Boy am I behind today! I JUST had lunch!!!
This morning I did something I never, ever do – I went upstairs and got back in bed to do some reading!! (Keep in mind that I had already made the bed when I got up so I had to re-make it, which is why I never do that!) It was nice and warm under the covers. Almost as good as a space heater blowing on you!
Then I sold the last of my Craig’s List items (I had to re-list something which bumped it back up and it got more traffic). Score!
Then I was on my way to the gym at noon and passed by the pantry and took a 45-minute cleaning detour!!! The pantry is SO much more organized and thinned out. I like it!
Finally I headed to the gym at 1PM. I was on the verge of getting hungry but the exercise and my water bottle let me postpone another hour.
I played on the Stairmaster for 26 minutes and then did very heavy weights for 2 sets and then biked on back home.
Sadness:
My bike of 1.5 years is finally caput. The gears slip and the breaks look like they’re going to blow any day. I think it’s a safely hazard to ride!! Luckily Matt got a new bike a while back and so his foldable bike will become mine. Hope I can get my basket on that guy.Enter in my 2:00PM lunch –
A Hugh Jass with clementines, blue cheese, microwave-steamed brussels, and some olive oil drizzle in a big Cali Bowl
Side dish: Flax Oat Bran (SO GOOD!) with the last of a jar of Nuttzo and the last of my BethT plum jam 🙁
Another killer lunch!! I am hitting the flavors so well this week.
Just got off an Open Sky conference call and have chores to do that I didn’t do when I was lounging and sorting this AM.
And I’ve got a date at 4:30 with Emily!!
Happy Holidaze!!

Oh no re your bike!!!!
ooh that salad looks amazing though!

A bike shop can get those gears adjusted and put new brakes on for you in no time. It’s worth the $ and will be minimally expensive.
Kath says
If this bike were once a nice one I would just spruce it up, but it’s a pretty inexpensive Wal-Mart-esque bike that I bought when it was already about 10 years old…I think it’s just too tired.
Mama Pea says
I’m pretty sure you can just thrown anything in a Hugh Jass. I’m finishing one RIGHT NOW. I know, you are shocked.
Mrs. Myers @ Eat Move Write says
I need a bike. I’ve been walking everywhere and it takes me FOREVER.

Love those Cali bowls! Nice that you have a bike back-up, the demise of your old bike won’t slow you down at all!
Alison says

Glad you got some time for reading in bed, one of my favorite leisure activities!
Chelsea says
I was thinking the same thing as Angela up there, that a bike shop *may* be able to fix your bike up. Though, the foldable bike is pretty cool-although with the smaller tires it won’t go as fast as your other bike-that’s always the complaint I hear anyway.
Jenna says
your toast with nutzo and jam looks delish!!

Julie @savvyeats says
Bummer about your bike! If the foldable one doesn’t work for you, you can usually find decent, cheap bikes on Ebay/ Craig’s List.
Carla says
I wish I could have gone back to bed! It’s a rarity around here 🙂 Can’t wait for the Spark to come out!!
Jil says
Mmm there’s nothing like the warmth of reading under the covers…I did that today and almost fell asleep — but I made myself get up. haha The lunch looks delicious!
Meagan says
Ahh, I love the feeling of a “thinner” pantry. Its so refreshing to not have stale chips falling out at you!!
Lovely lunch, as usual!
Erin says
I can’t read in bed or I fall asleep! 😛
Carolyn says
Reading in bed is THE best. It’s why I’ve not been getting any sleep the last few nights. Well, one of the reasons.
haya says
you know that gears can be adjusted so they don’t slip and you can buy new brake pads, right? but i guess if you’ve already got a replacement bike it doesn’t matter
Danielle says
Reading in bed is one of my guilty pleasures and is so necessary sometimes 🙂
