I like to eat food in bowls with a fork.
I like salads.
I like varying flavors [sweet + savory] and textures [soft + crunchy}
I also like chocolate and buttercream, but sadly this lunch did not contain them.
It did contain green leaf lettuce, aged balsamic, a carrot, half a bell pepper, an egg muffin, leftover roasted sweet potato and Cville Crunch bread.
Stellar. I liked it!
The grand porch looks so pretty under the blue skies today.
All of the main parts [new door, fixtures, carpentry] are done – we are waiting on the painting + staining to wrap up. Can’t wait to move in next spring!
Working on a number of Great Harvest things. I have turned into the official graphic designer and professional photographer for the bakery. On the photo side, some other bakeries have requested to use my product photos – which is cool! But on the graphic design sign…eek!

I absolutely LOVE your porch–esp. the skylights, ceiling, beadboard, sliding door(s), and wide steps, perfect to hang out on. It’s almost like having a little cottage on the back of your house. You could even sleep out there some warm summer night!

Did you realize when you bought your camera and stepped up your photography skills how useful it would be at the bakery? It’s so awesome that you can do that aspect yourself!

Lisa (bakebikeblog) says
Kath- the porch is gorgeous!!! You musty be so pleased with how it turned out 🙂
Hannah @ eat, drink, and save money says
Was it hard for you to start work on your porch? We have an older house as well and have been told by a few people that additions to older houses can sometimes be difficult- bringing certain things up to code maybe? Anyway, we want to add a front porch and I don’t even know where to start!
KathEats says
No, I think since it was just carpentry and not plumbing or HVAC that it wasn’t too bad
lynn @ the actor's diet says

Oh this SHE likes it too. I also like salads with fruits and veggies (sweet and savoury) AND (in case you were donering) I like eating soups and dessert with a teaspoon so that they last even longer. And I also like eating cereal out of a mug. Just cause.
Happy Friday!

I have a harder time with salads in the winter. They aren’t as comforting as I want them to be when its cold outside. Yours does look delicious though!

I love salads with all different textures, so much more enjoyable!

I love graphic design, it’s one of those activities that makes the time fly by and all of a sudden I realize I’ve been working for six hours.
But whatever you do, please, please, please stay away from Comic Sans. It may be the worst font in the history of all fonts. Well, Papyrus is pretty bad too. Stick with a nice sans serif, something like Arial.
KathEats says
We have the Great Harvest fonts to use 🙂
Ellie@fitforthesoul says
I never thought I’d say this but…Graphic design looks really fun! After getting into blogging and photographing, I’ve been more open to computer design-related stuff 🙂

I love salads, but I tire of them quickly. Don’t you ever get tired of eating them? And want something more substantial?
KathEats says
Never! Because I always have different toppings. From dips to meats to fruits to cheeses, I’m always changing it up – esp. by the season
Sarah@The Flying ONION says
Your salads are always so playful and fun. I especially like the egg muffin addition. 😀
And I couldn’t agree with you more about the chocolate and buttercream. 😀

Hi! I’m building a screen porch and want a sliding screen door…found yours on Pinterest! Having trouble getting my contractor to do this elegantly. If you dont mind me asking, how are they hung? With sliding screen door tracks at top and bottom? At bottom woudl be a tripping hazzard unless countersunk, but I’m also worried about how it will look. THANKS
KathEats says
Here is a post with a lot more photos – hopefully you can see. The doors are on a track that is hung above the frame. https://www.katheats.com/kerf-favorites/home-neat-home/cottage-kerf/the-porch
