From Grandma Buzz:
The Bears are going to live with their mom and dad in their new home very soon. I wanted to do something extra special for them before they left. I decided they have probably never had junk food. I’m the grandma, so I seized the chance. They were so darling in the convenience store and each made a very careful decision.
Churton chose cheese curls. He thought they were delicious!
And he learned they could be put to educational use too.
Bocker was worried about what his mom was going to say if she found out he was having candy. He chose something with fruit in its name because that sounded nutritious. He was delighted when a visiting ballerina appeared on our porch. He came back into the kitchen and asked for a nice dish so he could serve her properly.
Beaker selected cupcakes. Or I should say luckily selected cupcakes. Turns out it was the ballerina’s birthday! All joined in on a rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday."
Then, when the bears cut the cupcake open, they were enchanted. Bocker said, "Grammie, there’s icing inside."
They had no clue such wonders existed. It’s a good thing the world has grandmothers!
Monique says
SO cute! And quite hilarious.
Freya @ Brit Chick Runs says
Lol! Bad bears rebelling..I hope they’ll be on a strict lettuce-only diet when they come back to live with you 😛
Coco @ Opera Girl Cooks says
You’re spoiling those bears like a proper grandma, Kath! Well done.
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
They sound like my kids! Junk food is such a mystery! They get it from time to time…but regret eating it afterwards!
Rae says
That’s incredibly cute! I’m sure the bears will thoroughly enjoy their new home… and the occasional treat 🙂
Maggie (livingfoodjunkie) says
That was so adorable and cute! Got to love grandmas 😀
Coco @ Opera Girl Cooks says
Oops, I misread — they are living with grandma right now. And SHE wrote this post and is feeding them junk food. Oh dear . . . this is just too much!
Cynthia (It All Changes) says

Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday says
I don’t get it. What’s with the teddy bears?
Kath says
You need to read more carefully!
Whitney says
wow…
andrea says
@kath i read carefully and i dont get it. sorry…i wanna get it though:)))
Jennifer says
Kath has explained the history of the bears before (in a previous post). However, I don’t see it linked in this post which would be helpful if someone is a new reader. I am not sure how a more careful reading would provide further background to either Samantha Angela or Andrea.
CJ says
Maybe these readers could go back and actually find and read the previous posts where the bears have been explained!! They have been featured and explained many times.
Jennifer says
How would a new reader know that?
Jennifer says
Kath, maybe you could make a Bears tag or a favorite posts section (I know you link back to receipes) so new readers can catch up quickly. If this has already been done, I apologize 🙂
Kath says
My comment was directed at Samantha only!!!
New readers just have to ask nicely and I’ll explain 🙂
Lita says
But then you would have less things to act snotty about, CJ ! Not everyone reads this blog all the time.
CJ says
Oh please – you people are just too lazy to actually go find the posts in the archives!
andrea says
wow!
Wei-Wei says
Okay, guys. Just cool down for a second… I do believe that Samantha has been a reader for some time (I think…) so Kath was just telling her to read a bit more carefully. And to new readers: Don’t be afraid to ask Kath what’s going on! Once you get it, it’s incredibly cute.
Um, these are three teddy bears. They stay with Kath’s mom and call her “Grandma”. I do believe this post was written by Kath’s mom, was it not? Correct me if I’m wrong, Kath 😉

Samantha Angela @ Bikini Birthday says

These bear updates have been my favorite part of your blog lately! Your mom needs to create a series of children’s books based on the bears visiting their grandma’s!
Kathy W. says
You can tell your mom is a writer! I know she’s written a number of children’s books–is she working on a new one?
Teddy bear photos plus captions that told a story would actually make a great kids’ picture book…Churton et al would become stars!
kathleen says
Best Grammie Ever! My grandma Nonnie used to give us Pepperidge Farm Milanos and Brussels when we came to visit, man do I miss those times with my grandma. Before I forget, happy birthday to the visiting ballerina. 😉

WARNING! Grandmas do this with actual, real children. My three come back from time at Granny’s house in a state of EXTREME hyperactivity from all the treats (junk) they get there. That said, it sounds like KERF mom would be a wonderful grandma. If you have children one day you can organize a real-life teddy bears’ picnic with the gang. So cute.
lynn (The Actors Diet) says
i want some of those cheetos!!!
