Loving the sunshine.
Loving this reclaimed wood Andres brought to our house for possible projects.
Loving the 50% off sale at LOFT today!! I just got back from a quick trip there and got $300 of stuff for $98*!!
*I realize this is not 50% but I think there were other sales/discounts applied too!
I lost track of time and it was 1pm when I got home – lunchtime reclaimed!
I made a big spinach salad with carrots, green pepper, garbanzos, avocado, olive oil and nutritional yeast on top.
And slurped up a bowl of Oikos with cranberry sauce on top. This might be my all-time favorite yogurt combination. I have more cranberries in my fridge – must make more sauce!
Have a good one!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
I love the idea of cranberry sauce in Greek yogurt! Why did I not think of it before?! I have a bunch of leftover cranberry sauce to use up – thanks for giving me another way to eat it. 😉
Katie @ Peace Love and Oats says
I am officially going to trader joe’s and buying cranberries after class tonight. I cannot take it anymore, I need cranberry sauce!
Jessica / Green Skies and Sugar Trips says

Cat @Breakfast to Bed says

Candice @ Sailing on Paper says
I’ve been avoiding looking online at the LOFT sale but now I really want to! It sounds like there is a ton of cute stuff to get!
Larbs says
what’d you get at loft?
KathEats says
About 5 shirts, 2 pairs of trouser jeans (I couldn’t decide between them so I got both!), a sweater dress, 2 tanktops
Larbs says
Wow! Tha’ts like a loehmann’s trip!
Laura @ She Eats Well says
Your salad looks so refreshing and greeeen. I need way more greens this week after all the pie I ate :). Love the nutritional yeast on top; that stuff is like crack, in a good way though. 🙂
Jill in Chicago says
OOH, can we please see what you got??? After you posted about your Loft shorts this summer, I bought shorts for the first time in years! (I think we’re about the same size :))
KathEats says
I’m not sure I have the means to do a fashion show – suppose I might be able to lay it out tomorrow?
Jill in Chicago says
No worries, I wasn’t able to head there yesterday after work, so at this point I would be lamenting about the deals I didn’t get rather than being inspired by yours (if that makes sense :))
Christine @ Oatmeal in my Bowl says
I wanted cranberry last night to smother a bottom layer on my salmon burger. Instead I used sweet potatoes. Odd, but good. Kudos to good shopping scores and cranberries! 😉
Rebecca @ Naturally Healthy and Gorgeous says
I love adding my own fruit to yogurt. Especially greek yogurt since it’s so high in protein!
Hilliary @Happily Ever Healthy says
Yogurt and cranberry sauce! I never thought to do that, but it sounds delicious thanks for the idea!
Betsy says
Oh I do love me a deal! I too lost track of time today. It’s 3pm and I just inhaled my lunch (raw kale greens w/ EVOO, s + p, NUTRITIONAL YEAST and these fancy dark apricots that taste divine and a luna bar on the side) – we must be on the same wavelength.
KathEats says
🙂
Lauren @ What Lauren Likes says
I am so trying cranberry sauce in yogurt! Great idea 🙂
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
I’ve been wanting to get to Loft since Black friday. About 90% of my work wardrobe is from there and I bet they have some awesome deals right now!
Justeen @ Blissful Baking says
What a great sale! I am heading over to the LOFT right now.
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I love good sales–and I sure went to town last week with ’em! SO happy with my purchases and all my Christmas shopping DONE. Wheeeee! 🙂
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Wow, the weather looks gorgeous there! Send some sunshine our way because it’s nothing but rain today. Sounds like a wild success at LOFT!
ashley says
I have a very similar lunch often but it also includes eggs/something and lots of bread and dessert. Love yogurt and avocado too.
Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn says
J.Jill is having a sale too, fyi 😉
KathEats says
I’ve never been in there – is it similar?
Katelyn @ Chef Katelyn says
I would say so. I know for a fact they are having a sale of at least 25% — check it out g-fran!
kathleen @ the daily crumb says
love the deals they’ve been having at loft! i was just there yesterday and could have purchased almost the entire store.
love the spiced up greek yogurt… i’m loving cranberries these days!

