See part I here!
Saturday morning I needed to exercise, so I ran 4ish miles with Aunt Becky at 7am. Felt so great after two days of not moving much!
Afterwards we had a light breakfast before heading to brunch –
Brunch was a baby shower for Matt’s cousin Megan who is expecting her first baby soon!
We nibbled on light bites and sipped sweet tea –
I loved this baby shower project – we all colored alphabet pages and wrote notes to baby Beau and they are being made into a book for him to learn his ABCs. Very cute!
Can’t wait to meet him!
I was desperately craving a salad on Saturday for lunch, so I put this together from ingredients in the fridge. Turkey / squash / peppers / greens.
We went to Calfkiller Brewing for an afternoon activity and had such a fun time! The brothers who own it are a hoot.
Loved their whiskey barrel beer!
Saturday night we celebrated Gran Bett’s birthday at the Fog Light restaurant nearby.
I was so impressed with the menu at this little river restaurant! We had these herby fried pretzels and oysters in a sweet glaze to start
I had a pecan-crusted catfish over herbed grits with green beans for my entree
And special B-Nan-Pud (Gran Bett’s signature dessert!) for dessert! This was some of the best I’ve ever had!
Gran Bett stole the show with stories about each of the grandchildren. Happy Birthday GB!
Makes me miss my grandparents!
We had such a lovely holiday with everyone! So glad we could all get together from near and far.

That living room is the quintessential American family home…coming from an Irish girl and the kind of home we “see” you guys living in 🙂 Looks and sounds like such a nice family time!
