We had a good feeling we’d be getting some spring snow, but I had no idea how much would actually fall by breakfast! I think we got a good 5-6″ – perfect for sledding and snowballs, or chewing Star Wars toys!
Fuel first. Irish Soda Bread, grapes, eggs.
Then we bundled up and headed out!
Hot chocolate break by the fire : )
School lunch on a no-school day!
I had a bunch of snacks for lunch: almonds, grapes, crackers, that hot chocolate, carrots, and hummus.
Then we geared up and again and headed outside for round II!
Cvillians, First Baptist has some great sledding!
If you’re brave, you can sled down Mount Doom. I did this once on my stomach a few years ago and literally had an ear packed with ice. So, I stayed at the top while Mazen bodysurfed down!
We spent the rest of the afternoon curled up on the couch and sipping hot tea. I was able to get a recipe post finished when Mazen headed over to Matt’s for a bit.
We had loads of fun, but I’m hoping this snow melts FAST!!

You may have answered this question before, so please forgive. We just rescued a yellow lab. She’s amazing, the sweetest dog in the world, but Oh. My. Doghair. It’s EVERYWHERE! We went from vacuuming twice a week to twice a day, and we still can’t keep up. What do you do with Gus’s hair? How does a neat freak handle it?
KathEats says
The struggle is real! I vacuum our main floor every other day or so with my cordless Dyson, so it doesn’t take too long. I find his hair goes through phases too – during changing seasons he sheds more and mid-summer and mid-winter are fairy tame, relatively speaking.

My gosh, did it truly snow that much?! That looks so wonderful. As a True Canadian I love the snow and I’m jealous because we didn’t get that much.

Fab pics! Glad you got a good snow. But I love it when it melts!

Hi Kath
Hope you don’t mind me saying but your food always looks like its charred. Maybe you prefer it this way. Eggs are usually fried low but for everything else I usually cook in the frying pan at medium. Are you frying med -high?
KathEats says
I usually set the heat right in the middle – I like my eggs with crispy edges!

Crazy! I can’t believe you got that much snow. Fun for Mazen 🙂 But I’m with you… I’d want it to melt fast! Spring weather please!

I have the same Anthropology cup. I liked them so much I bought my daughters one. Love reading your blog.
