‘Twas an unseasonably balmy winter night when all through the house
the Christmas decor was unpacked; watch out for an attic mouse!
The three year old was hungry, setting was the sun;
What should we cook for dinner that’s special and fun?
“Ah ha!” said the mommy, I know just the dish –
Blue Apron sent us our Christmas dinner wish!
And so the family prepared dinner together – Seared Cod & Garlic-Ginger Rice sent from Blue Apron‘s special North Pole headquarters.
This dish was FAN-tastic!!! I loved the fish – I’ve never used rice flour before, and the Ponzu sauce on the broccoli was really, really good.
With Blue Apron you can sign up to have all of your fresh ingredients to be delivered right to your doorstop – always with free shipping – and gourmet recipes ready to make a date night or a dinner party a huge success. This one was certainly restaurant worthy!
As always, I have a nice offer to share with you. If you’ve been itching to try Blue Apron or want to give the gift of food to friends or family, here you go!
The first 50 readers will get two free meals on their first Blue Apron order!
We had such a fun night stringing lights and hanging ornaments. Although surprisingly Mazen wasn’t too into the ornaments!
Here are some photos of our decor in the sunlight the next day!
Happy Christmas!
Thanks to Blue Apron for sponsoring their post and their continued support of KERF : )

Lovely post, as usual. I can’t believe I am the first person to ask this– Does your shirt say “Everyday I’m brussellin’? (I have no idea how to spell that as a verb!) LOVE IT! Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family.

Your house looks wonderful! May I ask where you got that gorgeous print above the fireplace?
KathEats says
Homegoods!
Sarah says
Only two stockings?
KathEats says
Why not just two? We grownups don’t need them : )
KathEats says
Annndddd…just because everyone probably thinks the other is for a new baby, gotta have a symmetrical fireplace!

Haha, I thought both the stockings were probably for Mazen (probably because my three year old would definitely try to sweet talk me into that…)! I agree that it would look odd with just one stocking 🙂
Stacey says
Grown ups still need stockings! It’s part of the fun of Christmas. 🙂

I’m always curious about seasonal decor! Do you just buy seasonal shams for your current pillows or new pillows entirely? And then store them during the year? I’m not the best decorator and just stick to some streamers or banners we can hide away in a small storage bin as the holidays change. 🙂
KathEats says
The red and green pillows and the joy one I bought at Target, so they covers don’t come off. The striped pillows are from our downstairs couch, so I just swapped them with our coral summery ones. I do store the three Xmas pillows in the attic.

I disagree on grown ups not needing stockings, they’re my favorite. I am the one that stuffs them though so it’s all my favorites lol. Where did you get the tags for the stockings?
KathEats says
They came with them!

Love the stockings! Where did you find them?

I love all of your decorations! I really did love working PT at HomeGoods holiday season 2013 as I waited to take my RD exam. They have such cute things!
I bough Matt and I each an, “Everyday I’m Brusslin'” tee for a fun Christmas gift. I love it, and I can’t wait to give it to him and then wear mine soon. 😉 Lovely post!

Maybe you could use this post to talk about how you give back to the community. (Okay, you don’t have to post this, I was just being funny. :D) I love reading the comments to see what random things people are going to say sometimes. Your house looks beautiful, and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, two stockings and all!

Here’s an awesome tip: if you peel and freeze knobs of ginger, it’s SO much easier to grate!

Good one! Less will be wasted too 🙂
