I’ve had a little bit of a change in plans today. We had something come up this morning that had me up at 5am and busy [everything is OK – nothing serious].
I had a banana around 7am, had a free window from 7:30-8:30 where I surprisingly went out for a quick 3 mile run in some misty drizzle. Just finished up a delicious bowl of pumpkin apple yogurt!
- 1 cup Oikos
- 1/2 cup pumpkin
- Pinch cinnamon
- Pinch ground cloves
- 1 apple, nuked for 60 seconds
- 1 scoop peanut butter
- Sprinkle chia seeds
- Splatter of Cville Cluster
Gonna get a coffee at the bakery!

Have a smooth rest of the day! I was looking at the apple in the first photo thinking it was super marshmallowy banana.

I haven’t been to the grocery store since I was out of town for two weeks and I’m in dire need of yogurt – love the idea of warming the apple!

I made sweet potato greek yogurt recently and loved the new dimension it added. I’m so pumped for winter squash season so I can experiment with other yogurts!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
glad you made it through a crazy morning! another beautiful breakfast bowl 🙂
Sarah says
Do you ever worry about the yogurt and heated up fruit not blending well…or cause clumping of the yogurt?
KathEats says
actually, yes, I do worry about that!!! I’ve been luckily lately 🙂
Natalia says
I know this isn’t regarding oatmeal, but I actually add yogurt instead of milk to my oatmeal after I cook it and it’s still hot, then let it sit for a few minutes before eating it. I thought it would clump but it doesn’t! It adds such a creamy texture to it!
Hilliary @ Happily Ever Healthy says
Glad you got through a crazy morning! I hope the rest of your day goes smoothly!

I had a very similar breakfast! Overnight oat with Greek yogurt, Coach’s Oat (I have a lifetime supply thanks to your open sky deal!), and PUMPKIN! With cville cluster and banana on top 🙂
Hope everything is okay… Have a great (rainy, again) Thursday!

aren’t the apples in there fantastic! loved it when I tried it the other day. I finished my small can of pumpkin this morning and it felt like a bit of a feat! The big one looks a bit more daunting. More power to you for diving into can #2! 🙂

5am IS early! I very rarely am up that early, even for workout mornings. I have trouble when it is still dark out and I am supposed to be waking up!
Johanna B says
Instead of catching the bus for the second leg of my trip to work this morning I walked. It was cool and pretty and it felt so good. I love early morning exercise. Oh, BTW I got to work earlier than I would have by waiting for the bus.
Ellie@fitforthesoul says
woww I miss getting up that early! well kind of, haha. But the feeling you get is so good, the problem is actually being able to do it 😛 Have a beautiful day Kath~
Cait's Plate says
Mmm – I love the idea of that flavor combo. I’ve been dying to do pumpkin apple oats but was worried the combo might be strange. You’ve completely convinced me that it will not be 🙂
I loved the Coach’s Oats by the way! Had them this morning with PUMPKIN!! All that was missing was Cville Cluster granola to make it a completely perfect bowl 😉

Thought this was cool – CNN Money listed dietitian as the #3 position in their “Best Jobs for Saving the World” article! Of course I write about it at www.EllaRDinLA.com or you could google it 🙂