Super holiday discounts. It’s hard not to spend when you see those great bargains.
Love the reclaimed wood.
Emily G. @ from my messy desk says
How is it possible to make food I dislike look so good!?! I’m not a cranberry person AT ALL but those pictures make me want to sink my teeth into it!
Kristin says
Your lunch looks amazing!! I was surprised that you added nutritional yeast on the salad. I’ve never tried it before. Did you add it for taste or nutritional value? Also, garbanzo beans on any salad makes it even better so I bet it was delicious! Have a great day!
KathEats says
It has a cheesy flavor – like the powdered packets for boxed mac and cheese. And of course it’s good for you too!
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
So wish I could go shopping right now! Ugh…jealous!
Anna @ On Anna's Plate says
Loft always has the best sales…plus, their clothes are such good deals anyway!!
Lisa (bakebikeblog) says
how gorgeous is that wood!
Samantha says
Your blog is SO inspring. YOU are so inspiring. Thanks to you I’ve decided to pursue dietetics after months of doubting my ability to make it through the program. Reading your story was so great for me, and I’m incredibly happy that I stumbled upon your blog.
KathEats says
Thanks Samantha!
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga says
I want that reclaimed wood, now! There is a reclaimed wood ‘store’ here…but the prices are exorbitant. Like..crazy. Like you could buy a brand new table x 5 for some of the prices they charge for a reclaimed one. I need to find a good flea market or antique shop that’s a buried secret that the rest of SoCal hasnt found out about yet…
Fran@ Broken Cookies Don't Count says
The cranberry yogurt combo looks yummy!
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
I NEED to make some cranberry sauce! I do every year but this year I completely forgot!
Tiffany says
Hey Kath,
Do you have a facebook page for KERF? Because I’ve tried to look it up and can’t find it, is there a reason for not having one?
KathEats says
I don’t… I’m not sure what its purpose would be? I’d prefer to have comments and discussions here, so it seems like it would just be a static page? I like Twitter better 🙂
lynn @ the actor's diet says
i need more cranberry sauce in my life…
Meaghan O'Connor (My Spoonful of Inspiration) says
What a beautiful, fresh-looking lunch! 🙂
Lindsay says
That wood is STUNNING and so are those deals from Loft (loft ENVY right now…S. Korea so doesn’t get into or understand black friday/after thanksgiving sale bliss!). And the cranberry is genious…I’ve been putting all kinds of leftovers in my oatmeal, like the sweet potato pie:) YUM. No mashed taters or turkey tho in these oats…haha
Jamie C. says
That cranberry sauce looks really yummy! What’s the jist of how you put it together?
KathEats says
Here’s my recipe for it: https://www.katheats.com/?page_id=288
Jamie C. says
thank you! quick question…. I’m thinking of just adding a tablespoon of maple syrup or agave nectar (i like it tart too!), would you suggest doing this before it cooks down or after?
KathEats says
I’d add it at the beginning
Karen says
I love nooch and put it on almost all my fresh salads these days. It’s especially good mushed up with beans and avocado and warm kale greens!
LOFT has been having some unbelievable sales this season as has Banana. It’s rare not to get at least 30% off both, and when combined with my teacher’s discount, most of clothes have been super cheap. I only buy play clothes at LOFT – not professional clothes – but still…
(Pretty wood!)
KathEats says
I just can’t bring myself to call it nooch!!
Karen says
It’s a term of endearment 🙂
Amy Pea says
Love it, I call kombucha “bootch!”
Kim says
I hit that LOFT sale too! Love 50% off!
Laura says
am I correct in saying that it’s you who has one of those “eat more kale” shirts? if so, you might be interested in this article. makes me want to buy one in support! not to mention i love kale 🙂

KathEats says
Yes, so sad 🙁
Claire @ LoveNotLipo says
You should post pictures of what you bought at LOFT!!!
Missy says
Kath,
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post your haul! I went to the LOFT sale too, but everything was picked over so I only spent $45.
Missy (first time commenter) 🙂
KathEats says
I guess I could tomorrow maybe?
Thanks for commenting!
Lexi says
hmm I stopper using nutritional yeast because I was confused about whether the MSG in it was okay or not.. any idea?
KathEats says
I’ve never heard that there was MSG in it – where did you see that?
Lexi says
If you google “nutritional yeast msg” you’ll find tons of forums debating the effects of processing on the naturally occurring msg in nutritional yeast. many people have stopped using. it’s quite confusing.. I need to set aside some time to research it more before I continue using it! 🙂
Karen says
There is not any MSG in nutrional yeast, or at least I’ve never seen any brands containing MSG. It’s simply an inactive form of yeast containing a good amino acid profile and the all important vitamin B-12, which is lacking in a vegan diet. Red Star is one of the most popular brands and they are typically the supplier of the nutrional yeast found in the bulk bins at WF, where you can find the flakes and/or powdered form inexpensively (it’s very light in weight.)
Tami@NutmegNotebook says
It feels so good to get bargains like that! I recently scored some good buys on tops at the Loft. Just happened to stop by when they had an additional 30-50% off everything including sale items. Love that!
I stock up on fresh cranberries this time of year and freeze them so I can enjoy cranberries all year long.
Lissa says
I’m slightly obsessed with Loft!! I got $257 worth of clothes today for $45!!! I never buy anything full price there anymore. I’m also looking forward to using my 2 shop cards in the coming days 🙂
Julia H. @ The Petite Spiel says
Dang, I need to jump on this cranberry sauce band wagon! My mom has a weird love of canned cranberry sauce, which kind of freaks me out because it looks like jello, so I’ve never actually been a cranberry sauce person…but I know I’d love the real stuff!
Laura (Blogging Over Thyme) says
I had cranberry sauce with greek yogurt for breakfast today! I put it in a very small mason jar for portability. So good! I’ve made rhubarb compotes in the past to have with yogurt and its the best thing ever. Makes you never want to get any flavored yogurt again!
Khushboo says
I love mixing applesauce with yogurt- such a satisfying snack!
~Christy @ wonderofallthings says
love the reclaimed wood! Beautiful 🙂
Cait's Plate says
I say this every time, but I REALLY need to try the nutritional yeast! I love the idea of popping it on a salad!
Alaina says
50% off at the Loft?? When did I miss that?! 🙂 I love the Loft.
