey of learning about real food to reading books like Michael Pollan’s to moving to Cville, touring Polyface and growing vegetables that we eat for dinner. Followed by some favorite ways I love to eat greek yogurt (Guacamole Crème was mentioned!)
Thankfully the hotel was just across the street and I’m probably already asleep as I write the last lines of this post…zzzzzz.

Cannot even imagine how exhausted you are! At least the food looks amazing and all the pics of the bloggers you’re hanging out with and meeting…so fun!

So fun that you got to hang out for a bit with Emily & Cullen! Oh, and the new shirt is so cute 🙂

You know how exciting it is when.. like… your two favourite musicians collaborate? Or one of your fave authors reveals that they’re working with THE BEST ACTOR EVER to write a new movie? THAT’S how I feel when I see a bunch of my favourite bloggers all in the one place! hahah.
Oh, and everything looks SO delicious… that collage photo of the cookies, cheese, and granola (tempted to call it ‘cereal’ to make it THE ULTIMATE TRIFECTA OF Cs :P) is the food equivalent of all my favourite bloggers in one photo! Oh, and whatever this is has got me drooling – some kind of baked cheese..?? https://www.katheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/IMG_1854.jpg
Enjoy the rest of your trip! 🙂

Wow… Like you said, that’s a jam packed day! I’m glad to hear you had fun tasting all the food though!
Were you able to sleep well to tackle another conference day? You’re a brave pregnant lady!
Lee says
I had salmon served over israeli couscous and greens (mine was kale) last night too at a restaurant in Atlanta. It looked exactly like your dinner!
Rukhi is a cutie. All places should have a dog mascot, I think.
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
sounds like a fun and exhausting day! I hope you got some sleep!
Karen says
I really dig that real food t-shirt…excited indeed! 🙂
Hope your insomnia streak was broken last night…on the occasions that I slip into that same pattern, mine tend to last a few consecutive nights as well. Have fun; feel good!

Love the FiveBamboo shirt. Their stuff is so comfy and cozy, you just never want to take it off! haha!

Hahaha I feel like I’m in a wonderful food coma just reading this! All that founds sounds great, and it definitely sounds like you had a full day on your plate 😉
Eileen says
That salmon with the couscous does look amazing! I would have had a hard time putting my fork down. 🙂
I know you are probably all booked for meals, but if you get a chance, you should totally go up to the International District and try out Phnom Penh Noodle House–the sour soups are just amazing, and the small portions are more than enough.

Sounds like a great day! You ARE busy!!

I’m jealous of your conference food! I’m a librarian and have attended numerous conferences, and our food is never as nice as yours! Though if I had all those options, especially for breakfast, I think I would eat myself silly!
