We’ve been having a great week (and I can’t believe we only have two days left!). I have so many pictures to share before I move into our 4th of July recap! The following pics are from Monday + Tuesday when we hit the beach, the Shoal’s Club pool, Latitudes for dinner, and Matt Allen’s birthday!
We’ve actually had a bit of trouble with Mazen on the beach. He gets a rash, a scrape, or any kind of issue and is done for the day. We thought he’d never want to come inside this year! He’s much more of a pool guy, but we’re doing our best to keep him entertained.
I am loving wearing tankinis! I might never go back to bikinis again. They are just so much more mom friendly : ) Especially when you have a large + in-charge belly. This one is not maternity but is plenty stretchy from Athleta. It’s also very supportive up top. (And on sale!)
Also obsessed with our Beach Bub umbrellas. We now have two and we can set them up in under 10 minutes for all-day shade. I can’t handle the sun for very long! Best umbrella ever. Larbs and I have matching Scout bags too – by far my favorite beach bag I’ve ever had. Great pockets, and sand free!
Pool day for the bean:
I had this great Southwest Shrimp Salad for lunch.
I’m reading Little Fires Everywhere and liking it a lot! Great writing, characters, and plot so far. We are also Turkish-towel obsessed for the beach!
Dressed up for dinner! (Dress from Old Navy. Mine is maternity, but it comes in regular too!)
Love my boys in their matching J Crew Factory shirts!
Matching at the beach is the best 🙂
We had an awesome array of apps at the Shoal’s Bar (which was half price on Mondays!) That crab and feta dip was my favorite.
After dinner, we spent our final time on the beach for the day.
24 weeks!!
Ice cream erry night.
The following day was beach and pool themed, obvi, and Matt’s birthday! He requested burgers and sweet potato wedges for dinner, and my sister made him a great layered ice cream + cookie cake.
More family pics!
All tucked in for bed!
I’m writing this on the deck, listening to fireworks crack in the distance. Be back with our 4th to share tomorrow!

So fun!!! It seems like kids go through phases of loving the beach then hating the beach then back to loving it!

Our 4 year old was the same way this year! He would be totally fine and loving the beach and then out of nowhere HAD to leave immediately due to cut on foot, sand, salt water in his eyes etc.

Hey kath! What nail brand/color are you wearing in your blue tankini pic? I love that fuschia color!
KathEats says
I think it’s funny when people ask me about my nail color because I never look at the name! I just go by the color sight at the salon. So I’m sorry to say that I have no idea – I wanted a neon pink though, and it’s gel!

I love your whole blue beach set up with the chairs and the umbrella. Which Kindle case is that? I’m a fiend for blue. Thanks for sharing!
KathEats says
It’s this one from Amazon! I used to be anti case until I realized you can fold the cover back and make a little stand so you can lie on your side and read totally hands free! I love it.

Love your dress! Where are your cute sandals from?
KathEats says
They are Toms Lexie!
Fancy says
Omg can you please ask your sister where she bought the matching dresses that she has with her daughter??? I need those for my daughter and I!!! Love!!! PS You’re beautiful, Xo

Little fires everywhere was such a good book! Her other book”everything i never told you” is also great.

Hi there! Where is Mazen’s shark shirt from?
KathEats says
It’s a Rashguard, and I’m actually not sure where he got it, but I love the bright color!

I love your dress with the green leaves. So pretty!
All three of my kids went through that same phase that you described with Mazen on the beach. They did that even at the pool.

I am honestly not a huge fan of the beach … I much prefer the pool BUT I think that’s because I feel like there are more bugs at the beach … eek!
LOVE the cookie and ice cream cake request … did Larbs make the cake or did you guys buy it? If so, where?
KathEats says
The only bug I’ve ever seen at the beach is a fly! In fact, there were wasps and beetles at the pool : )
She made the cake!
