Beautiful morning to you!
It’s a perfect fall day to break out the French press. Unfortunately, coffee just isn’t as good as it used to be. All those months of tea. I guess that’s for the best given my caffeine issues. Tea will remain!
Whipped banana oatmeal made with chia seeds, cottage cheese and banana, of course. Cville Cluster on top with a scoop of melting Barney Butter!
I’m sleeping well again. Mood is back up to perky status. El Leon says hi!
Time for a whole lotta home improvement!
Sweet and Savvy says
I have not been much into coffee lately, either! It is really weird, because it used to be the first thing I reached for in the morning, but I’m now on a Chai tea kick, and it is quite the new addiction! 🙂
Lynda @ Healthy Hoboken Girl says
Excited for you and your home improvement!! Have a wonderful day off in the new house!!
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says
It really is a beautiful morning! Love the bowl 🙂
Krissy - Shiawase Life says

Enjoy your Sunday and don’t work too hard 🙂
sarah (the SHU box) says

Allie@LiveLaughEat says
Have a fabulous day off!
Simply Life says
good morning to you! What does the “whipped” in whipped banana oats mean? Do you stir them in differently?
KathEats says
Yep – check the Tribute to Oatmeal page for the recipe
Dee says
Yum! I miss having oatmeal in the morning! This particular bowl looks divine. 🙂
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
Glad you’re sleeping well again! Those oats looks delish on this chilly morning.
katie @KatieDid says
I love reading about your coffee phases! It actually kind of intrigues me how the taste can come and go so drastically. I’m a tried and true coffee drinker and think I always will be, but I definitely remember a period when the thought of it made me sick for a few months. Then I jumped back on and haven’t looked back haha. Have a fun day of cleaning and decorating!
Lynda says
I love coffee in the morning. I don’t think it’s such a bad habit and they actually say it provides antioxidants (I think?). Oh well, it’s the least of “vices” to worry about when you don’t overdue, just like anything else. I can’t see giving it up either:)
KathEats says
I think it’s a great habit if you don’t have some of the achy side effects that I have. It IS very good for you. I just can’t handle so much caffeine.
Lynda says
Sorry, I must have missed all of the side effects that you get from coffee/caffeine Kath. That is good that you were able to figure out what was causing the achy side effects. I should have been clearer in my response because I don’t drink any caffeine after the morning coffee, since I couldn’t handle more than that either. Thanks for the reply:)
DkR says
Hey Kath! I don’t usually comment, but I thought you would like to know about the Charlottesville Vegetarian Festival next weekend~ whether for the blog or Great Harvest.
That’s all!

I am having the same breakfast today but mine has some coconut, butterscotch chips and a little Justin’s honey almond on top. It is cooler and rainy here in Portland today and it is just what is needed. Loving the pics of your new home. Congrats!

I love the El Lion sign!
Cait's Plate says
Yay for sleeping well – I’m hoping to get back to that place as soon as is humanly possible!
I woke up in the best perky mood as well – I think it’s the coming of Fall. Agreed that it was the perfect day to break out the coffee – it was the first thing I did upon waking. I wish I could be a tea girl, but I’m a coffee one through and through 🙂
Christine (The Raw Project) says
Lovely breakfast. Glad you’re getting better sleep, can’t wait for the home improvement details.
Ellie@fitforthesoul says
cuuuute~I need to get a chalkboard soon! 😀 I love tea AND coffee, but for staying awake purposes, cofffee is the winner! Have a grreeeeat day!
Abby @ Abz 'n' Oats says
Chalkboard art in homes is the best! So creative and always the option to edit! I need one! 🙂
D @ Lifevsfood.com says
Do the chia seeds add to the flavor of the oatmeal? I’ve been having oatmeal for about a month, but have yet to make the journey to chia.
KathEats says
Not really – they are more for texture
D @ Lifevsfood.com says
You’ve convinced me to try though. Appreciate the response.
I grabbed some $10 for $20 wholefood groupons last week – Time for a trip.
Thanks again .
lynn @ the actor's diet says

Have a wonderful and productive day, Kath! 😀
The Healthy Hipster says
You’ve inspired me to go pick up some tea today, kath! I am certainly a coffee addict, but I also love a warming flavourful cup of spiced tea on a fall day. 🙂
Nikki says
I like both coffee and tea… but really depends on my mood and how cold it is! I love tea when I am cold, or a nice spicy tea in the fall! My favourite right now, Good Earth Sweet & Spicy. Like a cinnamon heart in a cup! hrmm… I’m off to the kitchen to make a cup!
Kaila @healthyhelperblog! says
I am going through the opposite right now….I am looooovin’ coffee!!!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
You sound chipper today. I’m glad you’re getting your sleep! We partied a little hard last night and I see a nap in my very near future. Ya gotta love Saturdays with friends that lead to lazy Sundays. Have a great one Kath!

not sure if you have a fresh market near you, but if you do, i just got the most fantastic tea! the brand is republic of tea and it is pumpkin spice red. naturally caffeine free and SO delicious!! sipping some now steeped in half almond milk, half water. perfect for a cloudy, rainy fall day.
KathEats says
Oh cool – I’ll look for it!

KathEats says
These are sort of new — maybe 2 mos?
