Started my day by squashing a spider…!
Otherwise, good morning!!
When Matt walked in the door with a loaf of Cville Crunch last night, I made plans for toast for breakfast. Spiders not invited.
I layered Vermont Apple Butter (from a blog reader!), sunflower butter, banana and Biscoff on top of two toasted slices. Tasted good, yo.
On the side I made a vanilla tea latte – latte because I used extra milk for extra protein. Creamy!
It’s dark, dreary and rainy here, but it’s one of those times that I know sunshine is on the other end of the day, so it’s cool.
Bon voyage!
katie @KatieDid says
love the froth, now your part barista with that frother on hand!
Molly @ RDexposed says
I hate when people choose to “free” the spider vs killing it. I am paranoid that the little creature will find its way back to me only to freak me out again!
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says
Hmmm definetly could go for a latte right now! Looks fab 🙂
Jessica / Green Skies and Sugar Trips says
I really need to take this as a sign and just get the dang frother already!!! I’ve been wanting frothy morning drinks, just keep putting it off.
Also
BISCOFF!!!!!!! Barb (Creativeculinary on twitter) has fallen in love with it, sings its praises often and thus has sent me on a hunt for it! I am waiting for it to get back in stock at my local store. I can’t wait to try it!!!!
And Spiders are not good!!! I’ve been bitten twice by Brown Recluses, and spent 2weeks in the hospital because of it!! They are no joke! I’m glad you squashed it! 🙂
Anna @ On Anna's Plate says
Ugh– I ENDED my might last night by ordering my husband to kill a roach in our kitchen!!! The worst!!!
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
The trouble with spiders is that it takes me so long to work up the nerve to kill it, yet they move so quickly. I once just sucked one up with the vacuum – that thing was HUGE! *shudder*
lynda @ healthy hoboken girl says
I so wish we had a Great Harvest in this area….your bread always looks delicious!!!
Have a wonderful day!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
i love apple butter!
a dreary day isn’t terrible every once in a while.. makes you thankful for the sunshin-y ones!
Kristin says
Yum! Your breakfast looks so fancy and delish!
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
Spiders are way scarier in the morning. The latte looks delish!
Johanna B says
I had a visit from a large hairy spider in my bedroom a couple of nights ago and I thought of you. I wish I could tell you I took the high road and gently scooped him up and let him live the rest of his life outside but that is not what happened. Here’s to a spiderless day.
Amanda- The Nutritionist Reviews says
I love the green and blue colors of your napkins/placemats! Very pretty.
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
Frothy goodness along with sunflower seed butter…perfect start to the day.
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says

Love the colors for today’s post–blue/green 🙂

Oh no! Poor spidey 🙁

I think you are the only person that can make toast for breakfast look so fancy! 🙂

