You know how so many of you leave comments that you just ate breakfast but after looking at blog photos you want to eat all over again? I’m totally having that this morning with my own bowl of oatmeal 🙂 I got sidetracked between eating and blogging and even though this was a HUGE filling bowl, I want to eat another!
This was one awesome bowl of whipped banana oats with strawberries and cottage cheese stirred in at the end. Topped with sunbutter (nearing the end of the jar!), salty p-nuts and coconut!
Super voluminous today too!
Have a wonderful Tuesday! I love Tuesdays now because I look forward to my prenatal yoga class (and also like that since I’m doing an evening workout I can get up and shower right away!)
Allie@LiveLaughEat says
I love how you shower before your workout. I only shower IF (and when!) I workout :).
KathEats says
It depends on how much time will be going by between shower + workout! If there’s a large chunk, a shower is always worth it.
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
I had a breakfast burrito I made for breakfast – so maybe I will make oats for lunch! Haha getting crazy!
Claire @ Live and Love to Eat says
Quite a combination in your oats this morning! Enjoy yoga! 🙂
Cait's Plate says
We had similar breakfasts this morning – I made a big bowl of strawberry oats – but I wish I had thought to add some peanuts to mine! I went with granola and now I’m (once again, even despite similar breakfasts) having breakfast envy!
KhushbOo says
U just described my breakfast sentiments every morning: I want to eat it all over again!
Sam @ The Second Lunch says
Generally, that is my sentiment for every meal!
Liz says
Looks yummi!. I don’t blame you to want another bowl. Im considering having breakfast only after checking your blog.
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
I do that ALL the time. I finished a carrot cake smoothie this morning and actually pouted a little when it was all gone.
The Mrs @ Success Along the Weigh says
Guilty! I usually wait to see if you give me some add in ideas but I finished mine 30 minutes ago and you guessed it, this makes me want more!
kristen @ verbs and vignettes says
it does look like an awesome bowl of oats. when I make them super “voluminous” though, I usually don’t snack for a long time.
I can’t wait until strawberry season!! I miss them bad.
Lynn @ the actor's diet says
Haven’t had Bfast yet but now I do!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
love your photos this morning!! looking at photos of food always makes me “hungry” again, even if i just ate!
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
Your breakfast does look very fluffy today! I love that. I would think that it would keep you fuller for a longer period of time. Happy Tuesday! 🙂
Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning says
I could definitely go for a second breakfast right now… I definitely burned right through mine with my workout this morning! Looking at your oatmeal is torture!
Have a great yoga class. 🙂
Jasper Naomi @ crunchylittlebites says
It’s funny, this morning I ate cereal yogurt fruit and milk in front of the fireplace. Afterward my mouth said “I’d like another one just like that” but my mind said “No, thank you, I’m satisfied”
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
2nd breakfast is where it’s at!! Have fun at your yoga class today, and do some extra stretches for me – legs are feeling extra stiff this morning! 😉
Averie @ Averie Cooks says
Sometimes two breakfasts are better than one, especially when you’re growing a human inside you! 🙂
mary @ minutespermile says
I always have a cup of tea after breakfast- helps finish off the meal and tells my stomach “no more till lunch time!”
Amanda @ Dogs, Chocolate and Fruits & Veggies says
Thanks so much for sharing the idea about cottage cheese to oatmeal. I have done it twice this week, and I love it! I think I am developing an intolerance to certain nuts, so this is a great way to add some protein to my breakfast! I add a boatload of cinnamon to my oatmeal which gives it a really nice kick!
Kellie says
When I was pregnant I was so hungry during my 2nd trimester that I would eat two breakfasts. I remember feeling like I couldn’t eat enough. Must be the baby’s growth spurt time.
Anne Weber-Falk says
That is a beautiful mug.
Lindsay @ Running the Windy City says
Strawberries + cottage cheese + oatmeal is always a winner. I also like to mix it up and use part oats and part grains (couscous or quinoa). The texture is amazing!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
Now you know that’s a good bowl when you make yourself hungry again after posting about it! Have a great day Kath!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
one bowl of oatmeal for you, one for baby! enjoy yoga 🙂
barb says
Just out of curiosity, how many calories do you think you average per day? You probably don’t count them, but i’m interested.
