A recap of our weekend and a special visitor, Charlie.
Hello, Charlie!
Thomas’s good friend John came to visit us this weekend. And he brought his dog, Charlotte aka Charlie!
I was in charge of her while the guys went golfing on Saturday. I was a little nervous because it was raining outside and Charlie, who is about 11 months old, has LOADS of energy! She and Gus were romping around, and she was literally bouncing off the furniture 😆
We had a good time though, and she has lots of personality!
The kiddos had such a good time frolicking with her and playing fetch.
But Gus had the best time!
Due to both the pandemic and his bum leg, he hasn’t gotten to run around with other dogs that much in the last year. He took a while to warm up, and then they had a blast! They had to be exiled to the porch several times for causing too much rumpus.
2 wild dogs x 2 wild children = one wild weekend!
Bro Time
John and Thomas had fun hanging out with a few friends and golfing.
And these bros spent QT together, too!
Patriotic Breakfast
We saluted our service members on Memorial Day with red, white, and blue colors.
“Home of the free because of the brave.”
Patriotic Pizza
with chicken salad
Patriotic Dessert!
My mother-in-law, Eileen, came over with all the ingredients to make us a holiday trifle! How lucky were we to enjoy this all weekend <3
Sun Dried Tomato Salmon
We made this delicious salmon recipe.
And drank too much rosé!
It was a little too cool for the pool, so we did some work instead!
Thomas and Mazen cleaned out the garden. (We paid Mazen for 40 minutes of labor – he did well!)
I organized Birch’s 3T and 4T clothes. (We were gifted some from my MIL’s friend!)
And Birch did some hard sandbox labor.
Today is the last day to shop Beautycounter for a free mini Overnight Peel or Countertime Night Cream! Read more about it here!

Charlie is adorable! She would get away with murder in my house.

At what age did you get birch that digger? My son is about 3 months younger than him (born in Jan 2019) and I’ve been wondering if he was ready for it yet.
Thanks!

It’s at the neighbors’ house! While he does love it, we only plan with it for about 10 minutes at a time. It’s also not very easy to use…

I figured it might be difficult! I’ve seen it on Instagram but thought that it might be something that would need a bit more coordination/ strength than he has now. Next year!
Kath Younger says
Yes, I find it difficult myself 😆

Have you done a post about organizing your kid’s clothing? My son is about the same age as Birch and between the “we’re not sure if we will have a second kiddo” and “this is the wrong season to gift this on buy-nothing” his closet is a huge mess! I’d love some ideas on wrangling the many ages of clothing.
And if I am being honest, I have the “I can’t bear to part with this cute little outfit” pile as well <3

Great post topic idea!! I have some suggestions that I’ll try to fit into a post : )
