This week we have been wrapping presents, making forts, and playing with lots of Play Doh! I let M wrap a lot of our family gifts. (Well, the ones that were obviously not for him.) What’s funny is that no one will notice because I am such a terrible gift wrapper – people will still think I did it! Mazen had lots of fun, but was not happy when we ran out of gifts. I told him I had more but he couldn’t see them (because they were for him!) and he got really mad! I should have kept my mouth zipped!
Our weather was so warm on Tuesday that we played outside. M made me a pizza, a burger, a taco, and sweet potato fries (out of the orange 🙂 )
I had the same smoothie two days in a row! Spinach, banana, milk, oats, and peanut butter.
We received these Wine Punts as a wedding gift. The ones with my smoothie are the larger size. They are a really pretty aqua color.
I’m sure the double smoothie craving was related to our 60 degree temps. Next week it will be oatmeal and pancakes again!
Tuesday nights have become Big Green Egg Pizza nights. T is still fiddling with the technique to get the perfect crust, but the toppings on this were fantastic – sausage, basil, and fresh mozzarella. I made a spinach salad with red pepper, goat cheese, and honey sliced almonds on the side. You can see that little hands were excited!
We also made a Pecan Panko-Crusted Turbot with roasted broccoli on another night. I love this pre-seasoned panko from Whole Foods. We smoothed on some Dijon mustard to help the panko stick and baked it at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes or so (I forget exactly how long it was.) The broccoli roasted alongside with smoked paprika and lemon, so we had a one-pan clean up!
There were even leftovers for lunch! Plus chicken and bean bake and goat cheese crumbles! The Cuties were for dessert.
That’s a wrap, you guys! (And I mean a 5-year-old messy wrapping job with 10 pieces of tape )

Love that you’re a terrible wrapper! Me too!
Every year I promise myself I’ll try harder… but I just can bring myself to care enough 😀 I’m pregnant with my first baby so maybe I’ll just start training them up to do it as soon ad they’re ready!

Kath, this past weekend I was on the Eastern Shore of Maryland visiting my dad and I met a lady who I started talking to and she asked me where I was from and when I told her Charlottesville, she asked me if I knew your blog. I told her OF COURSE! I love KathEats 🙂 and told her how we used to go to ACAC together (sad student income forced me back to the UVA gyms lol). Anyways she said that she knew your mom! I think her name was Mary Fran Gregory, but I’m not 100% certain. Small world though! I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season 🙂
KathEats says
Yes Mary Frances! She was close with my grandmother for many years. Small world! I was actually JUST thinking about you the other day and how I haven’t seen you around ACAC! Hope you can come back sometime in the future 🙂

We got a big green egg a few months ago and love getting ideas from you! You get much more use out of it than we do, but we did get a bunch of new smoking wood to experiment with so hopefully we’ll use it more.

We’ll be doing something for Christmas dinner on it!

I am terrible at wrapping! And I’m a very artsy person. Artsy. Not Crafty. Drawing and painting not crafting and creating. LOL Hey I followed your friend Lynsie’s recipe for popovers last night. Topped with lemon and powdered sugar. So dang good!
KathEats says
Oh yay – be sure to tell her on Instagram!
