I’m in a fantastic mood because I slept late 🙂
Late being 8:00!
I woke up at 6:00 and probably could have gotten up but I knew that would only be 7 hours so I put on my sleep mask and wished for 30 minutes more. 30 minutes –> 2 hours! I love it when you wake up and it’s later than you think 🙂
Came down and made a fabuloso SIAB!
The Vita-Mix
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/3 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1/2 fresh banana
- 1 cup plus a bit more milk
- 1 scant scoop Vega Almond
- Ice
- Galaxy Granola
- Kashi Cinnamon Harvest Crumbles
- Magic Shell Coconut Butter
Before I knew it, smoothie was leaking out of the chopstick holes in my Ramen bowl! It looked like the smoothie was attacked by a vampire!
It made quite the mess!
Totally stuffed with smoothie now and have a full day planned. Lots of NEAT exercise!
Let the packing begin!!!
Veggielady4life says
Looks like you planned it that way… kind of an art experiment gone awry… love it! Enjoy your day!
Freya @ Brit Chick Runs says
LOL at the leaky bowl!!
I love how your breakfast post always times in with when I have my lunch 🙂 it fits almost every day!
Have a great saturday 🙂
Samantha says
Love that NEAT! I’ve Ben looking into BMR stuff a lot lately…funny to see a link to it here from you. Have you ever figured out what your daily cal. burn is? Mine is much higher than I thought!
Kath says
I’ve done a Bod pod and metabolism test. Might seems right on track – BMR about 1300. No idea how much activity I do, but I know I probably walk at least a mile at the hospital!
Samantha says
Do you know what your body composition is? I’m still trying to decided what a healthy % of body fat is….the range is so big for “healthy”
Kath says
Like 21 or 22% BF? So long as you’re in the normal ranges – not to worry.
Lana says
Samantha, how do you figure this out?!!
Samantha says
If you google BMR you will get several different calculators. I’ve found that they all come in pretty close to each other. Then you multiply by how active you are.
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says
Have a great day! I consider it late when I sleep until eight too…sigh. Makes me feel like an old lady 🙂
Jo says
Lol it looks like you planned it that way. I was like oh is that a Twilight mug or something? How funny.
Nora@LifeLifeEatRight says
hahhaha I almost died when I read this post!!! ATTACK OF THE KILLER SMOOTHIE MONSTER!!! Have a great Saturday!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
Haha, smoothie vampire! I guess it was a delicious mess! Ugh, packing…I guess at the end of the packing is a great adventure for you two to look forward to! I guess that is motivation!
Camille says
Hahaha, vampire SIAB, I love it!
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
That second picture looks like the bowls crying. Awwwe! I love when it’s later than you think when waking up, too. Only up to a certain point, though..’cause after 9 or so I feel I’ve wasted the whole morning!
That smoothie looks very refreshing- great way to start the day! 🙂
Marisa (Loser for Life) says
Haha! Love the vampire bowl!
Yay for sleeping late! Sadly, I have no idea what that feels like since my kids get up with the birds:| I will live vicariously through you 😉
Ashley@thehungryscholar says
Funny post 🙂
Good luck packing!
Evan Thomas says
Good luck packing!
Lindsay @ Summit Sandwiches says
LOL on the smoothie leakage! It’s easy to forget details like that when you have a big yummy SIAB waiting to be consumed. I hope it wasn’t too much of a mess to clean up. Have a great Saturday!
maxinthegym says
Hahhaha vampire smoothie 😉
Have fun packing!
Robyn @ Frugal 'n' Fit! says
The ramen bowl makers should market it for it’s vampire-bite potential!
Lana says
NEAT – I tried to understand but wasn’t getting that much from the site.
Do you mean non-intentional exercise activity, such as cleaning, packing!, walking throughout your work day (ie throughout hospital from ward to ward), shoveling driveways, etc?
Kath says
Yup!
Lana says
ps – loved the smoothie article from yesterday and REALLY enjoyed Matt’s post! 🙂
lynn (The Actors Diet) says
jealous of your sleep but very happy for you! i got only 5 last night and have 12 hours of filming ahead of me….
