So fun to wake up to a clean house!! Looks like our manual labor has come to a close, but we have plenty of tinkering labor to keep us busy. And a few trips out to stores. And a beer date!
Whaddya do when you don’t have cooking spray? Use the good stuff.
Chia + Banana + Almond Butter flavored pancakes!
Yesterday I got this message in the comments about the Bears:
The Bears like the looks of the new house, but they are refusing to come unless they have their own room, their own TV and computers, and a trampoline. They said a chair in the corner was not enough reason to leave Grammy’s. I told them they were acting like very spoiled bears to be so demanding, sweet as they are.
Well let them know there are other bears waiting to take their place!
Topped with Biscoff, Oikos, banana and some more of that almond butter
We shared this guy 🙂
Coupla iced coffees to drink!
We are having some mega internet issues at this new house. It’s making me grit my teeth!
I’d rather be gritting my teeth on Buckwheat Granola…which I now have the ingredients to make!
Janna (Janna's Keeping it Real) says
Flight of pancakes?!?! Can I take the bears place and come live there?!?
af @ .the food. says

That comment is ridiculous! Haha! Your pancake pics are making me want some. I love the way you ended this post. I just actually love all of this post. It made me smile! 🙂
Holly @ couchpotatoathlete says
Those bears are too much!!! Houseguests should not make demands like that — wait, housebears? I’d cave and give in to their demands though, they are just too cute!
I love banana slices in my pancakes too — they just add a nice creamy sweetness.
I’m loving your new place!
Heather says
love the bear comment, too cute!
Mom says
The bears are a little worried, so they said yes, they will come back. Bocker is worried you are going to enroll him in UVA, and he doesn’t know his times tables yet. I told him, no, you would find a suitable school just right for a young bear.
Amelia says
Internet issues drive me crazy! I had problems with my connection the other day (T-mobile was doing maintenance at 8:30 am on a Tuesday!). It didn’t end up getting resolved until late afternoon, so I had to hit up B & N as well as Earth Fare for internet. Blah. At least it has only happened once in the past year…knock on wood!
Marty says
I made the buckwheat granola and it was good. I put it into a flatter pan so it would not take three hours in the oven (too much in the summer!). I also substituted dried cranberries and apricots for the currants. My recommendation is to up the amount of fruit in the granola significantly. I also cut the oil in half and used water in place of it. Granola still came out crunchy and nicely browned. Enjoy it, the recipe makes a lot.
Kate Z. says
I love iced coffee in the summer too, but hate how diluted hot coffee gets when poured over ice. Solution? Make your coffee the day/night before, then put it in a Ball jar after it’s cool and stick it in the fridge. In the AM, pull it out, ice it and enjoy! The finishing touch? A splash of vanilla extract. Yum!
Pat Kilmain says
My mom loved iced coffee, and hated when it got diluted, so she made coffee ice cubes! Yup, just froze coffee in the ice cube trays. 🙂
Mary @ Bites and Bliss says
Uh oh, better listen to their demands! We need to see them back soon! 😀 Love that Mickey Mouse pancake 😉
Jen says
That bear pancake is just too cute! Love it!
Lea @ Healthy Coconut says
Is it a bear pancake? I call it mickey mouse pancake 🙂 My fiance likes making pancakes on the weekends and he makes mickey mouse shape pancakes. I need to get some Kodiak products, sadly it’s not being sold nearby. Can you only purchase it online?
Your house looks adorable, very warm, clean and organized and welcoming.
Jasmine @ Eat Move Write says
Nice. I really love pancakes. I might have to make them this weekend, actually. I have a quaker oatmeal pancake mix that’s been in my cabinet forever now.

Breakfast looks delicious on your cute little porch:) What type of internet issues? I feel your pain because all we have access to at our house is satelite (which we have) or dial up.
Cynthia (It All Changes) says
Shaped pancakes are so fun when my cousins come to visit. Since the first time I made them they refuse to eat the round ones.
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
Good luck on the internet issues! They are a freaking pain.

Wow those pancakes look good – I’m never brave enough to actually put anything in the batter…just always wait and “top” them. I may have to change this now.
by the way – I think you made every woman on the internet want her own Queen Room with your previous post! 🙂
Sarah for Real says
I went to my local Great Harvest this morning to buy some bday treats for work and thought of you! Question… will your GH have cinnamon rolls ready to go when you open at the butt crack of dawn? This one didn’t.
Kath says
Well they are made from scratch!! I’m not sure what time ours will be ready, but they are ready at the time they are for a reason.
Sarah for Real says
Ah yes, good things come to those who wait 🙂 The goodies I got instead were are fabulous anyway. Scones, croissants and danish. The only problem was that I ate way too many!!!

Yay for cute pancakes!
I don’t actually like pancakes, but when I was little I’d beg my mum to make me Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes with our “special disneyland pancake ring” just so I could have a mickey shaped breakfast 😛
I’m a little bit disney obsessed – and proud!
Stacey@http://stacey-healthylife.blogspot.com/ says
It’s a micky mouse pancake. Great toppings it looks so good.

Zoe says
Hey Kath,
Can Kodiak Cakes only be bought online, or are they available at Whole Foods? Are there other pancake mixes you recommend that are available at Whole Foods if Kodiak Cakes aren’t? Thank you!
