Yesterday I had big plans to eat two of my favorite foods on my birthday: Oat Berry Muffin and Cville Cluster granola.
Yet Matt left them at the bakery on my birthday eve!
I made it for it with pancakes and frosting yesterday, and that meant that my day-after breakfast was even more exciting!
A cup of yogurt topped with half a banana chia seeds, Cville Cluster, Oat Berry Crumbles and…Wild Squirrels!
Remember back in the day when I tried Flying Squirrel Nut Butters? They ROCKED! The two masterminds (KERF readers!) behind their invention – Keeley and Erika – have really taken off with their newly named WILD Squirrel Nut Butter line! A jar of the professionally designed Curious Cocoa-Nut arrived on my doorstep and I gave it a prompt taste. Other than excellent slightly cocoa-but-not-too-chocolately-for-breakfast flavor, the TEXTURE of this is incredible. Extremely drippy and thick – almost like Barney Butter’s texture. Two squirrel thumbs up!
FOAM IS HERE TO STAY! Two days in a row of success – 30 seconds microwaved in mug, 2% organic milk, frothed near bottom for 30 seconds, tea poured on top.
I haven’t slept well the past two nights, so I’m awfully tired, but the show must go on. Didn’t make it on a run this morning – also due to a still-slightly-tender-upon-waking foot, but hope to do so later today.
I’m taking care of something this morning and then headed to GH all afternoon to work + play with Amanda, who Matt and I call Mandine a la the Simpsons : )

Sounds like a great nut butter! For me, a nut butter’s texture has to be smooth and spreadable, and obviously delicious as well 🙂

It was delicious! I think it may top the Carrot Raisin Walnut as my favorite GH muffin 🙂

I don’t think there is anything better than drippy nut butter on top of clusters. 😛

I was at the store last night and thought of you. I went down the peanut butter isle, even though I didn’t need peanut butter some how I am always on that isle, and discovered Biscoff Peanut Butter! Apparently it’s made from Biscoff cookies. I would love to send you a jar!

Donna,
Do you mean the Biscoff spread? I just had that yesterday – it’s incredible!!!

Aly says
Your breakfasts make me so jealous! Question: what’s all in the Cville Cluster you have so much?? (And where can I get me some??)
KathEats says
It’s from our bakery, Great Harvest, here in Cville. We occasionally do flash sales online through OpenSky – may be doing one soon.

Christine @ Oatmeal in my Bowl says
The Flying Squirrel Nut butter looks fantastic! And I love the company’s name. Makes your breakfast look mighty fine.
Lisa Fine says
Love the nut butters! I love when companies add chocolate to nut butter. It’s nice to get my chocolate fix taken care of early in the day.
And thanks for giving me the idea to add crumbled muffins to oatmeal or yogurt. Whenever I have a muffin, that’s what I do (they’re so boring just on their own!), and it makes a great treat.
sarah@spinach and spice says
Happy belated birthday, Kath!
Those nut butters do look fantastic. Drippy is essential, especially for dipping bananas straight into the jar.
What can I say, it’s a quick dorm room breakfast 🙂
Marie@feedingfive says
How great that those girls made a go of their business. I am not feeling too great this morning either, congested and achey, haven’t worked out for 3 days. It’s kind of nice to do nothing.

That just meant you had extra-special-continue-birthday-bliss TODAY! Oh, and I really liked last post’s 29 things to be thankful for. I love that you are using this bday as another blessing, another amazing year to look forward to. I always get bugged by my gal pals that complain about aging…it is a priviledge!
Lara says
Hi Kath!
I just got a milk frother too…Want to try your 30 second technique. How much milk do you use for one cup of tea?
Thanks!
KathEats says
About a quarter cup?
Lara says
Worked perfectly, thanks! Would never have had the idea if I hadn’t seen it here….I love it! 🙂
Hope you had a happy Easter!
