It’s rather sticky here this morning – I had to turn the AC down a notch!
It’s also very dusty here. I don’t dust that often, but the house seems to have accumulated a layer of dirt while I was gone. Must have been those stinky boys!
Breakfast this morning was a Blackberry Smoothie
Heavy on the blackberries! Made with milk, banana, blackberries, chia seeds, plain yogurt, Nature’s Path granola and Clementine Cashew Butter!
Krissy of Make It Naked dropped by the bakery while I was gone and brought me this and a delicious pecan butter. The clem flavor is spot on!!
And the Adagio Coconut Tea is everything I hoped it would be!!!
I stayed up till 12:30 last night…partly jet-jagged and party because I discovered you can download apps to your Android phone to change the keyboard! I bought Perfect Keyboard and LOVE the changes – you can use different skins (and even have an iPhone keyboard) and there’s a punctuation toolbar so you can have @ and : ) right at your fingertips. Really liked it!
Now I just need a bigger screen to fit this new keyboard!
I have lots to catch up on today – have a good one!
Emily@SavoryandSavage says
You always find the most interesting things. I am definitely going to check out that app.

I know this is a random question, but where did you get your spoons?!? They are so pretty!

lynn @ the actor's diet says
woah you showed up in my reader 4x this morning!
Katie of Cabbage Ranch says
I love the flavor of blackberries, but not so much the seeds. Adding the granola like you did would help with that texture issue. Btw, your delicious oatmeal pics gotme back on the bandwagon eating it. Delicious. Healthy. Thanks, Kath!
Namaste Gurl says
Such a purrty smoothie– partly because of the colors 🙂 YOu certainly do well at eating the rainbow!
Have a wonderful and successful day!
Ashley @ Coffee Cake and Cardio says
I bet you’re happy to be back home, fresh food and healthy choices. I’ve had a great vacation, but I’m excited to get back to my routine and my diet.
Kat says
Which Android do you have? I have the HTC hero and love it but HATE the keyboard. Going to look for a replacement today! Thanks for the idea!
KathEats says
I have the HTC Aria – which is too small! I’d get the Samsung Charge – HUGE screen!
Cait @ Cait hates Cake says
Clemetine Cashew Butter? Awesome! Do you have Swype on your Android phone? I can type SO much faster with it.
KathEats says
I don’t have Swype on my phone which is why I got the app!
Allie (Live Laugh Eat) says
I didn’t even know alternative keyboards existed!
P.S. I miss you!!!
Sally Anne @ PaleoRunnerGirl says
Oooh! I have never been brave enough to add blackberries to a smoothie. I feel like they are so tart and extra-seedy this season. Does the banana help to mellow it out a bit? I may have to try this sometime soon! Thanks for the idea, Kath!
KathEats says
Yeah I think the other flavors soften them some
J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) says

Glad KERF is back up and running. Started my day with Overnight Oats with lots of frozen mixed berries (partially thawed by the time I ate them). So tasty! I am SO VERY GLAD I finally bought some certified gluten-free oats. I am loving every bite!!!

That cashew butter sounds amazing! I’ve made cashew butter a few times before and loved it, but the last time I made it I used olive oil and blech!! It totally tastes like it now 🙁

Kath,
I’ve been admiring your breakfasts for three years! Do you try to eat a specific number of calories every morning with your oatmeal based bowls? I was just wondering because they seem hearty and nutritious and seem to keep you going for hours. I am striving to be able to eat an oatmeal bowl that keeps me full for four hours.
Thanks!
KathEats says
I know sort of that they are around 500 calories – but I don’t count. I know if I eat closer to 300 I’ll be too hungry and I know 700 is too much. 400-600 works well for me and lasts me 4-6 hours.
greenbean says
Just checked out that Perfect Keyboard. I’m just not cool with them being able to have access to my passwords and credit card info. no thanks.
KathEats says
They say that Android makes all keyboard apps say that, but since it has many thousand positive responses I’m not worried
rumfunandsun says
The title pretty much sums up what it’s like outside here!!! I love my android app too! I often lose sleep playing with my phone! Last night I was up later putting a calorie counter and a training program on my phone and then playing with them!!!

Hi Kath,
I really like the look of your blog and I was just wondering if you designed your blog yourself, and if you use a theme or you wrote all the code? Also, did you do the header yourself?
Thanks – Karen
KathEats says
I did it myself, but I started with a very customizable theme. I did have to learn some CSS and did a ton of Googling, but CSS isn’t as hard to figure out as HTML. I did my header too, but I don’t think it’s that great!
Sara @ lemony snippet says
Thanks for taking the time to respond, I know how busy you are. Also, I love your header. It’s cute and fitting!

I’m debating on the Android or iPhone…any tips? Thanks! 🙂

Great tip on the Android keyboard! I had no idea you could change that and I’m not crazy about the default one. Thanks!

When I read that you had a Blackberry Smoothie for a split second Ithought it was going to be a high-tech beverage.