KathEats says
I really don’t know…and I think my intake has definitely gone up with pregnancy. Probably about 2,000
Sarah says
I thought you aimed for 2,000 pre-pregnancy?
KathEats says
That’s what I mean. And I don’t aim for anything – that’s just what I would estimate. I’m sure it’s a bit more now.
Angel7 says
Your right… I usually always get inspired to make what you are having to eat 🙂

Your breakfasts are always so photogenic and look so delicious! All they make me want to do is come over to your house so you can make me one…that mosaic is beautiful with the strawberries in the oats. Btw, congrats on your pregnancy and I hope you enjoy prenatal yoga tonight! I love reading BabyKERF!
jojo says
I tried your overnight oats recipe and realized the same thing!
I loved how it looked, tasted, and I was ready for another bowl! 🙂
Christine (The Raw Project) says
The oatmeal sounds fabulous! Jealous that you can get morning workouts in, I get tired of evening workouts after a long workday. 😛
Susan H. @ The Food Allergy Chronicles says
I like to savour every mouthful of my breakfast concoctions to make it seem like there is more…I finish with a tea also…helps to cleanse my palate and stop my breakfast cravings!
Liz @ Tip Top Shape says
Everytime I see your oatmeal I think to myself that I need to try some cottage cheese in mine. I think I’ve asked you this — but can you taste it?? I can almost imagine it making the oats cheesecake-ey tasting or something!
KathEats says
That’s exactly what it tastes like 🙂
Andrea says
Cottage cheese in oats is AWESOME! Seriously, even if you don’t like cottage cheese plain (I’m not a big fan of it), in oats is really good. Try it 🙂
Kim says
agree with this. I do not like cottage cheese on its own but I totally enjoy it in oats.
KathEats says
Honestly I don’t love it plain either!
Ellie@Fit for the Soul says
I actually love sweating everything out AFTER I shower! haha, I know that sounds nasty 😛 And tooootally…..whenever I see delicious foods on blogs, my “mind” wants more.
christine @ oatmeal bowl says
i have some Sunland chocoalte creamy pb that would work great with this bowl of whipped banana oats. yes, i am now craving another bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. 😉
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
I have a gallon of fresh strawberries that I now know how to put to good use!
Patricia says
Hi Kath,
I have a question for you: when you make stovetop oatmeal for one (or would it be one and a quarter now that bebe is here?) how much oatmeal/milk/water do you use? And do the chia seeds contribute to the overall “volume” of the resulting bowl?
We are in CT, and are anxiously awaiting the warmer weather so we can start having overnight oats, which we discovered thanks to you! Somehow, the thought of it is not appealing until the temperature starts to rise. For now, I’m still slaving away over a hot stove. 🙂
KathEats says
The recipe I use almost every time is here on the Tribute To Oatmeal page: https://www.katheats.com/kaths-tribute-to-oatmeal
I think the key to real volume is stirring more bulky things in. The strawberries add a ton and the cottage cheese does too. Pumpkin is the ultimate volume adder!
Patricia says
Do you add the cottage cheese in while it’s still on the stove? I’m not sure if the aim is to actually “cook” it or just stir it in at the end… I read once where you compared the strawberry & cottage cheese oats to a strawberry cheesecake taste, and that sounds mighty good!
I think I would loooove the pumpkin, but the husband…not so sure. What is it with guys resisting pumpkin? 😉
KathEats says
Yes, in the last minute of cooking. Basically when the liquid is absorbed and then I stir it in and once I decide that it’s hot, I cut the heat and pour in a bowl.
Fran@ Broken Cookies Don't Count says
You can’t beat a big bowl of oats!
Heather @ Get Healthy with Heather says
Love all the volume in that bowl!! Enjoy your prenatal yoga class, sounds amazing Kath.
Dudette says
Haha, this happens more and more with me, looking at blog photos all I want to do it eat more 🙂
Chloe says
This makes me want a SECOND, second breakfast lol 😉 I already had oats post-run, now I want some more! Gotta love two breakfasts!