It’s dark, dreary and rainy here too! I’m hoping sunshine is on the other end though otherwise I will be VERY sad!
Breakfast looks incredible and I’m LOVING the tea latte with sprinkle of…cinnamon??
Hilliary @ Happily Ever Healthy says
It is a dark gloomy day here too! Makes me want to curl up and take a nap!
Casey @ Pocket Full of Sunshine says
Breakfast looks delish!
It’s dreary here too—feels cozy!
Tami@Nutmeg Notebok says
I love apple butter and recently made some muffins that included some apple butter in the ingredients. Delicious and perfect for Fall.
The weather is getting cooler and the spiders are moving inside! It creeps me out too.
Khushboo says
I love pb & toast but I have this mind block that it won’t keep me as full as oatmeal!
Genie @ Healthy Living Now says
My, my that vanilla tea latte looks good! Would have that anytime of any day 🙂 You are very brave facing that spidey. Thanks for sharing.
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
You’re becoming quite the coffee/tea maker!! I’m impressed. 😉 I hate spiders with a passion – probably one of my biggest fears!
Sweet and Savvy says
Spiders are the only things I hate about this time of year!
Julia H. @ The Petite Spiel says
Dark, dready, and rainy here, too…there was thunder & lightning all night!
I never thought to combine something like apple butter with a nut butter, but man oh man I’ll bet that combo is incredible. There’s a jar of pumpkin butter waiting for me back home…maybe I’ll try that out over Thanksgiving break!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
MmmmMmmm yummy! Happy Wednesday! 🙂
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
That latte looks a million times better than the crappy airport coffee I just had!
Jenn says
Breakie looks good. My ride to work was cold, but the wet held off, for now! It’ll probably be pouring rain by the time I leave work. It’s gonna be a wet ride (cycle) home!
Christine @ Oatmeal in my Bowl says
I was craving similar this morning. But I had an English muffin smothered in PB and layered with bananas. Yum. Ice coffee to boot. I’d be in heaven if I could have the selection of breads you have at your finger tips. 😉
Andrea says
I love a dreary day – and walking on a crisp, dreary fall day is my absolute favorite! I hate spiders too – yuck! How’s that sticky trap working for you?
KathEats says
I bought a Hobo trap – and it looks like they only live in the west?? No spiders have taken to them yet..
Andrea says
Drat! My brother uses the sticky traps in his garage and basement and he catches tons of them – he’s even caught mice in his garage in the autumn when they start to look for a warm place to nest for the winter. I think if you decide to use those it should DEFINITELY be Matt’s job to pick up the full traps – yucky! Good luck!
Sarah@The Flying ONION says
If the Great Harvest Bread Company wasn’t over an hours drive from where I am, I would eat bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner. True story. Looks delicious! 😀
Katie @ Peace Love and Oats says
dark and dreary here too – but apparently no sunshine until friday! Your breakfast sounds amazing though, all those good flavors! I’d love a latte, if only starbucks used almond milk! (no dairy or soy for me now…)
Cat @Breakfast to Bed says
it’s going to be craptastic here all damn day. At least NY is getting a good washing. I feel bad for the OWS’ers, though.
faith says
Did you make it to cycle or do you want to come flow with Pilar at 4:15? Stretch out them hiking muscles….
Deva @ Deva by Definition says
It’s going to be cold and rainy here for the next couple of days. I think tomorrow I’ll be running on the treadmill instead of outside.
Amanda says
It’s raining in Boston too. Kind of a bummer, but I have a lot of work to do, so at least I’m not tempted to go outside!
I’m such a wimp when it comes to spiders, or any bugs really. If someone else is around, I’ll make them deal with it. I don’t want to be anywhere near them!
Clare says
I totally get being scared of the poisonous spiders. However if I were you I would get really good at recognizing recluses and hobos, and take a moment to catch the other little guys and take them out. It would mean being brave, and taking a few moments out of your day, but spiders are an imprtant part of our ecosystem, and deserve to live their little lives too!
~Christy @ wonderofallthings says
mmmm…vermont apple butter! Sounds awesome! A full on cloudy, super chilly taste of late fall here in MN…highs in the 40’s!!! makes the latte look like a good idea, too!
Allison says
How do you make a homemade latte?! Do you have a fanchy smanchy machine? I am interested in investing a frother to make a cappuccino since I don’t have a machine…
KathEats says
Check back a few breakfasts ago – I got a cheap frother from IKEA
Jen@FoodFamilyFitness says
Ugh. I freaking hate spiders. Shortly after we moved into our house I woke up with a nasty bite on my foot, turns out it was from a wolf spider. Creepy bastard was in my BED and bit me when I was sleeping. I HATE spiders!!!
Angel7 says
I heard someone refer to the rain as “liquid sunshine” 🙂

Ugh, I hate spiders so much! I cannot even kill them. I’ll either scream for my fiance if he is home or I’ll suck it through the vaccum! 😉 Classy, I know.
Breakfast look yummy!
Brittnie (A Joy Renewed) says
You have some of the tastiest looking breakfast dishes out there. I always look forward to your breakfast posts. Gives me inspiration to get creative w. my own morning meals!
TeenyLittleSuperChef says
Is there a way to have the Cvill Crunch bread sent to me in Oregon? I drool everytime you have it for breakfast and need to get my paws on a loaf (or 20) ASAP! A couple jars of Biscoff spread would be appreciated as well. I have yet to try that and have heard from you and many others that it’s to die for. Hook me up 🙂
KathEats says
I’m sorry, but we’re not set up to ship breads yet. There are also tons of GH’s in Oregon – ask them for Flax Oat Bran (same bread!)
Although it may seem so at times, I am not a Biscoff dealer 🙂
Becca says
Now THAT is my kind of breakfast! (I am all about toast, I just love the crunch).
CheezyK says
Eww, I finished my day yesterday with killing a spider . I try to avoid it if I can but this one required urgent action – the cat was trying to catch it and I DID NOT want him eating a poisonous one! Ended up grabbing it quickly with TP and flushing it still kicking +o(