Stacy (StacyGrowsHealthy) says
The smoothie looks great. I so need to get a VitaMix.
Laura says
I would LOVE seven hours sleep….I seem to average on around 4 hours no matter HOW hard i try and no matter what i try! glad you managed to get a long(er) lie!! That smoothie does look rather tasty! xx
Gavi @ GaviGetsGoing! says
I am also really loving the SIAB topped with cereal. It’s the perfect way to start off the day–refreshing, filling, totally delicious. I really enjoyed the article you linked to about NEAT exercise. Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your day! 🙂
Marilou @ Mostly Healthy says
Beautiful! I’m always looking for new Smoothie idea 🙂
Maybe the ramen bowl is not the best one for liquid? eheheh But with your vampire reference, you are SO 2010. 🙂
Wei-Wei says
THE SMOOTHIE BLEEEEEEEDS! DX It actually looks scarily like a vampire bite… o____O
Good luck with packing and have a wonderful Saturday 🙂

Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
The smoothie is appropriate given the new Twilight movie comes out soon! Hope you enjoy the workout!
Kellie says
It is a great picture with the colors from the bowl, smoothie and the table. It always looks like are. I liked the article about NEAT. My husband get frustrated because I can’t sit still even to watch a movie. Now I know that I am just getting some form of excercise when I am constantly up and down.
Kristina says
that bowl looks GREAT like that 🙂
…I love all of your bowls, I’ll say it again… and then whenever I say or think it I go visit your shop… *sigh* I’m in the buying mood, maybe I should go there now… 🙂
Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter says
haha that is too funny. I woke up SO late today. It helps that the room where I’m staying is so dark absolutely no light makes it in. It makes for a wonderful vacation though.
Erin says
That looks so refreshing for summer. I haven’t craved oats in WEEKS–it’s all about smoothies and cereal!
Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin says
Haha 8 am is late for me too. I can’t even remember the last time I slept in that late!
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
Looks like you can’t use that bowl when you have big smooties any more.
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
Perfect for smoothie blood since True Blood premiers tomorrow. 🙂
Sami says
Hahaha! That’s too funny. Have you tried Silk’s alomd milk? I just did a review on it and I really like it. I think it would be perfect for your sweet smoothies.
Amy @ Amy Starts To Run says
Hah, it does look like a vampire attack! Still looks delicious though. Have fun packing!
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) says
What an awesome smoothie combo! Too funny about the holes and leakage problem. 😀
Annie @ stronghealthyfit says
Colorful bfast! Good luck moving 🙂
Samantha says
In your schooling are you learning about the pH of our bodies? Do you know anything that you could share about why its bad to be acidic?
Kath says
Everything that I’ve learned about acids and bases in Nutritional Biochem implies that our built-in systems easily correct the problem. The lungs in the short term (changes in breathing make more or less carbonic acid) and the kidneys in the long term. But I have heard all about the alkaline foods and what not. I’m not really sure what I think about it. I think it’s one of those extreme things that the typical American diet that’s ALL animals and virtually ZERO plants might cause damage, but those of us who eat healthy 90% of the time aren’t going to have acidic bodies to the point of harm.
She-Fit says
Awh, I love sleeping in longer than I expected since I rarely can do that. Glad you got some much needed sleep. Happy Weekend 🙂
Jil @ Peace, Love & Munchies says
haha That’s awesome- I also love how the purple smoothie and green bowl complement each other.
Lisa says
I love when that happens, but I definitely sleep a lot less as I get older, and since I wake up around 5:30am every weekday.
That’s funny that the smoothie leaked out of the bowl. I guess it overfilled capacity!
Nicole, RD says
I love that you have a ramen bowl… 🙂 Happy packing!
Stacey@http://stacey-healthylife.blogspot.com/ says
I love the fruity saabs, they seem perfect for summer.
Hannah says
That is such a beautiful smoothie – vampirism aside, of course. Good luck with the packing – i’m in the process of moving out myself, so I feel your pain!
