Mazen and I had SUCH a fun morning together!!
I started the day with a special breakfast – baked banana oatmeal plus walnuts and chocolate chips. I prepped all the ingredients the night before so it was quick to pull it together first thing.
My bananas turned a little brown, and I took it out of the oven too early so it collapsed a little on me, but Mazen and I gobbled it down!
The first stop in our day was Target to empty my wallet of all its dollar bills.
Then we went to Snip-Its for a much-needed hair cut! Love putting a little styling product in there at the end : )
After his haircut (which went sooo smoothly this time!) we went for a special treat to visit the new Jump Cville trampoline park! Wed – Friday mornings are “Jumping Beans” time for littles. While there were wild big kids around, it wasn’t too crowded and they were very mindful of M.
We had a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it was a tie which one of us had the most fun : )
The foam pit was a huge hit too! We jumped in and climbed out to repeat about 10 times. Talk about a workout! Wear your sports bras ladies : )
Jumpy jump!
Our final stop was the bakery for lunch where I had a salad with pimento cheese and tofu and M enjoyed a PB&J dipped in my balsamic dresssing. Ew!
I left him playing trains in his room, and he’s now climbing into his bed for a nap!
Happy Jump Hump Day!

Sounds like a great day! Love seeing all your yummy foods, I used to make baked oatmeal ALL.THE.TIME when I did daycare! I think I need to put it on the menu again…

It’s actually called Snip-Its 🙂

Fixed! Thanks

OMG little man’s hair looks so adorable! My son is not keen on the whole jumping thing yet. Maybe this year, now that he’s three, we’ll give it another shot. That salad looks delish!

This is one of the cutest posts! First the baked oatmeal is one of my faves and it looks like you found an awesome flavour combo! Mazen’s with his haircut is way too much cute to handle! I took my niece to a trampoline park recently and boy did I get a workout! Was not expecting that one!
Shel@PeachyPalate says
I love trampolining!!! Wish we had a place like that here!!!
Amanda @ Life To Table says
I bought that exact same train set for my nephew! The sad thing is I could not figure out how to put it together lol!
KathEats says
Haha it’s actually an airport and it is SO tricky that we mostly just put it in a straight line!

Mazen is so adorable! Enjoy him now. Before you know it, he will be 6’2″ and engaged to be married!

So cute to see Mazen playing. I enjoyed the jumping video – I love the careful attention he paid to determine which square to jump into!

Love the haircut! And your salad looks tasty!

He looks like such a little man in the haircut picture! I LOVE those jumping places – so much fun!
CATHY says
you have my last name….:)

I have the same tracks and agree – so complicated! I don’t have Dylan in a toddler bed yet but so curious how you do this – you just leave him in there playing and say, “ok go take a nap” and a bit later he actually does??! amazing!
KathEats says
We call it “Quiet Time” and he gets to play with whatever he wants in his room, but he usually gets sleepy and gets in his bed and sleeps for 2 hours! I have no idea how we got on this pattern, but it is quite amazing. I will say that half of the time he cries when I leave but after a few minutes he finds a toy and is OK.
Shayla says
That is amazing! So has he ever opened the door or do you have a lock/gate? My son is quite good at opening his door, so like I said in my last comment, I fear for the day we have to make the big boy bed transition! 😉
KathEats says
He hasnt figured it out…but I’m sure that’s coming soon!
Shayla says
Lucky! lol 😉
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties says
aww Mazen looks so grown up with that haircut! I’ve never been to one of those trampoline places but I’m sure they are so much fun! That’s awesome that you take him to activities like that 🙂

CHEESSSEEEEE!!!!
Too cute to be real! Oh my god!
CATHY says
Love this post. Mazen is adorable!!!

That airport gives me an anxiety attack. My son can’t put it together yet so he constantly brings it to me to put together and then gets if I don’t put it together exactly the way he wants it. It makes me happy to see Mazen playing with it so well. It gives me hope!
KathEats says
For the longest time I had to keep the box to use as a model. Then it fell apart so now it’s just a road!
Lindsey @ Simply Lindsey says
Mazen is too cute! I would have loved a jumping place like that when I was little! Looking at your pimento cheese is making me crave it! I might have to make some soon. 😀
Livi @ Eat, Pray, Work It Out says
I want a Jump day! That looks like a ton of fun!!
Jeanie says
His haircut is so cute. Why didn’t they have fun jumpy places when my kids were small? 🙁
Emily @ Life on Food says
When did he get so big? He is at your waist. What a little man!
Cara's Healthy Cravings says
I have been obsessed with baked oatmeal lately, I just can’t get enough.
I love re-heating a square and topping it with pb.
Blair @ The Seasoned Mom says
Such a fun day. We are DYING to try out the trampolines, too. With three young boys 5 and under, it sounds like the perfect activity for working out the wiggles!

Mmmm, I haven’t made baked oatmeal for awhile. I used to love making a batch with blueberries and coconut, then freezing individual squares for a quick and easy breakfast later. I love them to eat out of hand once thawed when I’m on the go, or else rewarmed in a bowl. Yum! Thanks for the reminder.
Cjump looks awesome! Wish we had something like that here in Maine. It’s been so cold the kids are going stir crazy. The closest thing we have is a bounce house park at a YMCA 45 mins away. They have 4 different obstacle course style bounce houses inside. It’s pretty good winter fun. And yes, quite a workout for mom!
JennieM says
Ok, I have to know…do you think twice about all of the foam pieces and how “germy” they are? We have one of these places by our house, much older and “seasoned”. I cringe on the inside, each and everytime my kids jump in those things. They usually shower and change their clothes when we come home – mainly to appease me. I know how sweaty my kids are, let alone the rest of the world jumping in there. It just gives me the heeby jeebies…
KathEats says
Well, we washed our hands well after the visit : ) Honestly I didn’t think that much about it. But now that you put that image in mind!!
Sara says
I love pimento cheese, but I get too carried away if it is in the house! Yummmm!
Kelly says
Umm, that is crazy awesome that Mazen takes a nap like that! What?! So, you just walk out of the room, and he knows that you’ve said it’s nap time? Do you shut his door? Crazy! I will hope for this!
KathEats says
Well half the time he puts up a fight, but he is pretty happy playing with his toys. I do mix up the toys and sometimes when he cries I bring out something he hasn’t seen in a while and then he’s totally content.
Anna says
Looks like so much fun! And he looks so dashing with his haircut 🙂
Eva says
he is such a delightful lil’ pip! i can just see him growing up into the most charming southern gentleman (after those wild big kid days of course!)
Becca says
This is a dear post. The trampolines look great! You’re doing a great job as a mom.
