It is an absolutely GORGEOUS day out there! I can’t believe I am chasing a snow storm…..
Fun times at the bakery! I worked for a few hours after our meeting. Helped lots of customers. Bagged breads. Ate strawberry cream cheese frosting…
Other highlights today in addition to our regular line of healthy whole grain products where cinnamon swirl
And these cinnamon buns!
Made from scratch and selling fast!
For lunch I had a half ham sandwich. I rarely [if ever?] eat our deli meats since we have so many great pescatarian options, but I am on a pork craving kick this week (hence the BBQ yesterday) and decided on a ham + cheese.
Pregnancy women request all the time that we steam the deli meat first which should take care of any scary bacteria. Turned it into a hot ham and cheese!
On the side – one pikal and a side of BBQ chips shared with Karen and Matt. BBQ kick totally!
Yesterday my stomach grew an inch horizontally. In ONE day I noticed a huge difference from morning to night! I don’t think it was just ice cream either because it’s firm under there and poking out. My torso is also extremely THICK!
Packing time!

Hi Kath!
I’ve been following your blog for about a month now and just wanted to say how much I admire your dedication – especially when it comes to posting pictures! I recently started a blog of my own and pictures/editing feel like such a hassle each time… I much prefer writing 🙂 Anyways, congrats on such an exciting time in your life! I can’t wait to see pics once the baby is born!
Michelle

Just stooped by the bakery to get lunch and pick up a loaf of bread. Everything was delicious and you guys were selling out of stuff really fast. Matt recognized me (I was impressed!) and told me that you had been there for a while. Sorry we missed you! 🙂 Have a great trip though. And enjoy the freakishly nice weather!
KathEats says
I’m sorry to have missed you!! I waited till about 1pm but had to get on the road. Hope the visit was delicious!

Everything you make Great Harvest looks so great. You also look great! Glowing!!!

I forgot how good a ham and cheese sandwich is…although it has to be toasted so the cheese gets nice + gooey!

your great harvest – the place and the product – look lovely, fresh and inviting. even more bummed out about my local great harvest now. worlds apart. that’s all i’ll say. perhaps it’s a blessing in disguise – saving me from countless (though wholesome and delicious) calories. glass half-full? anyway, well done and congrats.
KathEats says
Thank you…I’m sorry your location is underwhelming 🙁
Brittnie (A Joy Renewed) says
So many delicious foods in this post – cinnamon-sugar anything is an all time favorite of mine so that bread and the cinnamon buns look absolutely amazing.
Funny you noticed a difference in one day…. so did my husband. This was his comment to me yesterday “Wow you really look pregnant… like you really look big. It happened overnight” Ha… thanks babe. 🙂
JessicaE says
Aw you look great and so happy. My waist and torso thickened… but then nothing else really popped till about week 16. 🙂 I look more and more like I have an actual baby in there instead of just a food baby. 🙂
trang says
I thought the tidbit about the ham was cute, as I’m sure you’ve sense there’ll be criticism if you hadn’t mentioned it. Also, I’m noticing little changes to your blog and love the additions! Small, but effective. And you look lovely, glowing these days! Have a great weekend. =)
Karen says
You look glowing! when are you revealing the baby blog!?!
KathEats says
Hopefully a week from now!

I have followed your site for a couple of years but haven’t been here in awhile. I just found out I am pregnant and wanted some meal ideas since nothing sounds good to eat. And bam! Your pregnant too. Congrats. I can’t wait for BERF and now I know I am not going crazy with my veggie aversion.
KathEats says
Congrats to you too!
Katie says
You definitely have the pregnancy glow! I remember the tight poking out belly feeling, just wait until he or she really is poking you! I had occasional cravings for deli meat and heated it up first, plus hot ham and cheese (or grilled or toasted on GH bread of course) is definitely better than cold. Does pink frosting mean that maybe it’s a girl? Just an early prediction and idea for shower food.
KathEats says
Haha – if it is a girl Matt will have to make them again for me!
Karen says
Ha…Alex cracks me up every time! He’s adorable!
You look absolutely glowing, but I’d never have guessed you were pregnant if I hadn’t known how flat-stomached you are normally.
Safe travels!

Samantha says
Ohhhh everything from the bakery looks so yummy! I’m hungry now!
Mindy says
Haven’t had a ham and cheese in a while. Sounds delicious. I’m loving the “bump” photo!
Moira says
Hoping to pop into the bakery this week…can you give me a rundown on what is dairy free?
KathEats says
You’re best bet will be to talk to our staff so they can tell you exactly what we have that day. Dakota, Honey, High Five, Cville Crunch, Whole Grain Goodness, Cinnamon Raisin Walnut, Very Berry <--- they should all be dairy free (but double check!) Obviously the cheesy breads are not. Most of our sweets have eggs and/or butter, but I think some might not have butter.
The Healthy Apple says
You look fabulous! Yea for your cute belly. Love it. And those bakery treats look amazing, Kath; my mouth is watering. So yummy.
Be safe in the snow.
xo

I’m jealous that you have all of those amazing sandwich ingredients at your fingertips all the time. I desperately want to try the tofu and curried tuna sandwiches.
By the way, I enjoyed a big pile of roasted kale chips doused in ketchup with dinner tonight. I would never have thought to add ketchup, but it really is the perfect combination!
Laurie says
My daughter and I went to our Great Harvest today. No where near as appealing. I tasted the Irish Soda which was amazing, bought the Woodstock, which was good, not amazing and of course a loaf of cinnamon swirl! If all GH use the same cinnamon swirl recipe, my daughters friends mom developed that recipe for her company Montana Mills which was bought by Krispy Kreme and somehow the recipes may have been sold to GH! I like your loaves. Ours are round which I find to be a pain!
KathEats says
I can’t wait till we make Irish Soda in March!!
KathEats says
Oh and cool about the recipe! I’m sure if it’s not the same one, it’s very close
Lexi @ Cura Personalis Foodie says
Oh my gosh, those baked goods look fantastic! Can I just have a bowl of that strawb frosting to go? 😀
Angel7 says
Do you and Matt sell a lot of sandwiches? What is your best seller overall?
http://faithfulsolutions.blogspot.com/
KathEats says
We do. Dakota and Honey bread are our best sellers. But on the sandwich front people seem to like Turkey + Cheese more than any of the more interesting ones! The Monticello Garden is #2 though and Curried Tuna is not far behind
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
That cinnamon swirl bread looks SO good!! I need to learn to bake my own bread…I just love it so much!
Lauren says
There is nothing that looks better than a spread of bakery goods. The cinnamon buns especially look delicious! Now if only the internet could learn to capture the smell of them as well….
