This Strawberry Peach Smoothie is a simple and naturally sweet breakfast or snack for a hot summer day. With five whole-food ingredients, it’s packed with vitamins and minerals and the kids will love it!
Did you guys have a nice 4th weekend?
We did both pool and party hopping and enjoyed an extra long weekend.
I have a smoothie recipe for you to kick off the week!
We love smoothies year round, but especially on hot and steamy summer mornings!
Not only are they a cool, refreshing breakfast or snack when it’s too hot to turn on the stove, but they are an easy way to enjoy a variety of fruits or vegetables all at once.
I have published my fair share of smoothie recipes, and have a post with tips and tricks to make the best smoothie.
I always add a handful of spinach or kale to the boys’ fruit smoothies and this recipe is no different (that’s why it’s not pink!).
The boys are used to all smoothies being muddy green With a Vitamix, everything blends like magic and the kids never know (sneaky move – shhh!).
It’s Summer Fruit Season!
My favorite season!! Berries and stone fruits are my favorites of them all.
Freezing fruit first will yield a much thicker smoothie, and you won’t even need to add ice.
If you have an abundance of fruit from orchard picking, freeze pieces of fruit on a sheet pan (so they won’t stick together) and then move them to a silicone bag (like these).
What I love about this simple strawberry peach smoothie is that it can easily be poured into popsicle molds too – the kids go nuts over these!
Ingredients in Strawberry Peach Smoothie
Frozen peaches
Ideally you’d use a fresh-frozen peach, but pre-frozen from the store works too!
Frozen banana
I always have frozen bananas on hand because they are the KEY to making a smoothie thick and creamy! Wait until they are spotted and ripe, peel, break them in half, and freeze them in silicone bags. I rarely make a smoothie without one.
Fresh or frozen strawberries
A frozen banana is essential, but you can leave the strawberries fresh if you want! Or swap in mixed berries.
Spinach
Always add a handful! You can’t taste it at all.
Milk of your choice
We use whole cow’s milk in our house, but use what you like.
Vanilla Protein Powder
Optional! I like protein powder for the flavor. I love Arbonne for plant-based and Naked Whey for grass-fed.
Enjoy in a bowl with a spoon, in a glass with a straw, or pour into popsicle molds and keep cool!!
