I was so organized going into this reconciliation for the month of June – I kept up to date on our bank account all month.
YET – it doesn’t balance!! Argh. I’ve got a mystery to solve.
In the midst of all that, 5 smiling faces appeared at the front counter! I can always tell when the KERF readers appear because they make eye contact with ME instead of the BREAD!! This group was having a girls’ weekend and came down to Cville to visit from Pennsylvania and Fredericksburg. They were lots of fun! A special shout out goes out to their friend and KERF reader Emily and her babies. Best wishes Emily!
The crew brought me treats from PA – BEER (wheee!) and Dill Pickle Popcorn!
We opened the popcorn just now – yum!!! It’s so strong in a very good way. Matt, Karen and I can’t keep our paws out of the tin!
I just sat down for lunch – a delicious blend of leftover salmon + beans + avocado plus garden kale I picked this morning. Eat More Kale! I dressed the salad in the sesame ginger marinade that reader Dani brought me, and it totally made the salad.
Nine Grain on the side!
After a really slow week, business is booming today. Such a relief! I’m headed home in an hour to get ready for the wedding. Better be able to solves this math problem in one hour!!
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says

Dill Pickle Popcorn? That might be a bit crazy for me 🙂
Your salad looks amazing though! I always lean towards spinach, romaine, and mixed greens, but I should try to mix kale in a bit more often!

When I waitresses in college sometimes I had to close out the register after the night, it was such a pain, I don’t think it ever zero’d out! And that was just one night! I don’t envy having to do a whole month’s worth of recon!

I’ve seen dill pickle popcorn before. (I thought it was just a Texas thing, but I guess not.) I’ve always been to freaked out to try it, although I do love a good pickle. Maybe next time I see some, I’ll take the plunge.*

I came in today and got a Savannah and Apple Crunch Bread Pudding bar, it was delicious! I said hi to Allie but saw you in your office so I didn’t want to bother you. Your Great Harvest was awesome; especially with the almond butter spread to sample! I didn’t sample too much because I feel bad for sampling anywhere, haha. Anyways, have a good rest of the weekend! I’m glad I could stop by. :]
KathEats says
Oh man I was waiting for you to come!! You should have said something 🙁 Maybe next time and I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Lorin says
Yeah, I’m sorry. I regret not saying hi to you today, especially since that was partly why I came here (also to see Charlottesville). I live in California, but I hope to be back here next summer. I went to the downtown area and had dinner and went to arch’s to get that gooey brownie! Really good! It’s funny how you’re going to a wedding because there is one in the hotel that I am staying at tonight. I’ll say hi next time 🙂
KathEats says

I do bookkeeping for my family’s dairy farm, and it drives me bonkers when the books don’t balance at the end of the month. Usually it’s a math error on my part, but once in a while it’s a check that cleared for a different amount than I wrote it for. I found out the bank goes by the written-out number if it doesn’t agree with the numerical one. Good luck solving your money mystery!
Julie H. says
Maybe I should plant some kale for fall…. Oh yes, I should! KERF readers are loyal, and so nice! 🙂 Have fun at the wedding!
Patty says
I’ve been in the garden trying to keep it clean. We have a community garden where I have two garden plots one for row crops and one for vine crops> My row crop plot got drowned out right after I planted it. Wasn’t going to replant but. While weeding today I realized I needed more than six beets in the row crops so I replanted. I hope it pays off.
