Thanks for all of your shoe recommendations yesterday!!! I am going through them one by one to evaluate. It’s hard to choose when everyone has a favorite! I’m thinking about getting a bunch from Zappos and trying them all on.
Yesterday M and I went over to the Struckmann’s to swim in their pool. First time of the summer! So much fun. Before we jumped in, we had salads with halloumi cheese and shared a pizza with the Sayas.
Afternoon snack: a smoothie from ACAC. Milk / yogurt / banana / mixed berries. Whenever I have the option to create a smoothie, those are my staples. Plus or minus oats, spinach/kale and a nut butter.
Last night was my first summer soccer game! I LOVE summer soccer. The smaller field is so much better for me, and our team played amazingly well last night, winning 8-4. One of those goals was mine!!!!!!! We only had two women and you have to have two on the field at all times in summer co-ed, so Gaby and I played all 70 minutes. Waaaatttter!
“Dinner” was a mini grilled cheese before the game and a yogurt after. Then straight to bed!
This morning I had some homemade yogurt with cherries and banana, raw oats and some of the Quaker Real Medleys granola on top that Quaker sent for me to try (loved it – super crunchy!)
I am working on a recipe this morning and have a post on podcasts coming up this afternoon!

I freaking love halloumi! I think my favourite way to have it is to roast veggies and then add the halloumi for the last few minutes in the oven. So delicious.
That yogurt, fruit & granola bar looks super fresh and yummy. Can’t wait for cherry season to arrive where I live!

The smoothie looks so great and refreshing! Given this warm weather lately, I’ve been meaning to create one of my own and it may be on my agenda, today! Looking forward to checking out the recipe you’re working on!

I love smoothies too! I used to play soccer and swimming too but I’d get seizures from overextertion 🙁 so I couldn’t play sports at all!

Isn’t that granola awesome!! It is one of my favorites right now. I have had yogurt and granola bowls almost every day this week and just can’t get enough.

I am late to the shoe debate, but I highly recommend Alice + Whittles espadrilles (http://www.aliceandwhittles.com/collections/all-espadrilles). They make shoes similar to Toms, but they do it through carefully curating sustainable materials, and providing ethical, livable wages for their workers. I have about 5 pairs of them. Full disclosure – the company was started by a dear friend of mine who left the UN to find a solution to fairly include populations around the world in creating everyday products. Check them out! They also have a very cute fair trade rubber boot collection.

Halloumi cheese is the best! Have you grilled it before? If not, you MUST try it! It doesn’t melt like you would think. It just gets warm & has delicious grill marks and a yummy, nutty flavor. Oh man, it’s delish!

Can’t wait for the homemade yogurt! We spend so much $$ on yogurt each week in our house! I love summer for the pool days and days outside! Perfection!
