Just some fun photos to capture the scene!! ^^Outfit choices.
On Friday I had lunch with my little man. Christian’s Pizza!
We hunted for dandelions on the way home and found this field just full of ’em!
On Friday night we went downtown to Lee Park for the Tom Tom Founders Festival, a huge Charlottesville tradition of music, culture, arts, speakers and more. I love this picture!!
These guys sponsored a lovely kids play station with sand tables, castles, a kitchen, nursing station and more. Us parents were so appreciative!!
Especially as we sipped our beers 🙂
M and I shared a Blue Ridge Pizza Co pizza for dinner. Pizza x2 on Friday!!
Bedtime stories:
Later that night I lit up my fire pit and had some friends over. It was the perfect weather for it!
On Saturday morning I had yoga plans since I was still pretty sore from Thursday, but when I found out Chris was doing a dance party at 9am, Struckmann and Erin convinced me to go!
‘Twas a blast, as usual. Both in calories and in fun.
Early lunch – leftover rice and beans and cheese and things!
After lunch Matt came to get Mazen, and I had the afternoon to myself. What to do? I read my book out on the patio for a bit. It’s hard for me to relax, and I spent an hour organizing things before settling down, but it was great once I got into it!
Then I went over to Lauren’s for some Mary Kay pampering! Sadie and I had a blast trying out the new spring line, and I loved having my make-up done for Saturday night fun!
I headed downtown for more Tom Tom Fest – music! This band was awesome.
I had dinner at Zocalo with all the usuals – wine, fritters, pepper – the best!
Sunday was all about soccer. I had games at 11 and 3 and went to watch a game in the middle. I couldn’t get enough sunscreen on my body! How did we go so quickly from long sleeves last weekend to needing SPF50 on this one!?
I had eggs, toast and mango for breakfast and then half a PB sandwich and a bunch of cheese and crackers for lunch. I needed all the salt and carbs to get me through 2.5 hours of running! Soccer leaves me exhausted from head to toe. I won our co-ed game and lost our women’s game. Drank TONS of water too!
After it all I took a shower with this Champion Shower Beer. How appropriate.
Sunday dinner was a bit lonesome. Just and me and my jar of pesto served in 3 ways: on fish, in rice and mixed in beans. Yum!
Our forecast looks amazing. I hope you are not reading this from one of those zones getting a foot of snow this weekend! I say, come and visit me!!

I said the same thing about the weather on my blog post this morning! I love the warm weather, so I’m trying to be careful not to complain. But it’s like we went from winter to summer. Where did spring go? Your weekend looked awesome!

We had our first ‘summer’ weekend with temps in the high 60s! Rare in Quebec. Everybody was outside enjoying the weather, cleaning our yard, running with the kids.
That festival looks like fun!

Sadly, I am reading from one of those places with a foot of snow on the ground (Colorado), but it’s already melting and this coming weekend looks great and back to the 70s!

Oh man, hang in there! Glad the forecast is promising!

That picture from Runaway Bunny made me so nostalgic. I haven’t read that book in ages (I don’t have kids yet), but I immediately knew what it was! It’s nice to see some things don’t change. 🙂

Great weekend post! I always look forward to reading what you’ve been up to. 🙂 Can we get some deets on your patio furniture? I am going to be in the market for some soon, and I know you probably did your research… 😉

I know you’ve been through trying times lately, but you really look fantastic. From the outside, it looks as though your recent life decisions have been good (? not sure if that’s the right word) for you. Thanks for sharing your new chapter!

Thank you. They have been 🙂

Sounds like a fun weekend! I also have a hard time just sitting down and reading a book, etc. (I always feel like there is something else more pressing that I need to be doing) but I do loooove reading, so I’m trying to make it more of a priority!

Oh very Interesting post! I am very versed in yoga. I just did a description of various yoga forms, what suits different types. You’ll find it on my blog. If you are interested, check it out 🙂

I’m in a bit of a food and fitness rut at the moment, and found this post really inspiring. How you manage to fit enjoyable exercise and fun foods in to your day is something I need to do more of. We recently got a small puppy, so she’s taking up a lot of my time at the moment, but I know I also need to carve out the time for myself to keep well and happy!
Years of restricting and bingeing make relaxing around food even harder, but I hope to overcome that ‘guilty’ feeling when eating something ‘bad’ over time and with help from my therapist. In the meantime, seeing you happy and healthy and enjoying double-pizza helps!

Best of luck to you! I’ve learned from experience that one (or two or three) meals do not un-do a week of eating well.

The weather has been amazing. I’m like you, hard to just relax. I hope you’re doing well.
