I spent a few hours this morning updating my blogroll!!
To be honest, the only reason I have a blogroll is because when I took the one I started in 2007 down a lot of people requested it back! I had no idea you guys used it. A reader let me know this week that it was drastically outdated, so I went through to clean it up a bit. I can’t believe how many blogs were on there that had not updated since 2009 or even early 2008!! Oops! It’s all fresh and new now. [My sister wasn’t even on it!!]
My blogroll has always just been a collection of both blogs I read and those of people who have requested to be on it, so if you do want me to add you [I really hope I’m not jumping in over my head here…] send me an email to Katheats at Gmail dot come with your blog has a hyperlink like this: Kath Eats Real Food. Please use the subject: Blogroll. If it’s not easy for me to copy and paste then I’m not adding you! Also, you must have updated your blog in the past week to make the cut : )
After all the rolling, I went to BodyPump! Bike there, pumped it up (my 45 minute express class) and biked on home. I haven’t been to BP since before Montana!
Lunch was awesome:
Salad with a ton of exciting things
- Spinach
- Olive oil + Cherry Balsamic
- Rosemary salt
- Broccoli, carrot, green pepper, celery
- Pinto beans
- Avocado
- Pecans
- Nutritional yeast
- Ground flax
Served with a Siggi’s Orange Ginger that was on sale last week (or the last!?)
When cleaning up the guest room this morning I realized I had a whole hat box of linens I had forgotten about from my grandmother – plus this tea towel set Tina brought me when she and Mal came to visit 2 years ago!
Emily @ One Sweet Vegan says
Adorable tea towel. I just added a blogroll the other day. I enjoy seeing which blogs other people follow. Heading over to your blogroll right now!
Eliz@The Sweet Life says
I was just checking it out last week, too, so am so glad you updated it!!!
Freya (Brit Chick Runs) says
I was wondering when you’d update your blogroll 🙂
That sounds like a great lunch combo, and a decent sized portion too – right up my street 😀
Jen @ keepitsimplefoods.com says
Gorgeous tea towel. I love home made stuff like that. Just lovely. I really need to try Siggi’s stat.
Ooh ooh! I wanna be on the blogroll!
Jasmine @ Eat Move Write says
That towel set is absolutely beautiful! I’ve yet to have Siggis. I really want to try it out. I’m hoping they’ll have it in the grocery stores when we move. We’re moving to Portland next month.
I commend you for having a blogroll at all. That’s a major pain I haven’t yet tackled on my own blog yet!
Gina says
I tried that same Siggi’s flavor a few days ago. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a big fan of it. I’ll probably try another flavor though.
I like looking at other people’s blog rolls because it’s how I always find new ones to read!
Valerie @ City|Life|Eats says
I love the tea towels. The salad looks awesome too 🙂
Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) says
My grandma used to embroider towels, pillowcases, and so many tablecloths and things like that. I love seeing these pics of yours!
What an undertaking it is keeping your blogroll, recipe tabs, etc. all up to date. I have tried to keep mine up to date but time and links can get away from me in a hurry 🙂
I would be honored to be on your blogroll and emailed you.
Meri says
I want that spoon. I’m a spoon freak and won’t let my boyfriend get rid of our long handled pretty sundae spoons his grandma gave him- he hates them but I use them every single day. Sorry for the bombardment of spoon nerdery- what kind of spoon is that though?
KathEats says
It’s a condiment spoon from C&B
Stacy @ Every Little Thing says
I am dying for more Siggi’s. I can’t believe they were on sale last week for so cheap (2 for $3)!! Have you had Wallaby? It’s organic yogurt and delicious, and a great price!
Stacy @ Every Little Thing says
OH and I have you listed under inspirational blogs in the My Healthy Life section on my blog 🙂
KathEats says
I have had it before – it’s a little too runny for me
Courtney @ The Granola Chronicles says
I love that tea towel. It’s absolutely darling!
Lindsey @ Enjoying Healthy Foods says
What a delicious looking salad! Full of goodness!!! 🙂
Melissa @ HerGreenLife says
I often overlook beans as something to add to a salad, but when I do remember, they always taste delicious, not to mention adding a great protein and fiber boost! We’re also trying to do more with nutritional yeast, and I like the simplicity of just sprinkling it on.
Estela @ Weekly Bite says
What a gorgeous salad!! Enjoy the rest of your day 🙂
MonsteRawr says
Oy, thanks for reminding me that my blogroll is also embarrassingly out of date. Guess what I’ll be doing this afternoon…
(The answer is updating my blogroll. Then skiing. But first updating my blogroll.)
Hope says
That is an amazing looking salad! That tea towel is so cute!! 🙂
Holly @ Couch Potato Athlete says
The orange spoon looks like it should come with the yogurt — perfect size and color!
hippierunner says
Such a sweet tea towel!
Mara @ What's for Dinner? says
Thanks for adding me 🙂 I got some wicked traffic today from your blogroll!
Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn says
I have been on a GIANT salad kick lately. It’s so fun to figure out different ways to dress them up! I tried coconut recently with balsamic and walnuts and it was so. good.
I e-mailed you, I would be honored to be on your blogroll! 🙂
Annette says
I would love my blog to be on it- I will send you a link 🙂

Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
Cute towel. I need to update my blogroll too. Cleaning up the blog takes a lot of time. I need to do it though. Have a great afternoon Kath!
Stacey (The Home-Cooked Vegan) says
Aw 🙂 I love those tea towels, such a cute message! Glad you had a great body pump class, I’ve been to that class at the YMCA and it was tough! Definitely left me shaking 😉
Jess (Sweet Potato) says
Wow, you are able to eat lunch outside! How wonderful!
Erin (Travel Eat Repeat) says
That tea towel is so cute! I want to start collecting cute linens to use as photo backdrops and also just to jazz up my boring apartment.

Jen says

Larbs says
I just assumed I wasn’t on it because I don’t eat enough vegetables!
Sarah R says
Hahaha! Love this!
KathEats says
Ha!!
Lauren at KeepItSweet says
I have a feeling you are going to get a ton of blogroll addition requests:-)
Sarah R says
Ok, can I just give my 2 cents on the whole blog roll thing? If I’m looking at a blog roll it’s because I want to know what blogs that person reads. I think that requesting to be put on a blog roll is kind of silly. I would rather just know whose blog interests you vs. who emailed you requesting to be on your list. Seems too much like a popularity contest or something… everyone want’s their blog listed on the popular blogs. Why not be a bit more selective?
KathEats says
Well different people do blogrolls different ways. Some just do a small number that they love and read, others do a long list. I’ve never wanted to exclude people, so I’ve kept a long list. I don’t want to single out just a few! I figured a long list would be a good place to go to click on a lot of blogs at once, especially if you’re looking for more to read.
Baking 'n' Books says
I love that response. Not to mention that these are people that are taking the time to read you (or any of the “big” blogs in general). And really that in itself is special or nice to “give back to”…? I don’t know 😉
kat says
I agree with Sarah R as far as being selective goes- when I look at someone’s blogroll I think of it as an endorsement. By adding a blog to your blogroll you are saying that you agree with/like the content and think your readers would enjoy it.
Not that it’s not very generous of you to add the blogs! Just sayin’…
jen @ taste life says
Love the tea towel! I do like reading other people’s blogrolls since I might find one I didn’t know about, and that’s fun.
Christine (The Raw Project) says
Thanks for the blogroll opportunity, I need to update mine as well. Lunch looks wonderful, great salad toppings. And the linens are gorgeous.
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says
I love finding unexpected linens or dishes that I’ve forgotten about!
You know, I used to read blog rolls alot, but then when I started clicking through them, I found what you were talking about– half of them didn’t even exist anymore! Now, I just stick with the blogs I know I love, or find new blogs by clicking through comment sections.
Alaina says
What a beautiful tea towel!
I would love to be added to the blog roll. 🙂 I’ll send you an e-mail.
Natalie @ Will Jog For Food says

Your salads always look SO good! I think I’m gonna need to prepare stuff on the weekends so I can put something great together on the fly.
karin says
Hi Kath! I’ve been following your blog for over a year and have commented before. I just started with Advocare and their products are a major passion of mine. I was wondering if you would sample some all natural products if I sent you some? The products are for weight loss, increased energy and focus and enhanced sports performance. I use them and they truly are amazing! We could do a giveaway too if you thought that was a good idea. Anyway, thanks so much for your time! -Karin

I like Siggi’s a lot… but lately I’ve been almost wishing it had 2% fat or something! I know that is kind of the opposite of what skyr is, but I kind of wish it were a bit richer…

I love Siggi’s but haven’t tried the Orange and gingaaaaa yet. It sounds delicious. Do you use a plug-in on wordpress to update your blog roll?
KathEats says
I do it manually!! Is there a plugin!?
Amanda says
There are a few but for the life of me I cannot figure them out. Too buggy. If I find a good one, I’ll let you know!
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
It’d definitely be hard to keep up with as many blogs as you had on your original one as fast as people come and go from the blog world. Glad you were able to clean it up! 🙂

I still get about 10 hits or so a day on my site from being on your blogroll. Today (well, Feburary 3) I got about 115, for no other reason than you called out your blogroll. In the immortal words of Mr. Spock: fascinating.
