Breakfast wasn’t as simple this morning – Kanz made us pancakes! From our delicious Great Harvest mix. And topped with some of this new Virginia hickory syrup we’re selling at the bakery.
The syrup was delicious, but like all syrups, it disappeared into my cakes and I forgot about it! Sunflower butter, however, doesn’t disappear. But my peach did – into my mouth!
Coffee! I haven’t had much real coffee while pregnant just because I don’t make it at home, but it’s too hard to resist with a big pot of Shenandoah Joe’s here. I’m having half cups, and really don’t take issue with a little bit of caffeine at all.
Just got a request for some yoga from Matt A. so that might be next on the agenda. Weather = so far, so good!

I love the idea of putting nut butter on pancakes, much more substantial than sugary syrup!

The disappearing syrup is why I usually dress my pancakes in jam or jelly

Your coffee is always a vision! Haha, even when I make a latte it doesn’t take a picture looking that thick. I must know your tricks! 😉

Sunflower butter and that syrup sound perfect! My dear friends and first yoga teachers live in Wilmington! I walked into their yoga classes 12+ years ago and knew right then I had to get certified. I hope you have a great time at yoga class (or rock out some at-home podcasts or something similar).

Oh, I still love good old fashioned pure maple syrup…but the nut butters do sound tempting!
Molly @ RDexposed says
That’s my pet peeve with syrup! I’d rather add something else.
Enjoy your half cups of coffee!

Pancakes look yummy!!

Trick to keeping the syrup from disappearing – put the nut butter on first, then drizzle in syrup. It swirls with the nut butter and oh my goodness I’m going to have to make pancakes for dinner now.

Have fun at the beach, Kath! you look so cute with your sweet belly! XOXO

breakfast looked great!

I’ve always been a HUGE fan of syrup and I’ve learned that if I put the syrup on the side and dip each bite into the syrup I get the full flavor and it doesn’t soak into my pancakes making we want to add more! I save a lot of calories this way too! lol
Lexi @ You, Me, & A World to See says
Peaches have this strange habit of disappearing around me as well 😉

Even though I am not that much of a coffee drinker, it is hard to pass up a good cup of coffee, even while pregnant.

I always have syrup on the side now and dip each bite, you can taste it much more and its always fun to dip.
Speaking of dipping, a new restaurant opened up down the road from us and the kids menu had a peanut butter sandwich cut up into small squares that you dip into the jelly. I had never thought of that, but my kids LOVE it and only each their pbjs this way now. Dipping is always more fun.
