I’m so glad that (from what I’ve read) Jamie Oliver is receiving so much support in the States – he totally changed schools here, so it’s good he’s being given a chance 🙂
Have a good afternoon!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) says
Love muffins on my oats! YUM! I guess it was a good think you could not taste the hemp milk…nobody wants to taste stink hemp nuts! I agree with the Spring statement…it is absolutely beautiful! Enjoy your Sunday!
Jenn (www.j3nn.net) says
It’s cold and rainy here in NY, muffin oats sounds wonderful!! 😀
Can’t wait to see the shrimp + grits, YUM!

I’m so sad Food Revolution is over! I want them to make a season 2 😀
Muffin oats are so under-rated!
Jil @ Peace, Love & Munchies says
I agree – I absolutely adore Jamie … I just wish people would see the crap they are consuming!! I mean…that’s not to say I eat fabulously 100% of the time…far from the truth…but I love what he’s doing. People need to realize that they need to take control of what they put in their bodies!! I especially love his want to change school lunches.
Those oats look absolutely amazing.
Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope says
I’ve been missing those muffin oats! Looks amazing! Have a wonderful Sunday!

I have always loved Jamie Oliver.
I remember when he was the “naked chef” I loved the way he cooked. He was the first chef I saw cooking in a real kitchen with an herb garden and everything. Not like the other food network chefs in their staged kitchens.
I was so sad the day the I finally saw his soon to be wife Jules. I thought I was going to marry Jamie!! I guess Jamie didn’t know he was supposed to marry me 🙂
He was was cooking with whole fresh foods before anyone was. Swooon! I am glad he is back in the spotlight and for such a great reason too.
Angie says
Wow, you are on it today!! What a full and fun schedule!
Those muffin oats look amazing! I love your banana oats in general- thanks for introducing them to us. I introduced them to a group of girls at a fitness retreat this weekend and the girls loved them!
Mara @ What's for Dinner? says
Enjoy your shrimp and grits tonight! I just made some last week and they were amazing!
Coco @ Opera Girl Cooks says
You’ve inspired me to make a batch of muffins myself so I’ll have the makings for muffin oats this week!
Sara @ myfancytuna.blogspot.com says
I’m addicted to Jamie Oliver’s show! I’ve watched three episodes this weekend! I’m glad swimming is going well for you – mixing it up with different equipment, a new suit and new goggles can make all the difference! Also, shrimp and grits are amazing…I made them for my roommate the other week and we were amazed by how delicious it was 🙂
Amber K says
I have never thought to have a muffin on my oatmeal, what a neat idea!
I love Jamie Oliver’s Food Revoultion! it is crazy how much opposition he has faced.

Mmm – muffin oats! Those look delicious. I just bought muffins this weekend so I may have to make some muffin oats of my own!
I’m SO addicted to Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. I think it’s SO interesting to see everyone’s different reactions in town (some people embrace it, some people hate it) – but I DEFINITELY agree with what he’s doing and am SO on board!
Camille says
I’m so jealous of your beautiful spring!
I love that you get colors out in your part of the country… there aren’t many colors in Southern California.
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) says
I love, love, love muffins on oats! Especially pumpkin. Yum. 😀
I’ve been keeping up with Food Revolution too, and love it. I think he’s got his work cut out for him, but it’s inspiring to see that the smart changes *can* be made and schools *can* be improved…it just takes a little effort. 😀
Kelly B (at Local Foodie Fight) says
thats a heck of a to do list! good luck with it all!
Lisa says

I’m loving Food Revolution, too, and have been watching it on Sundays since I work on Friday nights. I really think that things are going to change for the better, food-wise, in this country and people like Jamie Olliver and Michael Pollan are leaders in that change. Hooray for REAL food!
Simply Life says
Oh that muffin addition looks so good!
Rochelle @ Princess Hotcakes says
I couldn’t agree more. We were driving through North Portland yesterday and I was in awe of the transformation Spring has brought on! Totally breathtaking!!
Glad you had a tasty breakfast as your schedule today is inspiring… I’ve got a pen and paper out identifying what I’d like to accomplish today!! 🙂

Hannah says
I finally finally tried the chia in oats last night (though oat bran, not whole oats) and yay! You’re so right, it makes it so much more pudding like and delicious! Course, all I had was chai-flavoured soymilk and some cacao nibs to go on top, but one day I’ll get to doing the banana and all your other fun toppings too 🙂

Hi Kath,
I wanted to share with you an interesting article about Jamie Oliver’s show: http://www.indypendent.org/2010/04/21/sugar-coated/. I too enjoy Jamie’s show but found that the article offered a really interesting perspective on the show.
Kath says
Interesting article! These are some of the same issues that matt and i discussed yesterday. Having just spend 5 weeks in school foodservice, I’m well aware of the cost of real food. My proposal for 100% beef patties and whole wheat buns *alone* added $150,000 to the annual budget. While I do think there are trade-offs (like less meat in general and more cheapo beans!) I think it’s a much bigger problem than Jamie makes it out to be. There are many hoops to jump through too. It will take a USDA revolution and probably take 20 years (or more) to really change school foodservice. THanks for sharing!
